Noah and God from
a Spiritually Guided Viewpoint.
And the Lord spoke to Noah and said, "In six months I am going
to make it rain until the whole Earth is covered with water and all of
the evil people are destroyed, but I want to save a few good people and
two of every kind of living thing on the planet. I am ordering you to build
me an ark." And in a flash of lightning, he delivered the specifications
for the ark. "Are you sure," Noah said, confused and weak from the thought
of the work indicated by the blueprints. The Holy Spirit confirmed and
Noah got to work.
Six months later it starts to rain. The Lord cautions, "If you
don't finish the ark, you cannot expect to receive the benefits." And six
months passed. The skies begin to cloud up. Rain began to fall. The Lord
saw that Noah was finishing the ark and still having a few problems.
"Lord," asked Noah, "How can I store enough feed for these goats?"
And the Lord replied, "Use some of it for insulation and for your bedding."
"That's a great idea, Lord," Noah said, and went about the procedures.
And Noah's brother-in-law came over. And he asked Noah, how did
you manage to build this monstrous thing. Until you started this, I never
saw you lift a branch or a tool. And Noah replied, "Every time I didn't
know what next to do, I asked my Spiritual Guide. And, immediately I had
the answer. In fact, sometimes, I could hardly keep up to the instructions
and feedback I was receiving. I must admit I am truly amazed at what I
have been able to build with God's help. I have never seen a boat like
this before I built it. But it does seem to be seaworthy. See how it is
floating better almost every hour.
And Noah's brother-in-law uttered. "You know how you asked me
to help you with this. Well, I couldn't just then. But I would be willing
to feed the cattle if you take me with you. I'll just go and get Martha
and you can tell me when I return."
Noah's cousin came by the ark.
"How did you manage to get all of those animals in your ship?"
You say you just took a few at a time, as your Holy Spirit guided you.
Looks awfully difficult putting all of this together. Well, yes, I can
expect that if I had helped, it would have been less of a burden for you.
But I must say, I never expected that you would actually finish it. And
how could I believe that story you told of God telling you that there would
be a flood that would come all the way up to these foothills. I know that
has never happened before. Yes, I have to admit that anything is possible
with the help of God, even a great flood and the knowledge to build an
ark.
Now you tell me that I can learn how to hear God's message for
me through my Spirit Guide. Oh, you did tell me before. Well, I must have
missed it. Do you think I could learn now! You say it is time to bed down
the animals and that it will take a while to learn how to access this knowledge.
Maybe you could show me how next year. You say next year will be too late.
Well, I'll take my chances, this time.
It has really been quite a miracle in many ways when you think
of it, Noah was telling to his son. It took me 70 years to build this hulk
but every day there was just as much work as I could do after I got home
from my job. I kept worrying that the Flood might come before I could get
finished. The Holy Ghost assured me that I would have enough time, if,
I kept on the schedule it continued to reveal for me. Sometimes I would
just get so tired I could hardly think. But, that was OK. That allowed
my Personal Spirit to access my Higher Self easier because my Ego and SuperEgo
were too tired to interfere. And then, sometimes, when I just got so committed
to my Higher Self that I didn't think of myself, It would reward my physical
nature and conscious awareness with the greatest of meals or a really special
sunset, or, time with valued friends or relatives.
I was really quite surprised at how the neighbors came to leave
me and the ark alone. I always made sure to clean up the mess at the end
of the day and to close down the noise. I kept them informed on my progress
and shared some of my garden produce with them, just like in other years.
I know they gossiped and told nasty stories about what we were doing. I
just ignored them. Eventually, they came to respect my oddities and tolerate
me. So, I have been able to finish just in time, as You planned.
Now, we are all ready, shall I close the hatch next?
OK, Lord, Here we go, Your Way!

COMMENT
IF you understand the relevancy of the above metaphor, then you are capable of choice and free thought and have a potential or reality of a spiritual perspective. You understand that it is a reference to how one of our Identity Factors (Ego, SuperEgo, or Personal Spirit) will tend to perceive the reality.
The parable/metaphor, often common in verbal histories which formed the basis of hunting and gathering (and herding), tribal (hunting, fishing, agrarian), and early town cultures ... expressed the SPIRIT of the reality through word pictures freely understood by the shared experiences of the communicating group. Later outsiders to these groups, lacking in the shared experiences and seeking to place magical and powerful value on the words, without regard to the meaning, would demonstrate their insecurities by eliminating the colors and relevancy of the SPIRITUAL Truths and reducing them to their own versions of Black and White.
No one ever said anyone was forced to believe whatever was written by anyone. We all have choice and God gave us the emotions and intellect to turn that choice into wisdom by virtue of our own experiences, honesty, openness, and, scepticism clarified by asking humbly for Spiritual Guidance from God as a confirmation for meaning.
IF you have arrived at this page with an Authoritarian attitude or imprinting, then you are justifiably angry and annoyed. The content here calls your belief in the MAGIC of Words and the Reverence for HUMAN Authority into question. These are your gods, confirmed by your reactions. Leave, and go back to the safety of your IDOLS. They are not disputed here. IF you must worship them, that IS your choice.
IF you have arrived at this page with a New Age attitude or imprinting, then you may simply, and incorrectly, perceive this parable as a friendly, child-like, idealistic, and uncommited acceptance of all styles of expression within humanity as somehow spiritual. It is not.
IF it is a parable of the Ego perspective, it is a description of how we like to perceive reality when we are self-centered, immature, and lacking in empathy or compassion.
IF it is a parable of the SuperEgo perspective, it is a description of how humanity is often encouraged by self-centered human institutions to divert one's personal authority to that of self-appointed humans and treat them as gods.
IF it is a parable of the Spiritual perspective, it is a description of how anyone with a true Reverence for God, can perceive the interaction of a human representative with a God who is loving enough to always be available to provide direction, yet, always assertive enough to allow us the choice to proudly make out own mistakes by denying the direction God would have us take for optimum contentment.
As you have found your way here, you must decide for yourself what the significance of the page is for you.
