Inflammation.

Just what does that mean?

Even though I have been doing sickness, I deeply and completely accept myself. I choose to enable a greatness of health for myself. God loves me and I love myself. With the Love I Receive, I have love to Give and Share.

  1. Overview and Relevancy.
Contradictory responses are a frequent frustration for people with CFS-ME. It may be BEST for one's health and Recovery to AVOID foods, herbs, drugs, activities ... which one very much likes and would like to depend on. At the same time, there can be foods, herbs, drugs, activities ... which one does NOT like in the least, yet one's health can benefit from these quite substantially. It is very constructive to understand WHY these differences are Real and gain the motivation to make the Choices which will get you to Recovery faster. Chances are, they will return or advance you to the point where you CAN partake of all those delicious pleasures you would like to, faster, also.

Inflammation is the enlargement of body cells: Swelling.
It is not just one process or the result of one influence.
The major contributors to inflammation are:

Arousal occurs when nerves are activated, by thought or physical manipulation, and the result is an increased permeability for fluids to flow into the tissues. This creates a swelling of the tissues. Increased circulation in the area can result in an increase in skin/tissue temperature as well as an increased redness or color change in the tissue. If the state of arousal progresses to the point where the tissue surface is stretched towards the maximum, discomfort and pain can result. This limitation signal can encourage one to reduce this form of "inflammation" either through mental methods of relaxation, distraction, desensitization, or, through the repetition of a previous procedure by which relief was experienced. The latter could be by way of some form of orgasm such as sneezing, masturbatory, sexual.

Stimulation occurs when nerves are activated, by physical manipulation or exposure. This may be the result of internal changes in the position of muscles and bones, or the flow of fluids through areas which have sensory nerves. What may be felt can be a sense of pressure, flow, temperature, vibration, or pulse. Stimulation may be self driven as something we Choose to effect upon ourselves, or, on others. It can also be the result of actions either imposed upon us, or, provided to us, at our request, by the offer of someone else, or, through a reciprocal exchange of services or desires.

Stimulation can also be effected upon us by environmental factors which activate our sensory nerves. These can include plants brushing against us as we pass them. The sun warming us. The rain cooling us. Winds providing a sense of movement, pressure, and temperature. Clothing conveying to us a sense of softness, texture, color, tightness, weight. Stimulation is usually considered to always be a Passive or Active ACTION. Depending upon its degree of pleasure or discomfort it brings to us, the result may be to stimulate into inflammation, or, to depress into a comfortable, relaxed, calm.

Irritation occurs when our immune systems mount an attack against what it detects and translates as being a hostile invader. Killer cells are sent to the area with a purpose of eliminating, or reducing, the presence of potentially toxic or injurious bacteria, fungi, heavy metals, chemical irritants, neurotoxins from other parasites. Our Reptilian Structure has initiated an emergency response to a threat and it can demand that many other normal and healthy processes be reduced, or suspended, until the invader is stopped, bundled up, taken to the door, and, encouraged quietly or forcefully, to leave. IT sometimes cannot effectively "throw out" the invader. Then, it may have to have a prison built around the offender (cyst/tumor) which will keep it confined away from the healthy cells.

Some of the processes which are REDUCED with inflammation:

  • Drainage of Fluids.
This process is a benefit when it is removing toxins from cells through the lymph, circulation, lungs, skin, kidney, bladder, and intestines. This may be less effective when the toxins are difficult to remove, with just water, and when toxin production is faster than the body can eliminate it. Without a keen awareness, access to fluids for intake, and adequate opportunities for hydration ... the illness encouraging condition of dehydration can occur. To be effective, the drainage of toxin laden fluids must be short.

  • Excretion of Toxins.
Unless one is in good physical health to begin with, fluid drainage is complicated by almost any bodily system weakness. If one is not fully satisfied with nutrition and a storage of energy, minerals, hormones, and vitamins, the duration of the immune contest will be short. This will be encouraged by ..

    1. Lymph:
Stagnation develops due to lack of regular exercise, parasites, inadequate fluids, high cortisol levels.

    2. Circulation:
Fluid sluggishness can develop from longer-term poor quality diet, including enzyme robbed cooked foods, refined and nutrient drained vegetables, over-oxidized stored vegetables and fruits, as well as inadequately cleaned blood due to an overworked liver, pancreas, gall bladder, heart, lungs, kidney, and, bladder. Higher cortisol levels reduce inflammation response which encourages the release of complex immune fighting compounds BEFORE they have been metabolised into simpler, thinner, fluid components.

    3. Energy:
Inadequate energy reserves can result from poor quality nutrition, physical overdemand, hormone overactivation, parasite distraction of the immune system, and, inappropriate longer-term release of cortisol. The energy bank drains dry while preparing for a constant severe offence. The longer the defence actions are delayed, the greater the battle they must wage.

    4. Endocrine gland activity:
Fatigue will result when there are constant demands for fight or flight responses.
This can include long-term (years) patterns of fear, and/or anxiety. The function of these glands becomes organ uniquely depressed, or combination depressed, or, uniformly fatigued. These include the adrenals, thyroid, pancreas, thymus, pituitary, pineal, ovary, testes, parathyroid, hypothalamus. These may, together or separately, temporarily, recover, or, worsen.

    5. Alcohol:
Normally, for health, there is no or little alcohol in the physical system.
Its presence is increased by fermentation and putrefaction of slower peristaltic action and increased and wider spreading action of destructive fungi. Alcohol presence weakens and damages the liver and depresses dozens of its metabolic and elimination processes.

    6. Assimilation:
Nutrient extract and benefit from foods is decreased by an insufficiency of water and other fluids necessary to provide a medium for food nutrients, digestive parasites, breakdown and breakapart acids, and, metabolic catalysts to combine in. With lower amounts of resources being converted into building assets, more become waste.

    7. Digestive and elimination processes:
A slowing of the these results in an escalation of all of the above declining efficiencies. Lymph and blood become thicker and move with greater difficulty. Declining energy availability, and increasing CO2 (carbon dioxide) makes the requirements for efficient metabolism inadequate. Gland fatigue makes hormonal levels, emotional expression, and participation more erratic, sensitive, and intense than during earlier more normal health periods. Alcohol presence sabotages digestion and depresses waste elimination. More minerals and vitamins are used in a constant immunity attack. With fewer assimilated nutrients from an equal caloric and fiber diet, more calories may be stored into fat and more waste products may be stored into organs and fat ... resulting in less energy for activity ....

    8. Consciousness:
Mental fogginess through elevated levels of cell toxins through influence of the above. This can promote expressions of frustration, anger, impatience, irritability, diminished or enhanced hearing sensitivity, forgetfulness.

  • Healthy parasitic populations:
Inflammation is the Pause that allows for a survival effort in the face of challenge. By slowing down many fundamental life processes, inadequate oxidation of nutrients and sufficient removal of wastes from many origins results in a fall in fluid pH levels. Becoming more acidic, the environment for the thousands of kinds of bacteria which assist us in assimilation and excretion, becomes unfriendly. As this change becomes more acute, the burning waters mutate once cheerful friends into vengeful enemies. Troublemaking visitors who would normally find the more health and more alkaline environment distasteful, now begin to take comfort in their more preferred acidic landscape. More and more health enemies take up residence while our friends leave, or, misinterpret our inability to stop flooding them with pollution.

Unhealthy parasitic populations begin to grow and are encouraged to attract and multiply in confidence by the increasing acidity of the environment, together with the acidity which they contribute through their own neurotoxin wastes. Like fungi growing on rotting material and manure, the greater and more intense the pile of refuse, the more they are encouraged to spawn, bloom, spread, and infect. While our Reptilian Structure is struggling to stay a tsunami of viral catalysts as they turn off and shut down cells and organs, the fungi cut and pierce, initiating more inflammation. This development adds to the acidic intensification and more friends are turned to enemies and more enemies heed the call of invitation. We are increasingly reducing our assimilation of nutrients, our weapons of defence ... and, increasing our store and density of waste ... and, inflammation grows.

  • Endocrine gland structure:
These are our branch offices and neighborhood factories.
They depend upon the Head Office to send them supplies, pick up their garbage, pay their employees, and distribute their products and manage the services they provide. That, is healthy, orderly, and a balance of shared skills. Inflammation pauses this economic program. Inflammation is like the Head Office having a new computer network installed. It is intended to only take a day or two. Most of the staff will be given a holiday, without pay. They will return with the systems all working better than before. That, is the Plan. Our immune system will repair the breakdown, and everything will return to "normal".

Temporary inflammation is like changing a destroyed or worn out machine with a new one. If inflammation becomes chronic and acute, the Plan, runs into serious trouble. The installers and repair persons arrive and begin to take out the old, rusty, worn out, cracked hardware. They are simply to remove the old stuff, put the new into place, make the connections, and, turn on the Power. But when they start they find that the old system has been "fried" by the competition. They thought they were coming just to swap out the diseased cells and implant new health ones. That is what the Head Office executive thought was all that was needed.

Chronic inflammation is like arriving to do a routine and straightforward action only to find that no one adequately ran tests and determined WHAT the extent and the complexity of the malfunction was, BEFORE, calling the service company. The manager at the service office listened to the concerns loosely described. It was assumed that the problem was a major, yet general, problem. The Sales Department, those Rational negotiators with the optimism of the Easy Fix, was contacted and encouraged. They, in turn, convinced the Head Office executive to buy a new system. "Just Replace It", they said. A new system was purchased and sent. No one asked the Relevant questions. No one did the Relevant tests. Everyone assumed "the obvious" which had happened many times before.

We have a really bad mess here, NOW.
Now, we find out that there had been an unnoticed Power Surge and that some of the infrastructure optical cabling has been destroyed. We NEED this cabling to carry the signals between the components. It is what enables our "nerve center" to function. It runs through walls and floors, concrete and wood. It is no longer just a case of unhooking some components, removing them, putting the new ones in place, hooking them up, and, GO. It isn't just a simple remove the dead cells and the junk and replace with new cells. A virus has weakened the cabling electronics and the nerves are no longer carrying dependable signals. Some of the spots caught on fire and were doused with water. Water shorted some other circuits and there were more fires and damage. The wrong fire extinguishing fluid had been used and instead of quelling the flames, it only spread them, and multiplied them.

Finally, we are getting the damage under control.
The branch offices and neighborhood factories staff are calling.
They were to take ONE day off work. This is day Two.
Now, the repair and install people are on site.
They can't decide IF they can complete the job.
Some are talking about tearing down the whole building.
Not possible. Too costly. Must get this one back online.
Could be a week, maybe two, perhaps a month?
And YOU expect the branch and factory staff to Wait!
They need work hours, pay checks, materials, deliveries.
Every day the renovation lingers on, more employees leave.
The Head Office cannot survive if the factories shut down.
    Very Bad.

Chronic inflammation can damage your endocrine glands.
They are waiting for supplies and instructions, and, ...
    Nothing is coming!
Branches are waiting to hear from the factories.
Waste begins to build up. Temporary storage needed.
Our thyroid say OK, send some here.
It makes nodules and tumors to store the toxins.
This lowers its circulation and function.
Not enough space, need more locations.
Other organs build cysts and tumors.
If everything doesn't get fixed soon enough ...
This is going to be a Very Bad Mess, FATAL.

  • Rest/Rebuild cycles:
Our body, in good health has many rest-rebuild patterns.
All of these include periods of cell/tissue fill and drain.
The FILL part is a form of inflammation.
    Nutrients and waste accumulate.
During the DRAIN process, the waste is removed.
Blood and lymph circulation enable the cycle.
Life is enabled by the energy of nutrient conversion.
A key catalyst to the Action in the process is oxygen.

For persons with CFS-ME, oxygen can be scarce.
With increasing parasitic interference, oxygen is robbed.
If hormone resources are low, an emergency is signaled.
Healthy organ functions are retarded by lack of hormones.
Emergencies trigger cortisol to release energy & activate.
But, cortisol resources are low and slow to be released.
And, absence of other hormones prevents co-ordination.
Actions are waiting for energy; waiting for resources.
Fatigue induces changes in the CO2 reaction threshold.
Lung function becomes depressed & CO2 levels increase.
With decreased activity, there is decreased oxygen intake.
Digestion is slower and assimilation becomes much slower.
    A DRAIN action cannot complete.
A REBUILD action is on hold.
    The fuel tank is empty.

Temporary, is the healthy response duration of healthful inflammation.
When the Inflammation Response is not efficient, our Reptilian Structure remains on ALERT and busy activating the components of our immune system. This keeps our pH level lower and more acidic. On ALERT, our circulation is targeted to the more essential organs and the others begin to starve. We also begin to shut down our immune systems so they do not drag on our energy supplies while we are planning to run from a tiger, address a supervisor we hate, continue working a busy 12 hour shift, get the motivation to go to a stage and do publicly speak to an audience, ....

Temporary becomes translated into longer-term, at some threshold point. These metabolic and immunity activations, when extended into the longer-term, become both chronic, and, either corrective, or, remedial. Chronic conditions can hold other normal processes depressed until those parts of the body begin to weaken and become susceptible to illness or injury. This can complicate the unbalanced health position further. It is possible from a constant ALERT position that the Reptilian Structure may reallocate the inflammation threshold into a "normal" setting of ON, with a minimal opportunity to be satisfied and turned off.

Our bodies may be so constantly fighting for our return to health that they forget what the indicators of health WERE, and just keep on fighting, regardless of their success, or lack of it. This is a secondary consideration and possible contribution to CFS-ME. Cortisol is a hormone which the body releases under the influence of stress. Cortisol stimulates the pancreas to release the hormone insulin to metabolise starches into sugars and sugars into energy. This energy is to fund the fight or flight reaction, which is expected. Like a solar energy fed battery, there is only so much charge available.

Cortisol also REDUCES inflammation.
It can be as if we have been shot and we are making the effort to get to a nearby hospital. We go into shock so we can move and focus on the directions we must follow for a safe trip. We don't feel the pain. We breath slow. Our circulation slows. But, will we survive if we drive on forever and never reach the hospital? At some point, all of our hormone reserves will be depleted. Our easily accessible energy is depleted. It takes HIGH grade metabolism to convert fatty tissue and food. Our metabolism is turned OFF. Eventually our battery of cortisol is depleted and we slow down to a stop. We must now wait for our solar panels to recharge our batteries. Yet, it IS an emergency. As soon as we have a little bit of charge stored, off we go again, slow, but moving. And, every time we stop to charge, we bleed faster, as we wait.

Arousal and Impotency.

Arousal occurs when nerves are activated, by thought or physical manipulation, and the result is an increased permeability for fluids to flow into the tissues. This creates a swelling of the tissues. The swelling may bring nerves in the tissues either closer to the surface, or, by placing pressure on them, increase their sensitivity. Increased circulation in the area can result in an increase in skin/tissue temperature as well as an increased redness or color change in the tissue.

Discomfort and Pain can result if the state of arousal progresses to the point where the tissue surface is stretched towards the maximum. This limitation signal can encourage one to reduce this form of "inflammation" either through mental methods of relaxation, distraction, desensitization, or, through the repetition of a previous procedure by which relief was experienced. The latter could be by way of some form of orgasm such as sneezing, masturbation, sexual intimacy.

Physical shock:
Depending upon the context of the experience, a physical shock can result in associations with Fear, or, Confidence. A physical shock could be a loud or unexpected noise, a slap, a sudden change in temperature (usually to Cold), a verbalization. If the shock is responded to with an anticipation of something Joy filled, the thinking of the person will trigger nerve and gland reinforcement of additional inflammation/ enlargement. Alternatively, if the experience of shock is unexpected and unknown, a reaction of Fear is likely to occur and unconsciously directed nerve impulses will stimulate the release of Cortisol, in preparation for a fight or flight alertness. Engorged tissues will, normally, quickly be drained of additional fluids, and the distraction of arousal will disappear.

Fear, Frustration, Anxiety, Vengeance, Anger, and similar restrictive emotions will have a tendency to result in the release of Cortisol. Each of these emotions provides an unconscious activation of aggressiveness for expected defensive, or, anticipated offensive interactions or physical expressions. These expressions may be acting out forms in which the person is "blowing off steam." These often fast and erratic movements of the arms or legs, raised voice, and swearing or threatening words ... can often be misunderstood by others nearby, as threatening to themselves.

If a bystander assumes the actions of the other to be a threat, and involve themselves in defensive movements, this can trigger the acting out person to target them. In the intensity of the experience, the acting out person can sense, and misinterpret, the defensive actions or words of the bystander, as offensive. Rather than dumping energy into space, it can become directed at any living form perceived to be capable of adversity or harm to the acting out person, be it a pet, or a person. This can escalate the self-experience into an inter-action, which quickly becomes hazardous to both. Erogenous tissues can quickly deflate as some muscular tissues receive hormonal instructions to enlarge and prepare for a display of strength.

Arousal is a temporary, and often subjectively controlled, form of tissue engorgement and inflammation. The subjectivity of the experience relies upon our anticipations, expectations, desires, previous experiences, associations, and, hormonal capacities. If our "arousal" hormone supply has been exhausted from either repeated or chronic responses and reactions ... there will be no supply left for positive, pleasurable, relaxed, interpersonal sharing. This, for some persons with CFS-ME, can extend to reduced or an inability to appreciate sensual touch, sexual foreplay, food and environmental aromas, and, in other extremes, bright light or loud music and sounds. It can also, and often does, reduce one's libido. This latter result is often termed "impotency".

Stimulation, and, Depression.

Mucous erogenous membranes are dense with sensory nerves.
They include the lips, breast nipples, clitoris, penis glans, and anus.
Almost any region of the body can be heightened into an erogenous zone through conscious and trained associations with sexuality. Mucous membranes are usually those we define as tissues at openings to the body which are exposed to the air. Here, we are focusing on the intersection of these, mucous erogenous tissues. Because these are dense with nerves, they are relatively easy to stimulate, and, to overstimulate. With excess, the then skin layers in these areas can become inflamed, broken, irritated, and sore. These tissues are susceptible to over response from exposure to hormones.

Hormones are powerful biochemicals which travel around the inside of the body by way of blood and lymph circulatory passages. They are activity messengers between endocrine organ control "brains" (such as the pancreas, thyroid, adrenals) and between these organs and the more massive activity "production" organs (such as the stomach, lungs, heart, intestines). Hormones are either excitation-to-activity or de-activation-to-calm factors. Often, they can initiate almost immediate responses through the sensitization of specific nerves in the target areas. The activation variety, when added to supplements, used as special herbs, or combined in so-called anti-aging cremes ... are intended to work with low nerve density tissues. They are considered to be "toning" benefits which can either tighten skin and reduce wrinkles, or, inflame skin to become "fuller" and more aroused.

When applied to the general skin tissues, they tend to accentuate nerve growth towards the surface. This, enables greater sensitivity, and with an ability to have greater sensitivity comes an ability to stimulate the surrounding and underlaying musculature and blood vessels. There is an inflammatory growth of the tissues and an extension of the nerves. One feels more intense sensations from touch, or arousal, and, an subtle inflammation of the skin plumps it and fills in the wrinkles to result in a smoother, tighter, covering. One is always cautioned in the instructions to NEVER use any creme or solution with hormone additives, on a mucous, erogenous area.

Excessive stimulation can result in pain and develop through an oversensitization of the associated nerves. This true example happened to a male who wanted to use a creme to assist his masturbation technique. A woman whom he shared his residence with at the time had a small jar of hormone "night" face creme. One day, incorrectly assuming that the face creme was little different than a white vitamin A skin creme, which he had used before with success, he used the hormone creme. A small amount was applied to his penis and he masturbated to orgasm. As always, he washed afterwards. This error only happened once.

Several days later, a new experience began to develop.
Whenever the fellow had mildly erotic feelings about a potential sexual partner, he began to get an erection. This had happened before, though seldom in a way which was uncontrollable or uncomfortable. Now, as his penis became inflamed into a partial erection, he began to feel pain. Soon, he discovered that the nerves in his penis glans had GROWN closer to the surface AND become more sensitive than previously. By the time he had a partial erection, he felt burning, cutting pain as if his penis had become too large and as if the skin was so tight that it might break. At its worse, some of the veins in his penis, near the surface, would begin to bleed. It was a torturous 2 or 3 years before the condition calmed back to the previous normal. During that period, even the thought of sexual intercourse was to be avoided with every effort. Any context of erotic pleasure was torture.

Inflammation can bring severe pain,
even when stimulated by a thought.

Inflammation can become more painful through the sensitization of the nerves involved. One does not have to have tissue irritation in order to experience pain. If the reverse is equally possible, a thought may be able to reduce one's inflammation. We have heard of many examples when individuals have done this. Consciously, briefly, even longer-term, they have distracted their consciousness with other activities, and the sensation of pain has slid into the background. Through meditation, prayer, hypnosis, or spiritual training .. one can reduce one's readiness or compulsion to follow beliefs supported by restrictive emotions (like anger, hate, vengeance, grief, loss, envy, lust) and strengthen one's readiness to invite and express beliefs and sharing emotions (such as compassion, openness, faith, hope, charity, love, acknowledgement, joining-in).

If you have pain, check your beliefs.
Are they helping or hindering you.
It is not whether you are ill or injured.
It is a question of HOW you are Choosing to LIVE!

Irritation, and, Comfort.

Irritation occurs when our immune systems mount an attack against what it detects and translates as being a hostile invader. An immune system hostile invader is anything which is not recognized as a protein molecule NOT sharing the same DNA (biological identity) as the host, YOU. Killer cells are sent to the area with a purpose of eliminating, or reducing, the presence of potentially toxic or injurious bacteria, fungi, bio-chemical irritants, neurotoxins from other parasites. Then, it may be necessary to build a prison (cyst/tumor) around the offender which will keep it confined away from the healthy cells.

I experienced my first severe motor vehicle accident whiplash injury in 1977. My recently new car was written off when another driver attempted to make a left hand turn at a rural stoplight intersection, through the driver's door. The speed limit, on a Green/Go light was 60 mph. The impact was likely similar to hitting a wall at 50 mph. After 3 days in a coma, I came back to consciousness, and went home. After about a week, I began to feel intense pain and discomfort in my neck, shoulders, and head. It is widely known that after such an accident one often does not feel the effects of pain and other ailments until the reality of physical shock is released. The longer it takes the body to cope with the health disaster, the more severe the injury is. If you go past a general threshold of 12 days after such an accident and have no acute symptoms, you are likely safe without a whiplash injury. If you have a whiplash injury, yet have no immediate indications of it, the closer you approach to the 12 day threshold, the more severe it is likely to be.

After the acute illness/accident symptoms had been addressed, the chronic ones appeared. I was doing my best to return to and maintain an active work schedule. This was increasingly being disrupted with severe headaches and other pains. They reached an intensity within hours, after days of initial absence. The medical routine of the time was to prescribe drugs. After taking high dose codeine for weeks, my doctor was surprised that a) I was not totally constipated from the usual side effect of such a dose, and b) that the pains had not subsided at all. I was experiencing constant intense pain as much of the 24 hours of the day that I was not asleep. Sleep was erratic, interrupted by the pain. I was scheduled for physiotherapy sessions. The local and only available physiotherapist then used a form of muscular manipulation that was often strong enough to leave bruising, unmediated by the deep heat and other assistive modalities used. Many of his referred patients quit after the first or second session. I attended the complete 20 session allotment. No benefit.

I suggested to my doctor that we try a chiropractic approach.
Such had worked in a positive way for me previously and I knew of many others who benefited. He was open to the possibility. Options for a medical doctor of the time were limited to drugs, physiotherapy, and, seldom, surgery. The chiropractic helped, but the results would only hold for minutes. The practitioner came to the region once a week. I made other adjustments and attempts towards recovery. None helped. Eventually, I was spending most of my time at home, or, resting in the back of my truck on my way to, or from, one of many often distant clients. The pain had become a constant irritation. Once it had presented, it had never left. I had used my will to soldier on through my work and other activities. I had tried HARD to resist, deny, and remedy the pain. Nothing worked! For 18 months!

Life no longer had any joy.
Life had become a contest of willpower to survive.
Life was a duration of pain, tension, fighting, despair.
One day, in prayer, I begged for the pain to end.
The answer came to me in a total change of belief.
I stopped Fighting the Pain and accepted it as a friend.
It was there to tell me that something was wrong.

I learned to Relax and accept the Pain; to relax to the pain.
Soon, the pain lessened, my sleep improved, my anxiety and despair reduced. It would be another 5-1/2 years before I was found the Balancing Therapy, release most of my energy blocks, and, totally, Recover from that whiplash injury and remain symptom free. The fighting spirit that had kept me alive had also condemned me to inflammation and pain. Inner peace did not deny the physical reality. It did enable an ability to work with the reality and change a constant irritation into an often frustration. I got most of my life back. I used my beliefs to reduce my inflammation.

Irritation can also be of an emotional nature, for humans, and many animals. This form of irritation can be experienced as any act or expression which is associated with any one or combination of fear, frustration, abandonment, rejection. The beliefs we have and the meaning we assign to such terms and movements make them Symbols. All forms of communication are dependent upon shared symbol meaning. We if do not share identical experiences of culture, education, sources of reading, religious instruction, language dialects and idioms, personal achievements and failures, age-related and peer involvements, social contact, business involvement, authority expression, and, gender inclinations ... our communication may be misinterpreted, fundamentally. And, in like pattern, we can misinterpret what and how others are attempting to communicate with us.

Miscommunications are often tremendously energy absorbing.
They require extended periods of discussion if the communication differences are to be recognized, as relevant. More time is required to Negotiate what the constructive options can be. Still more time and effort are demanded if one is to decide upon a strategy of Resolution. Such outcomes often include changes and acknowledgements which one, the other, or both parties initially find very demanding and humbling. At times, such changes can be impossible to immediately be activated, yet alone be accepted internally. We may intellectually realize the option and its benefits, yet, emotionally find that our Identity seems to be threatened by such changes, or, that the strong simplicity of decades old accepted patterns cannot be modified overnight. Failures which we seem to be unable to change and reduce, become irritations. Like a thorn under the foot which we cannot reach to remove, every time we move, we seem to be exposing ourselves to yet more Pain, when all that is desired is Presence.

Irritations are like mini cuts and fractures that never heal.
It seems that a major cut or break is easier to cope with mentally and physically. For those, there is major activation of the immune system. We accept that there MUST be major changes in our lifestyle (activities, diet, sleep), and, relationships. We know, from experience, that if we make these huge changes on a temporary basis, we will often be able to return to the Past reality and to the level of pleasures and stability we have learned to expect and appreciate. We know, often from the shared or inferred experiences of others, that if we fail to make the changes, or to allow for them, our lives will permanently be disfigured. We may even die.

Irritations take away most of the apparent certainties of life and expose us to an apparent anarchy of unfulfilled expectations and hopes. Decisions are less dramatic. We involve ourselves less in the outcome. The outcome falters with this lack of commitment. Inadequate resources of time, negotiation, and resolution ... often extend experiences of irritation into a lifestyle of despair and depression. Others seldom speak of their irritations, unless it is to suggest that such are resistant to change, even impossible to change. We have few cultural resources which prepare us for coping with realities in which a solution depends upon an aggressive approach to what seems to be non-life threatening intrusions on our health. The common context is one of denial. Just slow down, back off, take a placebo, give yourself time .. and the cold (virus), indigestion, or experience of anger .. will subside and go away.

Irritations are invasions of health destructive energies which keep replicating as fast as we address them. As fast as we try to destroy them with short-term toxic solutions, we encourage them to mutate into stronger and more deceptive adversaries. For the lack of a serious effort by the health departments of our governments, the incidence of chronic illness continues to escalate. For the pride of medical institutions to rest on their capacity to address acute health problems, the chronic ones are pushed aside as unimportant. For the passivity and ignorance of most citizens, WE allow ourselves to be sidelined out of the reality of life, as if we are playing a game with rules of justice and fairness. Irritations suck the life out of us by constantly draining away our ability to be self-sufficient and involved. Like the cortisol of the CFS-ME person, our energies are drained out of our lives with endless emergencies being presented to us for which we have no awareness to discern a relevant answer, no resources to effect a solution, and no support or acknowledgement from others to bridge the setbacks.

Comfort is only maintained when one remains aware, informed, involved, and joyful. With the complexity that is the Reality of CFS-ME, a Package of Illnesses, it is most difficult for anyone with it to reach an awareness, become informed, maintain involvement, or, experience Joy. With so many irritations, apparent inconsistencies, and lack of energy as a foundation, one's progress towards Recovery will often depend upon the assistance of others, who, have never had and do not understand what CFS-ME is. This is an impossible equation. If you find this material relevant, share it with others who do not have CFS-ME, yet. Encourage them to become aware of how THEIR loss of Comfort and Joy could lead to their loss of Libido.

Pro-inflammatory Factors. The following stimulate the increase of fluid in one's cells for a variety of purposes. More fluid may be triggered by a substance which is metabolically too strong, thick, unripe, or tissue complex for simple digestion (HFCS, borage oil, black current seed, eggplant, EPO, green peppers, vegetable oils, GLA). Some of these substances may require large amounts of energy in order to afford a metabolism of complex molecules (dairy, meat, eggs, shellfish). Still others, may normally be over-acidic in digestion.

Stimulants and irritants are often substances which encourage inflammatory responses. Sometimes, it is the quantity of a stimulant which determines WHEN it will become an irritant. Ultimately, if you have CFS-ME, you are best to AVOID anything in these lists which you are unwilling, too lazy, or too fatigued to test yourself on. And, you can always ask someone else to do the checking for you, some, or all, of the time.

Dosages:
Taking a higher dose of anything for a constant (versus pulsed) duration and for a longer (weeks/months) duration (versus days or weeks) can encourage one's Reptilian Structure to reset its production threshold for that form of substance. If this happens, dependency and addiction will result, until the setpoint is readjusted back to a more relevant level.

Toxins, inflammatory response,
and the label "auto-immune condition".

A commentary by Dr. Ronald Drucker, (BS, MTASCP), DC,
From: http://www.molocure.com/inflammation.shtml

Digestive disorders, regardless of whether gastritis, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, constipation, diarrhea etc. share some features in common. In particular, these digestive disorders all share an inflammation of the mucous membranes of the gastrointestinal tract as part of their patho-physiological picture. Yet it is critical that we understand that the process of inflammation plays a key role in the body's attempts at detoxification, ridding the body of damaged and abnormal tissue and removing free radicals. ...

Informed independent researchers understand that if the detoxification process (as represented by the inflammatory response) is successful, a healing takes place and health is restored. If the detoxification process is chemically blocked, a focal lesion results at the place where the inflammatory process is unable to move forward to completion in its task of detoxification. Extended "treatments" of this chemically blocking nature can lead to severe and widespread tissue and organ damage at which time the patient is "recommended for surgery." Ironically, when the body is given proper support and stimulus, the inflammatory process can be brought under control while being allowed to accomplish it's goal of natural detoxification without chemical interference.

The process of inflammation is the body's desperate attempt to rid itself of harmful toxins, when the body's natural mechanism for detoxification, primarily the immune system, is not functioning properly or over burdened. Ideally, when inflammatory symptoms occur, the body should be aided via a gradual, gentle and non-irritating detoxification process, ridding the body of toxins which are the primary culprits of the inflammation, thus reducing inflammation and stress to the immune system, while simultaneously balancing and restoring proper immune function to alleviate auto-immune response. ...

The basic functions of the cell membrane are to take in nutrients (nutritive function), excrete waste products (detoxification function) and identifying "self" from "foreign" (immunological function). Glucopolysaccrides such as those found in a highly concentrated form in A.M.P. Molo-Cure, are essential components of the cell membrane, without which it could not function. To a large degree, the quality of the cell membrane and it's glucopolysaccrides determines it's ability to perform these vital functions.

Calm, Contentment, and Depression, can also be side benefits or disadvantages of anti-inflammatories. If they contribute to your life quality, they are a benefit. Some, like heavy metals, will depress organ functions, and thereby retard excretion of wastes and disrupt healthy hormone levels. This form of anti-inflammatory will impose, or encourage, constrictive emotions and mental confusion. Some anti-inflammatories may reduce some symptoms which are unhealthy when chronic, yet increase other symptom presence which are unhealthy in the shorter-term.

Basil: An herb for anti-inflammatory response.

Basil is an herb with many health benefits. It has highly fragrant leaves and is often used in cooking with tomato.
There are more than 60 varieties of basil, all of which differ somewhat in appearance and taste. The oils in basil are highly volatile. It is best to add the herb near the END of a cooking process, so it can retain its maximum essence and flavor. Basil is a good source of nutrients: calcium, dietary fiber, iron, magnesium, manganese, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K, and potassium.

The eugenol component of basil's volatile oils can block the activity of an enzyme called cyclooxygenase (COX), just like many non-steriodal over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDS), including aspirin and ibuprofen, as well as the commonly used medicine acetaminophen do. Two varieties of Basil that are widely used in Ayurvedic medicine have been scientifically shown to reduce inflammation and swelling.

  • Anti-bacterial:
Basil protects against pathogens, even those that have become resistant to antibiotics. Its volatile oils, which include estragole, linalool, cineole, eugenol, sabinene, myrcene, and limonene restrict the growth of numerous bacteria, including : Escherichia coli O:157:H7, Listeria monocytogenes, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, and, Yersinia enterocolitica. ALL of these are now widespread, especially throughout Europe and North America, and, they now pose serious treatment difficulties because they have developed a high level of resistance to treatment with antibiotic drugs.

Washing produce in a solution containing either basil or thyme essential oil at the very low concentration of just 1% has resulted in a drop in the presence of Shigella, an infectious bacteria that triggers diarrhea and may cause significant intestinal damage, to below the point at which it could be detected.

  • Flavanoids, Free-radicals/oxidation:
Two water-soluble flavonoids, Orientin and vicenin enable basil to protect cell structures as well as chromosomes from radiation and oxygen-based damage. Basil strengthens your cells and chromosomes to deal with radiation damage, such as that from UV rays, cellphone transmissions, WiFi communications, AM/FM and television signals. Cholesterol only builds up in the blood stream after it has been oxidized. Only then, does it encourage the development of atherosclerosis, which can result in a heart attack or stroke.

  • Magnesium:
    This mineral promotes cardiovascular health.
It prompts muscles and blood vessels to relax.
This improves blood flow and lessens the risk of irregular heart rhythms or a palsying of the heart muscle or a blood vessel.

  • Immunity:
Basil has shown benefits in those who have asthma, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, bronchitis, bronchial asthma, skin diseases, arthritis, inflammation and fever.

  • Storage:
Fresh basil should be stored in the refrigerator wrapped in a slightly damp paper towel. It may also be frozen, either whole or chopped, in airtight containers. Alternatively, you can freeze the basil in ice cube trays covered with either water or stock that can be added when preparing soups or stews. Dried basil should be kept in a tightly sealed glass container in a cool, dark and dry place where it will keep fresh for about six months.

  • Pharmaceutical Alternative:
Basil is not prescribed by doctors. It is not commercially grown and mass processed for widespread consumption. Acetaminophen is commonly prescribed in one of its many forms. Billions of doses of acetaminophen are used safely every year. But acetaminophen-related overdoses cause 56,000 emergency room visits, 26,000 hospitalizations, and 458 deaths annually, according to studies done between 1990 and 1998. Worse, billions of doses of products are prescribed in which acetaminophen is combined with narcotics, according to the FDA. Some brand-name pain prescriptions containing acetaminophen include Vicodin, Lortab, Maxidone, Norco, Zydone, Tylenol with codeine, Percocet, Endocet, and Darvocet.

    Garlic: An anti-inflammatory herb.

Garlic is an herb which has been used in many cultures for millennia to provide health strength and stamina. Depending upon which benefit one wishes to derive from it, determines which way the clove/bulb can be picked, stored, prepared, and eaten. This is true of many herbs and particularly of garlic. I will only be focusing on the benefits relative to inflammation, here.

Garlic (Allium Sativum) belongs to the family Liliaceae.
It has leaves which are long, narrow and flat. The bulbous root consists of a number of tightly bound "seeds", often termed 'cloves,' all within a round, compact, whitish skin bulb. It bears a strong, pungent, heavy odor, from its volatile essential oil, and a peppery taste. The oil is of an allyl compound which is so diffusive through the body that it has been noted that if it is rubbed on the hands or the soles of the feet, the intense odor will in short time emanate from the lungs of the person. The oil can be a powerful irritant to the skin and is best used in small initial doses to avoid burns and irritations to the skin.

Garlic is used by herbalists as a remedy for all of the following and if you wish more information for any of them, search on the internet or in your local library for the keywords of the symptom of concern, and, garlic:
intestinal worm infestations, skin disorders, low libido, erectile dysfunction, weak memory, weak and monotone voice, pale complexion, failing eye sight, aching bones and joints, poor digestion, constipation, heart pains, muscle numbness, fungal growths, viral attacks, bacterial infections, allergic reactions, wheezing, coughing, high blood pressure, toxin poisoning, migraine, lack of stamina, inflammation. Many of these conditions are related.

Garlic can stimulate the production of an enzyme called nitric oxide synthase (NOS) .. which is associated with the inflammatory process of sexual arousal and erection. Nitric oxide syntheses (there are at least 3 that are known) are a family of eukaryotic enzymes that catalyze the production of nitric oxide (NO) from L-arginine. Fundamentally, for the purposes here, they relax the cell membrane and allow for expansion of the cell (inflammation). For the immune system to attack and kill invaders into a cell safely, there must be space in which to hold the expanding cell contents of the vanquished.

If inflammation were not immediately enabled as part of an immune response, the cell protectors moving into the cell, to attack and kill the harmful invaders, would in their presence, and success, increase the fluid content of the cell. This expansion would result in increased intracellular pressure against the cell wall. If the later did not stretch, it would break. The result would be a widespread hemorrhaging of cells. Larger and larger amounts of fluid would be lost from you. Dehydration would quickly set in. Shock would follow. Organ systems would become depressed and fail. You would Die!

Nitric oxide (NO) syntheses have a wide number of possible triggered applications. They ALWAYS assist in nerve communication. The SIGNAL they enhance tends to be one which allows for a beginning of, and continuance of, inflammation. They may, by inflammation, enable our immune system to make efforts towards maintaining and recovering our health. They may, by inflammation, enable our arousal mechanisms, to allow us to express our attraction towards another person, sexually. Yet one can take as relevant, that for a person who has CFS-ME, there is a possibility that the stores of NO syntheses may become so depleted through a form of systemic inflammation, that some NO-dependent functions, such as sexual erection, are

        Preparation possibilities, a few.

      • Finely chopped and combined with honey.
      • Juice of a crushed clove in hot milk.
      • Peeled minced garlic clove in olive oil to cover for 3 days.
      • Sniffing the odor has shock one's awareness out of hysteria/fear.
      • Crushed cloves mixed in a paste with mustard.

    QUOTE:
Onions have similar characteristics and are often used in combination with garlic. To preserve the beneficial effects of garlic it should not be boiled. The fresh juice is the most effective preparation. For nervous spasms, cramps and seizures, crush one clove of garlic in a glass of hot milk. For high blood pressure, take one clove of garlic each morning. Prepare oil of garlic by placing eight ounces of peeled minced garlic in a wide-mouthed jar with enough olive oil to cover. Close tightly and shake a few times each day; allow to stand in a warm place for three days.
    - The Way of Herbs by Michael Tierra
    http://www.naturalpedia.com/book_The_Way_of_Herbs.html

The effectiveness of the herb is, in part, due to the adverse strong taste and smell of it as a repellant against worms, fungi, and bacterial parasites. In addition, like similar, strong odored substances, those persons who are somewhat unaware of its presence are likely to be using it themselves. This will encourage the likelihood that they will have better health than the general population through its direct health enhancement factors. Being in a social environment which is better than average for health support, becomes a positive reinforcement. It may also have a placebo influence by its tendency to reduce the numbers of people around one and to keep those present at a distance. This lessens exposure to infection by any of many contagious viral and bacterial parasites.

Caution is best to be shown if one is to avoid continual adverse reactions to it according to strength, quantity, or, the substance itself. Like its neighbor, the onion, it can encourage the development of intestinal gas, bloating, and flatulence. If this is experience, one may decrease their dosage, add a gas reduction homeopathic preparation, include digestion enhancing herbs and spices in one's meals, take an anti-gas fungal additive, or, choose some other anti-inflammatory to take. Garlic is also NOT advised to be taken if one has a headache or has had surgery or experienced a cut recently.

    Natural Sulphurs.
    [Added information for clarification.]
    http://www.all-natural.com/msm.html

MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) is a "naturally-occurring nutrient found in normal human diets" (1). It gets into the diet through the sulfur cycle. Ocean plankton release sulfur compounds which rise into the ozone where ultra-violet light makes MSM and DMSO. DMSO, dimethyl sulfoxide, is a precursor to MSM. MSM and DMSO return to the surface of the earth in rain (1). Plants concentrate MSM and return it to the earth and the sea. Evaporation into the air results in their return to the earth (1).

MSM .. decreases the pressure inside the cell.
In removing fluids and toxins, sulfur affects the cell membrane.
MSM is an organic form of sulfur, whereas sulfites in foodstuffs are inorganic. Sue Williams states "sulfur is present in all cells" and is in the form of "organic compounds throughout the body' (2). However, sulfur can be found in the body in sulfate forms. It forms sulfate compounds with sodium, potassium, magnesium, and selenium. MSM has a significance, because sulfur compounds are found everywhere throughout the body and in nature.

Sulfur has an indirect importance, because sulfur compounds play a role in many body organs and systems. Sulfur is in the hair, skin, and nails. Many amino acids, the building blocks of protein, have sulfur as a component. Taurine is a sulfur-containing amino acid formed from methionine (2). Taurine stabilizes cell membranes (2). Methionine contains sulfur, detoxifies cells, and is involved in pain relief (2). Carnitine comes from methionine and transports long chain fatty acids preventing accumulations of lipoproteins (2). Many B-complex vitamins interact with or contain sulfur. Sulfur is needed for insulin production. ...

Avoiding nightshade plants has helped arthritis patients (tomatoes / potatoes / green pepper/eggplant). Biotin and vitamin C help the body assimilate MSM. Biotin and vitamin C are found in fresh fruits. ... The MSM source for MSM supplements is often lignin from pine trees. ... MSM is a pure, stable, white crystalline powder without the unpleasant smell or taste of DMSO. (1-3) Also, MSM does not give you a strong body odor like DMSO. ...

MSM is an anti-oxidant that helps to clean the blood stream and flush toxins trapped in our cells. It is also a foreign protein and free radical scavenger. ... The body uses what it needs, and after 12 hours will flush out any excess amounts. ...

MSM has also shown amazing anti-parasitic action against Giardia, Trichomonas, roundworms, nematodes, Enterobius and other intestinal worms. When parasites attach themselves to the intestinal lining, they can live, reproduce and rob the body of nutrients indefinitely. MSM blocks parasites by competing for receptor sites on the mucous membrane. When parasites can not attach themselves, they are simply flushed out of the system.

    .. food allergens.
MSM coats mucosal surfaces and occupies the binding sites that could otherwise be used by challenging food allergens. It can also bind with offending agents to produce harmless substances which are then excreted from the body. This facilitates normal digestion and assimilation and allows the body to get maximum nutritional value from foods that would otherwise cause a reaction. Individuals who experience an allergic response to certain foods have reported improved or complete tolerance to those foods when they take MSM supplements. Healthy flexible colon tissues along with improved digestion, can also relieve constipation.

    Diabetes
Sulfur is also a component of insulin, the hormone that regulates carbohydrate metabolism and insufficient sulfur may result in decreased insulin production. It is also possible that a lack of bio-available sulfur would make the cells so rigid and impermeable that they become unable to absorb sugar from the blood efficiently, leaving blood sugar levels elevated. Studies indicate that regular MSM supplements which cause the cell to become permeable, could help balance blood sugar and allow the overworked pancreas to return to normal.

Meat, poultry, fish, eggs and dairy products are the main sources of dietary sulfur, but we have been advised to restrict or remove many of those foods from our diets. Vegetarians, especially those who do not eat eggs, are at particular risk for sulfur deficiency. Plants cells contain sulfur but not in abundant quantities and much of the MSM present in unprocessed foods is lost in washing, cooking or steaming. And, of course, MSM levels decline noticeably with age - doesn't everything? So, the older you get, the more important it becomes to maintain adequate sulfur levels in the body.

.. 2,000 to 6,000 mg. of supplemental MSM daily is recommended.

    {Other sulfur food possibilities:
Garlic, Yarrow, Onions, Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) -- also known as thioctic acid, ..

Mercury combines with sulfates to produce very toxic gaseous compounds.
    Gold also combines with sulfates.
    Lead sulfates are commonly used in industry and were the white lead component of white paints and base paints, as well as of gasoline, and, solders.}

Serrapeptase: anti-inflammatory enzyme. Much of the information noted here is from the companion page in this package. Go to the Profile at p-serrapep.htm for more detail.

Any Powerful Benefit factor can become a disadvantage if used in ignorance. YOU can make the difference between good intentioned disaster, and, Success-by-Choice. BEFORE using this or any other product or therapy, I encourage you, here and many other places in this Package, to Learn about the fundamentals of what you are considering, and then, Test YOURSELF, to determine if such is best for you Now, and/or, Later, and in what dosages, frequencies, and strengths.

Serrapeptase is a systemic proteolytic enzyme supplement.

Serrapeptase or serratiopeptidase, isolated from the microorganism Serratia E15, is naturally present in the silkworm intestine which allows the emerging moth to dissolve its cocoon. Clinical use of serrapeptase in Europe and Asia spans over twenty five years. ...

Proteolytic digestive enzymes are produced in the pancreas.
Supplemental forms of enzymes may come from fungal or bacterial sources, extraction from the pancreas of livestock animals (trypsin/chymotrypsin) or extraction from plants (such as papain from the papaya and Bromelain from pineapples). The primary uses of proteolytic enzymes in dietary supplements are as digestive enzymes, anti-inflammatory agents and pain relievers. There are a number of clinical trials showing the benefit of using oral proteolytic enzymes as a digestive aid. Proteolytic enzymes are also theorized to help reduce symptoms of food allergies and as a treatment for rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune diseases. ...

... Viruses cannot be beat by using herbs, colostrum, or any of the popular multi-level marketing products touted as being immune enhancers and germ fighters. ... proteolytic enzymes (eat) the all-important exterior protein coating of the virus. .. the virus is active as long as its coating is intact. What happens when a virus cannot complete an Isoprin bond? Well, it simply becomes inert - harmless!

In research against viruses, systemic enzymes have been found to greatly reduce the viral load by rendering the virus inert. The trick to having enzymes work is to take enough of them. ...

Serratiopeptidase was effective for eradicating infection caused by biofilm-forming bacteria in this experimental animal model. The antibiofilm property of the enzyme may enhance antibiotic efficacy in the treatment of staphylococcal infections. ...

In the group receiving serrapeptase, the swelling had decreased by 50% on the third post-operative day, while in the other two control groups (elevation of the leg, bed rest, with and without the application of ice) no reduction in swelling had occurred at that time. Decreasing pain correlated for the most part with the reduction in swelling. Thus, the patients receiving the test substance more rapidly became pain-free than did the control groups. On the basis of these results, serrapeptase would appear to be an effective preparation for the post-operative reduction of swelling, in comparison with the classical conservative measures, for example, the application of ice. ...

Presumably my lymph system is perforce processing a lot of dissolved dead tissue, unhealthy material, and this may well be a debilitating strain on the body's daily attempts to achieve homeostasis. I imagine that rises in temperature and occasional flu-like symptoms might be triggered when my body needs to rid itself of unwanted solutions. General practitioners seem puzzled and skeptical. They say nothing. A very senior hospital specialist treating chronic pain knows the enzyme and its use in state regulated medicine in Germany and Japan (for fibroids, blocked arteries, etc.), and has no reservations whatever about my using serrapeptase. I realise that this does not add up to long term controlled trials and verifiable findings. ...

    Inflammation:
Our bodies have a love-hate relationship with inflammation.
On the one hand, inflammation is a natural response necessary to protect the body from invading organisms. On the other hand, excessive inflammation can limit joint function, and destroy bone, cartilage and other articular (joint) structures.

    Pain Reduction:
While Serrapeptase reduces inflammation, one of its most profound benefits is reduction of pain, due to its ability to block the release of pain-inducing amines from inflamed tissues. Physicians throughout Europe and Asia have recognized the anti-inflammatory and pain-blocking benefits of this naturally occurring substance and are using it in treatment as an alternative to NSAIDs.

    Post Operative Swelling and Pain:
In Germany and other European countries, Serrapeptase is a common treatment for inflammatory and traumatic swellings. One double-blind study was conducted by German researchers to determine the effect of Serrapeptase on post-operative swelling and pain. This study involved sixty-six patients who were treated surgically for fresh rupture of the lateral collateral ligament of the knee. On the third post-operative day, the group receiving Serrapeptase exhibited a 50 percent reduction of swelling, compared to the controls. The patients receiving Serrapeptase also became pain-free more rapidly than the controls, and by the tenth day, the pain had disappeared completely.

    Fibro-Cystic Breast Disease:
Serrapeptase has been used in the successful treatment of fibrocystic breast disease. In a double-blind study, Serrapeptase was superior to the placebo for improvement of breast pain, breast swelling and induration (firmness). 85.7 percent of the patients receiving Serrapeptase reported moderate to marked improvement. No adverse reactions to Serrapeptase were reported. Researchers concluded that Serrapeptase is a safe and effective method for the treatment of breast engorgement.

    Serrapeptase and Sinusitis:
Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, Serrapeptase has been shown in clinical studies to benefit chronic sinusitis sufferers. In this condition, the mucus in patients' nasal cavities is thickened and hypersecreted. This thickening causes mucus to be expelled less frequently. Japanese researchers evaluated the effects of Serrapeptase (30 mg/day orally for four weeks) on the elasticity and viscosity of the nasal mucus in adult patients with chronic sinusitis. Serrapeptase reduced the viscosity of the mucus, improving the elimination of bronchopulmonary secretions. ...

HIV primarily infects and destroys CD4 cells in the intestines.
    Mark Konlee - Feb. 1, 1999.

... In my article written in 1992, I hypothesized the following: “ Gastrointestinal tract inflammation caused by immune system attack on HIV....As the (HIV) virus grows in the intestinal tract, it passes through the intestinal wall and into the blood stream.” I also reported on the novel theory of Dr. Gerhard Orth of Germany that AIDS is caused by the destruction of intestinal mucus membranes by fungal infections.

While I don’t agree with Dr. Orth’s theory that fungal infections alone of the intestines are the primary cause of AIDS, they are most likely a co-factor. I did find it plausible that damage to the mucus membranes could contribute to AIDS and I raised this interesting question: “As a spin-off to Dr. Orth’s theories, could the HIV virus be destroying the mucus membranes of the gastrointestinal tract?”

Today, there is no evidence that HIV actually destroys the mucus membranes of the GI tract, but rather, scientific research indicates that HIV uses the mucus membranes as fertile soil to replicate, infect and destroy CD4 helper cells that are adjacent in the lamina propria of the intestines.

The research of Korotzer, Fantini J, Yahi N and many others demonstrate that HIV can infect the mucosal membranes of the colon (large intestines) not only as a primary route to transmit HIV infection, but actually replicate in the mucosal membranes where the virus passes through the epithelium into the lamina propria where it comes in contact with activated CD4 helper T cells that are vulnerable to infection.

While it is well known that unprotected anal sex in gay men is the primary route for spreading the AIDS virus, it has been long assumed that this source of entry for HIV in the rectum is important only as it leads to HIV/AIDS as a blood disease.

WRONG! The latest information gleaned from several sources indicates that for the loss of CD4 helper cells, a hallmark for HIV progression to AIDS, there must be active and ongoing replication of HIV in the mucus membranes of the gastrointestinal (G.I.) tract.

... SIV is to monkeys what HIV is to humans as an immunodeficiency virus. An article published by Veazey RS et al in Science, April 17, 1998, titled “Gastrointestinal tract as a major cite of CD4 depletion and viral replication in SIV infection.” (1) reports the following:

“Human and simian immunodeficiency virus (HIV and SIV) replicate optimally in activated memory CD4+ T cell, a cell type that is abundant in the intestine. SIV infection of rhesus monkey resulted in profound and selective depletion of CD4+ T cells in the intestine within days of infection, before any such changes in peripheral lymphoid tissues. The loss of CD4+ T cells in the intestine occurred coincident with productive infection of large numbers of mononuclear cells at this site. The intestine appears to be a major target of SIV replication and the major site of CD4+ T cell loss in early SIV infection.”

    1. Veazey et al; Science. 1998 Apr 17;280(5362):427-31.
Korotzer reports on research that demonstrates that even when SIV is injected into monkeys, within days, it has actively infected the intestines. While SIV initially entered the host via the blood, it preferentially replicates in the intestines. What is especially significant is that in monkeys, CD4 T cell depletion due to SIV infection in the intestines precedes SIV infection of the lymphoid tissues (lymph nodes). It is also significant that there are more complaints in persons HIV+ about the gastrointestinal tract at all stages of AIDS than any other single area of the human body.

    This raises three important questions.

    1. Should we not be targeting the intestines with anti-viral treatments for HIV?

    2. Should we not be focusing on treatments to restore mucosal immunity to stop the replication of HIV in the membranes of the intestines?

    3. What are the treatment options most promising to attain both objectives?

    The “AIDS Research Alliance” bombshell.

86% of all HIV in your body replicates primarily in the mucus membranes of the gut and in the lymph nodes. 40 to 60% of all the immune cells in your body are in your gut.

In the winter 98/99 edition of Searchlight,
the official publication of AIDS RESEARCH ALLIANCE of West Hollywood, CA,
is an article by Andrew Korotzer, Ph.D. titled
    “The gut reaction to HIV.”

Korotzer cites research in 3 major scientific publications (1,2,3) including “Nature’s Medicine,” “AIDS” and the “Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences” that indicates that about 14% of HIV replication occurs in the blood while 86% occurs the mucosal membranes of the intestinal tract and in the lymph nodes.

IN OTHER WORDS, AIDS IS NOT PRIMARILY A DISEASE OF THE BLOOD, BUT RATHER OF THE GUT AND THE LYMPH NODES!
These findings have profound implications in designing future treatments for HIV by focusing anti-viral therapy on the areas where the highest concentrations of HIV is found - the intestinal tract and the lymphatic system.

    4. Wong J.K. et al. Proc. Natl. Acad Sci USA (1997) 94:12574-12579.

    Korotzer states:

“Mucosal membranes in the rectum and the urogenital tracts serve as entry points for sexually transmitted HIV; therefore, viral dynamics in these tissues are particularly relevant to the etiology of HIV/IDS. This holds true even for lymphoid tissue in mucosal membranes when the initial infection occurs elsewhere. SIV, a virus related to HIV that infects monkeys, will become established in GALT (Gut-Associated Lymphoid Tissue) within days of infection - even when the virus was inoculated intravenously. This highlights the special vulnerability of GALT to infection with HIV.”

Korotzer cites 3 factors that makes the mucosal membranes of the gut vulnerable to HIV infection. They are

    1. the presence of a large population of activated CD4 helper cells

    2. mucosal membranes in the gut transport digested food material into the body for evaluation by immune cells and

    3. surface molecules that HIV uses as a point to gain entry into the cells (i.e. CD4s) are highly expressed in the gut making them vulnerable to infection.

    Hormone Toxicity.

Too much or too little can make you crazy.
Much of the information noted here is from the companion page in this package. Go to the page at sex-6.htm for more detail.

    Hormone Toxicity Reduction and Balance.

Reduction of high levels of testosterone in the male are similar to those available to a woman:

      • development of communication skills - listening, empathy, ...;
      • meditation, prayer, relaxation --- to reduce frustration, anger;
      • regular exercise to use and reduce "action-demanding" hormones;
      • low-hormone nutritious diet of vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds;
      • non-drug health options: prevention, herbal, balancing, ....;
      • patience & teamwork: commitment to one or few intimate partners;
      • regular sexual expression by masturbation or shared intimacy;
      • reduced chemical exposures to reduce reactive hormonal production;
      • avoidance of erotic representations in advertising and movies.

THIS IS ONE SOLUTION to breast, prostate and testicular cancers: reduced long-term recurrent hormonal toxicity resulting from destructive cultural, religious, and environmental practices. ALL of these environments we have made and we have encouraged. If we really value life, happiness, intimacy, peace and spirituality we can each help change the world in that direction by beginning with ourselves and then mentoring our family, friends, and associates.

CHANGE begins with each of us!
Individuals contributed to formation of each culture.
Individuals can contribute to positive change within each culture.

    North Pole Magnetic Field, Therapy.

Another treatment to reduce inflammation and viral activity in the intestines (or almost any other area of the body) is placing a strong north pole magnetic field over the abdomen for about 1 hour daily. Do this when the stomach is empty. A 4”x6”x«” permanent ceramic magnet will do or a magnet pad might work even better. More information can be found in the book
    Biomagnetic Handbook,”
    by William Philpott MD.
Call EnviroTech at 405-390-3499 for more information.

Note: to induce deeper sleep, a 2” x 5” X«” magnet placed under the pillow works better than the 4”x6”x«” ceramic magnet which in my opinion is too strong. I speak from personal experience. North pole side of magnet should always be facing toward the body.

Note: a magnet should never be placed near the heart of someone with a pacemaker or the pacemaker will stop working. Magnets will also erase your credit cards and do a number on your CDs, cassette tapes and videos. To be safe, keep them at least 18 inches away from these items.

    Aphrodisiacs -- Sexual Libido influencing.

Too much can make you crazy, and, will indicate how ignorant and obsessive you are.

Some of the information noted here is from the companion page in this package. Go to the page at 50-ref-hormones-src.htm for more detail.

Aphrodisiacs WORK by producing an inflammation of erectile tissue which the user either is unable to mentally stimulate into a desired degree of arousal, or, stimulate through physical manipulation. If you have organs, weakened by illness or excess, which are targeted by such compounds, the outcome can be dangerous, even fatal. Many adults who acquire CFS-ME experience a reduction in their arousal ability, temporarily, due to the many hormone disrupting influences they are exposed to. Indeed, the more they "fight" the Package of Illnesses, and the more they Believe and accept the misconceptions about CFS-ME, the more they will hasten to this result. You can avoid all of these influences and recover with greater certainty, and faster.

The following is a list of commonly available aphrodisiacs.
While most of the following are clearly labeled, and may only be obtained through special sources, they are becoming more readily available through health and nutrition stores and websites. It would be prudent to AVOID these, and products which include them, or, NOT to expect any notable benefit from their use. If the bull or the mare are in a coma, kicking them will not make them jump up! You must get them out of the coma first.

      • alcohol
      • avocado
      • broomweed
      • cacao
      • caffeine
      • chocolate
      • clams
      • clavohuasca vine
      • damiana
      • raw eggs
      • ephedra [also, ma huang, Brigham Tea]
      • guarana
      • muira puama
      • oysters
      • rosemary
      • Spanish Fly
      • velvet bean
      • wolf berry
      • yohimbe bark
      • fava beans

It is NOT the items as much as it is the QUANTITY which determines if/when they are stimulants or depressives, and, whether the intensity of the response is health enhancing or health endangering. The use of most foods and herbs is optimum for health when they are integrated into providing a balance of building/cleansing, and stimulation/relaxation.

MORE detail is on this (50-ref-impotency.htm) page.
