Lead is a bluish-white lustrous metal.
It is very soft, highly malleable, ductile, and a relatively poor conductor of electricity.
It is very resistant to corrosion but tarnishes upon exposure to air.
Lead isotopes are the end products of each of the three series of naturally occurring radioactive elements.
Applications
Lead pipes bearing the insignia of Roman emperors, used as drains from the baths, are still in service.
Alloys include pewter and solder.
Tetraethyl lead (PbEt4) is still used in some grades of petrol (gasoline) but is being phased out on environmental grounds.
Lead is a major constituent of the lead-acid battery used extensively in car batteries.
It is used as a coloring element in ceramic glazes, as projectiles, in some candles to treat the wick. It is the traditional base metal for organ pipes, and it is used as electrodes in the process of electrolysis. One if its major uses is in the glass of computer and television screens, where it shields the viewer from radiation. Other uses are in sheeting, cables, solders, lead crystal glassware, ammunitions, bearings and as weight in sport equipment.
Lead in the environment
Native lead is rare in nature.
Currently lead is usually found in ore with zinc, silver and copper and it is extracted together with these metals.
The main lead mineral is Galena (PbS) and there are also deposits of cerrussite and anglesite which are mined.
Galena is mined in Australia, which produces 19% of the world's new lead, followed by the USA, China, Peru' and Canada. Some is also mined in Mexico and West Germany. World production of new lead is 6 million tonnes a year, and workable reserves total are estimated 85 million tonnes, which is less than 15 year's supply.
Lead occurs naturally in the environment.
However, most lead concentrations that are found in the environment are a result of human activities.
Due to the application of lead in gasoline an unnatural lead-cycle has consisted.
In car engines lead is burned, so that lead salts (chlorines, bromines, oxides) will originate.
These lead salts enter the environment through the exhausts of cars. The larger particles will drop to the ground immediately and pollute soils or surface waters, the smaller particles will travel long distances through air and remain in the atmosphere. Part of this lead will fall back on earth when it is raining. This lead-cycle caused by human production is much more extended than the natural lead-cycle. It has caused lead pollution to be a worldwide issue.

Lead is a soft metal that has known many applications over the years.
It has been used widely since 5000 BC for application in metal products, cables and pipelines, but also in paints and pesticides.
Lead is one out of four metals that have the most damaging effects on human health.
It can enter the human body through uptake of food (65%), water (20%) and air (15%).
Foods such as fruit, vegetables, meats, grains, seafood, soft drinks and wine may contain significant amounts of lead.
Cigarette smoke also contains small amounts of lead.
Lead can enter (drinking) water through corrosion of pipes.
This is more likely to happen when the water is slightly acidic.
That is why public water treatment systems are now required to carry out pH-adjustments in water that will serve drinking purposes.
For as far as we know, lead fulfills no essential function in the human body, it can merely do harm after uptake from food, air or water.
Lead can cause several unwanted effects, such as:
-
Disruption of the biosynthesis of haemoglobin and anaemia
- A rise in blood pressure
- Kidney damage
- Miscarriages and subtle abortions
- Disruption of nervous systems
- Brain damage
- Declined fertility of men through sperm damage
- Diminished learning abilities of children
- Behavioural disruptions of children, such as aggression, impulsive behavior and hyperactivity
Lead can enter a foetus through the placenta of the mother.
Because of this it can cause serious damage to the nervous system and the brains of unborn children.

Not only leaded gasoline causes lead concentrations in the environment to rise.
Other human activities, such as fuel combustion, industrial processes and solid waste combustion, also contribute.
Lead can end up in water and soils through corrosion of leaded pipelines in a water transporting system and through corrosion of leaded paints. It cannot be broken down; it can only converted to other forms.
Lead accumulates in the bodies of water organisms and soil organisms.
These will experience health effects from lead poisoning.
Health effects on shellfish can take place even when only very small concentrations of lead are present.
Body functions of phytoplankton can be disturbed when lead interferes.
Phytoplankton is an important source of oxygen production in seas and many larger sea-animals eat it.
That is why we now begin to wonder whether lead pollution can influence global balances.
Soil functions are disturbed by lead intervention, especially near highways and farmlands, where extreme concentrations may be present. Soil organisms then suffer from lead poisoning, too.
Lead is a particularly dangerous chemical, as it can accumulate in individual organisms, but also in entire food chains.

Notes from a Urine Element Analysis, Accession Number: 577724, Date: 2017-08-20
Provided by Rocky Mountain Analytical, Calgary, AB T3R 0H9
Urine is a significant excretory pathway for lead, but it is by no means a uniformly reliable indicator of blood lead.
Food contains lead, depending on the level of contamination in the air, water, and soil where the food is grown.
People of all ages may gain exposure to lead through drinking water from an older plumbing system which still uses lead pipes.
Adults often come in contact with lead unknowingly through
- stripping old lead-based paint. ...
- handling/loading bullets and ...
- indoor shooting.
Fumes from some types of electrical solder may contain lead.
Note that use of lead-containing hair dye products will elevate hair lead levels significantly; systemic absorption of lead through the scalp, from use of these products is low, but lead can still be introduced systemically in these instances, via hand-to-mouth LINK (http://www.uwsp.edu/geo/courses/geog100/Mielkel-fairLead1.htm).
Herbal Remedies may occasionally contain lead, especially if sourced outside of North America.
Some ceramic glazes (pottery, dishes) are known to contain lead and children may be exposed to lead by chewing on toys manufactured outside of North America. Other sources of lead include industrial processes (smelting and alloying of lead, manufacture of lead acid storage batteries, manufacture of certain polymers e.g. PVC).
Children are more sensitive to lead than adults; in children, lead is associated with
- development delays,
- impaired hearing,
- impaired growth, and
- decreased IQ.
Lead accumulates in bone marrow and impairs heme synthesis.
Conditions which result in bone remodeling, such as growth, osteoporosis and other pathological changes to bone can release lead for redistribution to other tissues.
Chronic abdominal complaints (cramping, pain, nausea, poor appetite) may attend higher levels of lead exposure.
Anemia can be present in both adults and children with chronic levels of lead exposure.
In adults, lead exposure has been associated with increased levels of
- irritability,
- hostility,
- depression,
- interpersonal difficulties, and,
- difficulty concentrating, as well as
- peripheral sensory and motor neuropathies.
Lead may exacerbate the toxic effects of other elements including cadmium and mercury, and lead uptake from the diet may be exacerbated by deficiency in iron, calcium, and zinc.
NOTE for patients older than age 60.
Lead accumulates in bone over many decades.
If and when bone is lost for example due to osteoporosis, stored lead may be released on an ongoing basis. ... this may explain current lead levels on the basis of recent and historical exposures.

Dr. Joseph Mercola, (2008-09-12)
.. Flakes of lead paint from old homes often create contamination around houses that vegetables can take up.
Remnants of leaded gasoline might also be in the soil near busy roads.
.. apple orchards .. lead arsenate was once used regularly as a pesticide.
.. Even tiny amounts of lead in the blood can cause
- learning disabilities ..
- behavioral problems. ..
- high blood pressure,
- reproductive problems, and
- memory loss.
Plant foods do tend to contain some level of lead naturally, as plants absorb soil lead very efficiently, and also retain the lead they have absorbed.
Approximately 7 percent of the lead in the soil will be taken up by the plants growing in it.
Excessive lead levels will kill the plant entirely. ..
Good varieties to grow due to their reduced lead uptake include:
- Tomatoes
- Squash
- Peas
- Corn
Your best bet is to build or buy a raised garden container, and fill it with organic topsoil.
That way you know what your vegetables are growing in. Adding mulch on top of other areas of your yard, such as your flowerbeds, will keep any contamination there from spreading to your vegetable garden.
How to Test Your Soil for Lead
.. The soil should be sampled by taking 6 to 12 subsamples from the area in question.
For garden soils, take your samples 3 to 4 inches from the surface.
Mix the subsamples thoroughly in a plastic pail, then remove about one cup for testing.
Make sure you use a clean container.
If you suspect high levels of lead in your soil, it may be more desirable to send your soil sample out to a professional lab.
IATL offers several different types of testing, worldwide, including lead tests.
http://monitoring.environmental-expert.com/STSE_resulteach.aspx?cid=5328
.. fluoridated water supplies can increase children's absorption of lead, and, when lead is introduced into your body in sufficient quantities it displaces zinc, which also disrupts brain cell growth. Therefore, installing a high quality water filter in your home is always a prudent idea, especially if you have children.
Low vitamin D and C intake can also adversely affect lead levels, causing more lead to accumulate.
Adults should not have levels over 25 µg/dl to avoid hypertensive symptoms. ..

2007/10/30/how-do-you-know-if-you-have-lead-poisoning.aspx
Dr. Joseph Mercola, 2007-10-30
Learn how to spot the early signs of lead poisoning to protect yourself, and your family, from harm. ..
Although lead levels have dropped since 1978 -- when the substance was banned for use in house paint, on products marketed to children, and in dishes and cookware -- children can still develop lead poisoning after exposure to paint chips in older homes, drinking water from old plumbing that has been soldered with lead, or from imported toys.
NOTE: In Canada, although lead was banned in paints by regulation in the late 1970s, it was not enforced.
The reality of preventable lead toxicity in children and adults continued to increase until acute levels prompted testing.
Lead continued to be added to paints until an expose in the early 1990's strongly shamed politicians, bureaucrats, and law enforcement officers to provide funding and enforcement. It was then replaced by titanium, as it had been elsewhere in the world.
... Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) lead may still be used in two aspects of toy manufacturing.
http://www.cdc.gov/nceh/lead/faq/toys.htm
Paint: Lead is still widely used in other countries and can therefore still be found on imported toys. It may also be found on older toys made in the United States before the ban.
Plastic: The use of lead in plastics has not been banned.
http://v.mercola.com/blogs/public_blog/The-Plastic-Poisons-That-Surround-Us-17361.aspx
It softens the plastic and makes it more flexible so that it can go back to its original shape.
It may also be used in plastic toys to stabilize molecules from heat. When the plastic is exposed to substances such as sunlight, air, and detergents the chemical bond between the lead and plastics breaks down and forms a dust.
I recommend that, if you have children, you pay close attention to any toy recalls due to lead contamination, because children are notorious for putting things into their mouths, virtually guaranteeing some lead absorption into their small bodies.
Even low levels of lead are harmful, and are associated with:
- Decreased intelligence
- Impaired neurobehavioral development
- Decreased stature and growth
- Impaired hearing acuity
There is also plenty of evidence that lead may have some causal effect in relation to ADHD.
One author of a previous study states:
attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
Similar to the effects observed in children diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), experimental animals exposed to lead (Pb) exhibit behaviors attributed to "impulsivity" and 'inability to inhibit inappropriate responding.'"
(Pharmacol Biochem Behav 1998 Jun;60(2):545-52)
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/...PubMed&list_uids=9632239&dopt=Abstract
Another study examined the lead concentrations in children's hair samples and compared them the attention-deficit behaviors. The authors state:
The striking dose-response relationship between levels of lead and negative teacher ratings remained significant ... An even stronger relationship existed between physician-diagnosed attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder and hair lead ... There was no apparent 'safe' threshold for lead. Scalp hair should be considered a useful clinical and epidemiologic approach for the measurement of chronic low-level lead exposure in children.
(Arch Environ Health 1996 May-Jun;51(3):214-20).

fluoridated water:
http://www.mercola.com/1999/archive/fluoridation_increases_lead_absorption_in_children.htm
Making the possibility of lead poisoning even worse are the studies showing that fluoridated water supplies can increase children's absorption of lead, and, when lead is introduced into your body in sufficient quantities, it displaces zinc, which disrupts brain cell growth.
A chelating process called DMSA can help extract not only lead, but also mercury, cadmium, arsenic, antimony, and may other heavy metalsfrom your body. Heavy metals suppress the effect of a number of enzymes, some of which can be easily tested to see if you may be suffering from an excess of these heavy metals. For more in-depth information about this process, I recommend reading the Mercury Detox Autism Protocol.

This was confirmed by John R. Sennett as at least one significant factor contributing to this form of CFS-ME, benefited by the Marshall Protocol. Following the initial requirements of seclusion from daylight, wearing No-UV radiation wraparound sunglasses, and taking a daily combination of Benicar and Minocycline. These measures, started in May, 2007, reduced his fatigue markedly within several months.
In late 2003, when John had acquired CFS-ME severe symptoms within days, he began to notice two peculiar symptoms. His skull appeared to expand such that his non tight fitting eyeglass frames gradually made an impression into the side of his head. He also frequently felt that his head was heavy or stuffy. He also noticed that while he had spent much of his life of 55 years out-of-doors and frequently found such to be invigorating, he was not now long out-of-doors before becoming severely fatigued. Planning any travel for business or pleasure became impossible. Over the next 4 years he would mention these symptoms to numerous doctors, medical specialists, alternative therapists .. only to receive blank stares.
During July, 2007, John took a 24-hr heavy metals challenge urine test.
In late August he received the results indicating a high presence of lead.
None had been indicated in a number of blood tests and hair analyses earlier and many intravenous chelation treatments had been taken over the previous 18 months. During October and November, John took TymBak water and Frequency Balancing treatments. By the end of December, John no longer tested positive to continue the Marshall Protocol and did not experience the rapid onset of fatigue when exposed to sunlight or products containing vitamin D.
John found the following references during his recovery.

Last year, a remarkable study published in the journal Basic & Clinical Pharmacology & Toxicology revealed something very special about garlic: it is a natural detoxifier of lead and is not only as effective as a common chelation drug known as d-penicillamine at pulling this metal out of the body but is also much safer.
The study was titled, "Comparison of therapeutic effects of garlic and d-penicillamine in patients with chronic occupational lead poisoning," and sought to confirm previous research in animals that showed garlic (Allium sativum) is effective in reducing blood and tissue lead concentrations.
The study took the measurements of the blood lead concentrations of 117 workers at a car battery plant who were randomly assigned to two groups of garlic (1.2 milligrams of allicin from approximately 1,000 mg of garlic extract, three times daily) and d-penicillamine (250 mg, three times daily) and treated for 4 weeks. Clinical signs and symptoms of lead poisoning were also investigated and compared with the initial findings.
Clearly, despite the near equal reduction in measurable blood lead concentrations in both groups, improvements in various measured clinical manifestations were only found in the garlic group. Also, side effects were higher in the d-penicillamine group. These results clearly indicate the superiority of garlic over the drug and underscore how drug-based interventions often end up 'normalizing' target values, e.g. blood lead concentrations, without resulting in improvement in the quality of life or even the objective clinical signs and subjective symptoms of the treated patient; to the contrary, often the patient feels and is much worse off following drug treatment.
Lead exposure is ubiquitous in our modern age, and has been estimated to account for approximately 0.2% of all deaths and 0.6% of disability adjusted life years globally. Exposure to this heavy metal results in harm to the cardiovascular, skeletal, gastrointestinal, kidney, reproductive and nervous systems of the human body. It has been identified to be particularly harmful to infants and children, whose developing nervous systems are far more susceptible to lead toxicity than those of adults. In fact, a 2008 PLoS study found decreased brain volume in adults who had been exposed to lead as children.
The standard of care involving drugs such as d-penicillamine is dismal, considering that the chemical has been linked to the following side effects:
- Anemia, Aplastic
- Breast Enlargement
- Anorexia
- Bone Marrow Suppression
- Collagen Disorders
- Diarrhea
- Dysgeusia (distorted taste)
- Kidney Damage
- Liver Damage
- Muscle Damage
The chemical is so toxic that the total incidence of side effects from d-penicillamine treatment is 30-60%, with a withdrawal rate of 20-30%.
Garlic, on the other hand, is a commonly enjoyed culinary spice worldwide with a wide range of potential side benefits and a high margin of safety. In a previous article titled, How Garlic Can Save Your Life, we discussed the sizable body of research gathered on the GreenMedInfo.com database on the over 150 health conditions garlic has been researched to be potentially beneficial for.
Additionally, our open access database project, which now contains over 2600 ailments indexed, has a section on "Lead Poisoning," which includes research on 23 substances that may help ameliorate the effects of lead exposure and/or toxicity, and which can be viewed here: Natural Agents for Lead Poisoning.

... The simple, and proper dose of adding chlorella – an intestinal absorbing agent, the retoxificaiton of the system is prohibited. Clinical studies completed recently proved that heavy metal chelation [using cilantro and chlorella] can naturally remove an average of 87% of lead, 91% of mercury, and 74% of aluminum from the body within 42 days.
Cilantro is best used in conjunction with chlorella because it, “mobilizes more toxins then it can carry out of the body, it may flood the connective tissue (where the nerves reside) with metals, that were previously stored in safer hiding places.” This can cause retoxificaiton if another binding agent isn’t used to help rid the body of the heavy metals that are ‘found’ in their hiding places throughout the body.
People who have eaten large salads daily full of cilantro have experienced this effect – moodiness, terrible acne, joint pain and more. While they were mobilizing heavy metals, they weren’t all excreted from the body fast enough, which meant they were detoxing and toxifying themselves the same time!
Simply by adding chlorella "an intestinal absorbing agent, the retoxificaiton of the system is prohibited.

The properties of chlorella lend themselves nicely
to aiding cilantro for detoxifying the body, LINK:
- Chlorella is antiviral.
- It binds to dioxins and other environmental toxins.
- It repairs the body's detoxification functions.
- Improves glutathione "the bodies master" antioxidant.
- Binds to heavy metals exceptionally well.
- Alpha and gamma lineolic acids in chlorella help increase the intake of fish oil and other important fatty acids.
- Methyl-coblolamine repairs the nervous system and damaged neurons which often suffer from heavy metal poisoning.
- Chlorella contains the most easily absorbed form of B12 and B6.
- Chlorella is high in amino acids, and thus ideal for vegetarians.
- Chlorella is able to open cell walls, which is necessary for detox processes.
- Chlorella restores healthy gut flora.
- Chlorella is still being studied for its detoxifying effects, since
science cannot fully understand how it has developed over millions of
years to be so effective in ridding the body of unwanted substances.
- This PDF describes very specific chelation dosing when using chlorella.

Dosing with Chlorella/Cilantro for Neurotoxin Elimination
Cilantro has its own chelation benefits:
- Highly effective metal toxin binding agent and mobilizer.
- Powerful anti-inflammatory.
- Antibacterial.
- Increases HDL cholesterol and decreases LDL.
- Prevents gas and bloating.
- Wards off urinary tract infections.
- Eases hormonal swings during menopause and menstruation.
- Can reduce nausea.
- Adds fiber to the digestive tract -- an effective bulking agent.
- Fights anemia with high levels of iron, and magnesium.
- Reduces minor swelling.
- Promotes liver health.
- Can be used as an expectorant.
As a final note, just be sure your magnesium levels are high before starting any serious chelation program, since this trace mineral helps to promote "relaxed" arteries and can make elimination of toxins easier on the body.

Removing neurotoxins from your bowel is critical for successful treatment of heavy metal, toxic chemical, chronic infection detoxification as well as endogenous toxins that are produced by the “bad” bugs in the bowel and exogenous toxins that we eat. Toxicity, specifically neurotoxicity, is one of the root causes of all chronic diseases.
The importance of binding neurotoxins and removing them in the feces is outlined in the end “Understanding Neurotoxins...” Chlorella is our food of choice for detoxing the bowel and body, because it is not only a great chelator but a very important food supplying many vital nutrients required to detox and change your internal body chemistry (or internal milieu) to a healthier environment. Other alternatives to bowel detox of neurotoxins are apple pectin, Zeolite, chitosan, charcoal, clay and cholestyramin.
Chlorella is both a chelator – moving heavy metals out of the body and a mobilizer, moving mercury and other heavy metals from deeper stores to more readily removal areas. We use in it both capacities.
-
There are three strategies to dosing chlorella:
- Low dose: .25 – 1 gram with meals: this dose will bind mercury and other heavy metals in the food that you eat (i.e. mercury in fish).
- Mobilizing dose: 3-9 grams per day; the dose could be taken all at once or divided with meals, at night. (See below).
- Chelating dose: 2-3 times the mobilizing dose - to be used during chelation days.
-
There are two strategies concerning when and how much chlorella to dose
- Take the entire mobilizing dose at one time once or twice a day 1 hour away from food.
This is the best strategy for gut detox because it concentrates the chlorella in the gut, scrubbing the heavy metals from the biofilm, gut lining and the pathogens. This strategy is often used earlier in the detox treatment, when bowel functional restoration is important.
- Once the gut and extra cellular connective tissues have been detoxed for at least 1 month (for some longer), chlorella and cilantro are used
for the most effective detox combination. The strategy is to take chlorella 30-60 minutes before meals and/ or at night before bed followed by cilantro. This strategy will be most effective in removing neurotoxins that are detoxed in the liver and delivered to the bowel from the bile.
Chlorella is very complimentary with other detox agents and support agents, which can be used for more efficient and effective detox.
- Processed (nanonizing chlorella products):Matrix Metals, NDF, Metal Free 2
- Vitamin C and antioxidants, Ecklonia Cava; Minerals and electrolytes
- Sulfur products: MSM, DL Methionine, taurine, garlic, NAC
- Zeolites: Alli-thiamin
- Phospho lipids with Ca EDTA ...
- OSR
- Chelating agents: DMPS, DMSA, Na EDTA, D-Penicillamine, glutathione
- 45-60 min. prior to cilantro dose;
- with the meals
- or at bed for brain detox.
All Vitamin C supplements at end of meal, or another meal.
Note: If fish oils are taken, you may want to take with chlorella.
Mobilizing phase:
10-14 days prior to your scheduled chelation appointment, start your maintenance dose of Chlorella.
- The most important strategy is to take the Chlorella, how and when is secondary.
Make life as simple as possible
- It is best for some to start slow with chlorella ˝ -1 gram at first and add ˝ to 1 gram per day until you have obtained your recommended mobilizing dose.
- In the early phases of detox, it is best to take your dose away from food by at least one hour and entire dose can be taken at one time. This will detox the GI better than if chlorella is eaten with meals
- If you have GI disturbance with chlorella, divide your dose and take with meals.
Although this will provide less bowel detox action, but it may be easier on the stomach.
-
When mobilizing mercury with chlorella and cilantro, it is best to take your dose (divided) chlorella dose 45-60 min. prior to your meal; then your cilantro with the meal. If fish oils are taken, it is best to take the fish oils with the chlorella. Vitamin C will inactivate the action of chlorella and cilantro, therefore do not supplement Vitamin C at that meal or take as far away from the chlorella or cilantro doses. That is why we recommend taking Vitamin C at the end of the meal or best at another meal.
- Fish oils may contain mercury.
Therefore it is advisable to dose your chlorella with the fish oils (to bind the mercury).
Fish oils are an important strategy to rehabilitate the membranes, which are always a problem in all chronic health issues.
- Chewing the chlorella is the best because saliva will tag the chlorella naturally (with monoclonal antibodies) and delivered to the most receptive areas.
- If you have continued problems with chlorella, try adding cellulose (an enzyme able to be purchased- health food store). If still a problem, switch to Porpha-zyme, or one of the clatherating agents (NDF, PCA, Metal Free)
- The gut is the major route for heavy metal detoxification, therefore the gut must be functioning well with (hopefully multiple bowel movements per day). If not, re-absorption of the mercury is likely to occur.
Chelating phase:
The day prior to your chelation appointment double or triple the dose, and continue the doubled dose the day of the chelation and the day after.
- This is a chelation dose of chlorella is designed to move the mercury out (through the bowel).
- This dosing can be used as a naturopathic chelation by itself, or in conjunction with other chelation methods (i.e. DMPS, DMSA, EDTA, D-Penicillimine), which has been shown to greatly enhance the yield.
- The day after the chelation we usually schedule a vitamin and mineral IV with glutathione, which is also a chelator with a slightly different action. The chelation dose of chlorella is extended to cover the day of this therapy.
- The detox spa can greatly enhance the detox of neurotoxins - mercury and other heavy metals, toxic chemicals chronic infection neurotoxins .... It is best to do detox spa procedures the day after the IV chelation. The procedures to consider are:
- Lymphatic treatment – KLM (micro-current), massage, Chi machine
- Skin detox: Infra- red sauna or ozone steam; Mercury vapor lamp
- Bowel: colonics
- Detox foot baths: Toxaway, Aqua Chi, BEFE;
stimulates the kidney and liver meridian at the feet to effectively increase toxin elimination activity of both organs. There is also direct active lymphatic excretion of toxins across the soles of the feet.
- This devise is always used during the chelation day.
Post-chelation phase:
For 3-5 days after the finish of the chelating dose take the mobilizing dose in divided dosages with meals.
- To bind the mercury from its release in the liver
- This is the time to do gall bladder flushes and to take additional GI binders
3.Stabilization phase:
Don’t take the maintenance dose until the start of the next cycle.
- If eating fish or other mercury contaminated products, take ˝ -1 grams of chlorella with meal to bind the mercury.
Understanding the elimination of neurotoxins using chlorella/ cilantro Chlorella is a very important food for detoxifying all neurotoxins from the bowel.
Chlorella is the only intelligent chelator, very effectively removes neurotoxins but also a whole and complete natural food supplying a rich source of amino acids, essential fatty acids, B-12 and vitamins and minerals. Some consider Chlorella to be one of the best natural foods available, it is by far the largest health food eaten by more people world-wide.
Neurotoxins include:
- toxic heavy metals (mercury, lead cadmium, aluminum ...);
- toxic chemicals (phthalates and other plasticizers; benzene, stirene, formaldehyde, dioxin, insecticides, solvents, PCB’s...)
- biodoxins from chronic infections (lyme, botulinum, parasites, clamydia, TB, fungus, Candida, virus to name a few), and
- other endogenous and exogenous neurotoxins (foods, preservatives, cosmetics, bad gut bugs).
Neurotoxins are not excreted easily; Neurotoxins are naturally excreted from the bowel via the liver and bile.
Unfortunately neurotoxins are naturally and mostly re-absorbed in the bowel by its vast nervous complex (enteric nervous system) and then redistributed into first the liver then to the brain, peripheral nerves, cellular membranes fat or other bodily compartments.
To effectively remove the neurotoxin, they need to be effectively bound in the upper part of the small intestine, when the bile is secreted during digestion. Chlorella eaten with food or dosing chlorella 1 hour prior to a cilantro dose will bind the neurotoxin in the bile with the chlorella and carry it out in the feces. Cilantro causes the liver to release the bile. Cilantro is also an important source of organic selenium, a very important mineral in heavy metal detox. The action of cilantro is quick (about 20 min). Cilantro mobilizes mercury and other neurotoxins from the cell membranes but does not chelate (or pull them out well). Therefore an important detox strategy is to have chlorella on board at the time of mobilization (taking cilantro) to more effectively chelate the metals out.
Chlorella is a major nutrient in Heavy Metal Detoxification
A. General comments:
- Chlorella is the most studied nutrient (2000 pier reviewed articles mostly Asian)
- Can be used prior to Hg filling removal [1-2 weeks] and is part of the pre-dental protocol.
It won’t remove Hg from fillings (like other chelating agents), so it can be used safely with Hg fillings in the mouth (pre-dental protocol).
-
Binds heavy metals in the gut, and from the blood circulating through the bowel wall.
The clatherating agents or HM binding peptides appear to pass through the bowel and enter the blood stream and extra cellular spaces. It
does not cross the brain barrier.
- Chlorella binds strongly to all Heavy Metals and therefore can become contaminated with HM easily; some sources appear to be contaminated; quality is important.
- Can be used as a mobilizing agent or chelating agent depending upon the dosage.
- Chlorella is an excellent food for detox, complete source of amino acids, B12, essential fatty acids and good mineral source; green foods are very good for gut health and alkalizing the body; it has anti bacterial and viral properties, and enhances growth hormone.
- There are two species of chlorella that are important for detox:
-
C. pyreneidosa is better for the absorption of toxins, but harder to digest, 5
-
C. vulgaris has a higher amount of chlorella growth factor content, is easier to digest but less metal binding capability Detox properties of Chlorella (most in peer review)
- Anti-viral – CMV and other herpes V
- Toxin binding (muco-polysaccharide membrane) – toxic metals, environmental toxins (use for Toxic Chemical detox concurrently)
- Repairs and activates the body’s detoxification functions:
- Dramatically increases reduced glutathione
- Various peptides restore coeruloplasmin and metallothionine
- Sporopollein effective in binding neurotoxins (as effective as cholestyramin) and more effective in binding toxic metals than any other
natural substance
- Lipids (12.4%) of alpha and gamma linoleic acid – for membrane and peroxisomes rehabilitation.
- Methyl-cobalamin (B12) – important in any nervous system detox and restoration
- Chlorella growth factor – detox but not well understood (specific peptides for every toxic mental)
- Porphyrins in chlorophyll have strong metal binding effect;
Chlorophyll activates the PPAR receptor on the nucleus of the cell, which is responsible for peroxisome coding (turn on the gene), opening the cell wall (important for all detox procedures), normalizing insulin resistance and more. Note that medical drugs that activate the PPAR receptor (pioglaiazone) effective in treatment of breast and prostate cancer.
- Super nutrient: 50-60% amino acid (good for vegetarians), methyl-cobalamine, minerals, vitamins, chlorophyll
- Immune system tonic
- Restores bowel flora by reducing the heavy metal binding on the pathogenic bacteria and fungus, thereby reducing their competitive
advantage with the beneficial bacteria
- Digestive aid
- “Alkalinizing agent” Klinghardt
Caution: Sulfur-rich foods release cellular toxins.

by Andrew Hall Cutler
RELEASING toxins and heavy metals from cells, tissues, and organs into one's blood is NOT Detoxing.
Detoxing requires a Mobilization of the toxins such that they are accessible to metabolic processes, AND,
methylation (capture) of those substances, possibly by Glutathione, so they can be excreted.
The first step gives one the Symptoms of the influence of the toxicity.
The second step brings one the Freedom from the destructive influences and their symptoms.
Vitamins, Oxygen (exercise), and sulfur-rich foods are contributors to the FIRST Step.
Frequently, what mobilizes Mercury, also mobilizes Arsenic and other heavy metals.
Sulfur rich Foods:
The best sulfur foods are the ones that are rich in protein, and specifically - in amino acids cysteine and methionine, the only two major sulfur-containing amino acids.
The third, lesser known sulfur amino acid, taurine, can be found in animal protein only, and can also be synthesized from cysteine and methionine in the body.
Another significant source of sulfur in our diets is MSM (short for "methylsulfonylmethane"), an organic compound that is 34% sulfur by weight. MSM supplement has been shown in animal studies and one human trial to significantly improve blood glutathione levels and the activity of glutathione enzymes in the presence of high oxidative stress.
We get most of the sulfur we need from animal foods with high methionine and/or cysteine content (all preferably organic grass fed, free range, wild caught to minimize exposure to toxins):
- meats
- poultry
- organ meats
- traditionally prepared bone broths
- gelatin
- collagen
- fish and sea food
- eggs
- raw milk
- yogurt
- cheese
- undenatured whey protein
Raw milk and other raw dairy are the best animal sources of MSM.
Bone broths also contain MSM because some of it remains dissolved in liquid.
Undenatured whey protein is an excellent source of bonded cysteine that is used by cells to synthesize the all-important glutathione.
It is not easy to determine sulfur content in foods because the amounts depend greatly on the quality of soil and farming practices.
Some people are allergic to sulfa drugs and inorganic sulfites, but usually can eat sulfur foods without any ill effects
INDEX
In his excellent book “Amalgam Illness: Diagnosis and Treatment”, Andy Cutler informs us that many mercury-toxic people are intolerant to certain foods, commonly known as ‘sulfur foods’, which have a high free thiol content. Consuming foods high in thiols raises the circulating thiol levels which in turn mobilizes mercury and creates symptoms.
He notes, “You typically get a couple of hours of feeling good, energized, happy, and then libidinous, then you feel tired, draggy and depressed, which goes on for a day to a week. Of course if you are eating sulfur foods at each meal these all get stacked up and you can never figure out what is happening.”
The onset of reaction of symptoms is fairly prompt, with the tired/icky/depressed part starting within a few hours, and can last for 4-7 days. You might even enjoy eating these foods and believe that they do you no harm, but their reactions can cause you a lot of undue suffering.
Important: It is only food that contains a high level of free thiol groups, and not literally any food that contains elemental sulfur in any form, that are the culprits.
“You’ll find a lot of misleading ‘sulfur’ lists on the web. I’m talking about those compounds that are thiols or that metabolically convert to them, not to the total amount of elemental sulfur in the food. Some forms don’t convert very much and are tolerated at much higher levels than others. E. g. meat is in theory quite sulfury, but in fact a lot of the sulfur stays in the methionine rather than thiol form so it is a less potent thiol source than an elemental analysis would suggest. Especially if you are taking TMG or choline which helps provide methyl groups so the methionine doesn’t need to get metabolized.” ...
Andy notes: “I estimate that 33-50% of mercury toxic people have elevated plasma cysteine”, which effectively means that those people will battle with sulfur foods. In essence, everybody planning to chelate should do a sulfur exclusion trial at least once to determine if there is a sensitivity to sulphur foods and avoid a lot of suffering. ...
If your health improves while off the sulfur foods and regresses after adding them back, you have an intolerance to them and should avoid them. When you are on a low thiol diet, do not eat ANY amount of high thiol foods.
Sulfur food intolerance in mercury toxic people has more to do with the mobilization of mercury caused by raised cysteine levels and excess thiols, rather than a direct allergy/intolerance to sulfur foods per se. Either way, you will need to avoid them if you show an intolerance to them, or, as some people have found, keep them to an absolute minimum. It seems there is a critical threshold of high thiol food intake for many and if you remain below this, little harm is done.
The foods mentioned on the ‘food high thiol’ list below, are ones that are metabolized in a specific sulfur pathway that causes the problems for mercury toxic people by increasing free thiol levels. These foods contain the free thiol groups that interact with and mobilize mercury inducing symptoms such as tiredness, emotional distress and other non-specific ailments.
Andy Cutler also says:
“If you have elevated cysteine and you want to convert some to glutathione,
take a 2:1 weight ratio of glutamine and glycine (e. g. 2 500 mg caps of glutamine
with 1 500 mg cap of glycine) and your body will do the rest.”
Food list high in thiols
When you are on a low thiol diet, do not eat ANY amount of high thiol foods.
- artichokes, Jerusalem but not French
- asparagus
- bakery products containing whey, cysteine, eggs or enzymes
- bean curd/tofu milk
- bean sprouts
- beans of all sorts
- bok choy
- broccoli
- brussels sprouts
- buckwheat
- buttermilk – cream turns into butter and buttermilk. Buttermilk is where the thiols end up. Butter is thiol free
- cabbage
- carob
- cauliflower
- cheese, of all sorts – aging of cheese does not affect thiol sulfur content
- chives
- chocolate
- coffee
- collard greens
- cream
- daikon
- dairy products
- dandelion greens
- eggs
- garlic
- green beans
- greens
- horseradish
- jicama
- kale
- leeks
- lentils, of all sorts
- milk, from any animal
- miso soup
- mustard
- onions
- papaya (slightly)
- peas, of all sorts
- peanuts
- pineapple (slightly)
- radishes
- rutabaga
- sauerkraut
- sesame seeds, ground, as when in tahini (when in hull ok for most, except the very sensitive)
- shallots
- sour cream
- soy cheese
- soy milk
- spinach
- split peas
- sunchoke
- tahini (from ground sesame seeds)
- tamarind
- tempeh
- tofu
- turnip
- turmeric (though not high in thiols, it is really good at raising thiol levels)
- quinoa
- whey
- yeast extract
Also,
Watch out for foods that have garlic and onion powders added e.g. processed meats like hot dogs.
Meat is also high in sulfur, but most people tolerate it well due to low thiol level and it depends upon how sensitive you are.
If you need to limit meat, then you would also need to supplement amino acids, especially glutamine.
This also helps to heal the gut lining.
Supplements high in sulfur/thiol groups
- ALA (Alpha Lipoic Acid or Thioctic Acid).
Obviously this needs to be used for chelation purposes at some point, whether you are sulfur intolerant or not, but it MUST always be used properly, and according to its half-life, as described in Andy Cutler’s oral chelation protocol. If you are sulfur-sensitive, you may only tolerate small amounts of ALA, so start low just in case. This is not always true, but worth remembering. Also, do not take ALA during your sulfur exclusion trial.
- bromelain and papain (use enzymes derived from animals)
- chlorella,
- cysteine
- dairy source acidophilus,
- DMSO,
- extracts of the high sulphur foods,
- glutathione,
- NAC,
- MSM,
- Methionine (converts down into cysteine)
- Turmeric is really good at raising thiol levels.

Glutathione (600mg) and Ca-EDTA (1,600mg), one month supply, comes with a FREE 'StopReabsorb' bowel cleanse.
Beats Detoxamin(R) and other similar EDTA products.
Over 3X more toxins are excreted.
The free StopReabsorb bowelcleanse cuts down on the reabsorbtion of toxins from the colon.
ToxDetox™ is a nutritional industry first - with never before available, professional strength reduced Glutathione (600mg) and CaNa2EDTA (1,600mg) in a cocoa butter based rectal suppository. As ToxDetox™ was researched and developed, a human study concurrently confirmed the powerful benefits of combined Glutathione and EDTA application for toxic removal:
3.8 times more toxins were excreted in the urine compared to EDTA only or Glutathione only applications [1].
ToxDetox beats Detoxamin(R) and other similar EDTA products.
ToxDetox™ raises the bar among detoxification products for efficiency, safety, and a broader spectrum of toxins removed, along with Glutathione’s immune boosting properties.
ToxDetox™ successfully targets the main health impacts of environmental and endogenous toxins:
mitochondrial toxicity, immunotoxicity, endocrine and neurotoxicity.
Suppositories provide very similar results to IV methods of administration since the ingredients in the suppository are absorbed by the wall of the rectum and carried straight into the systemic circulation (circumventing the entero-hepatic portal system where ingredients are broken down). Rectal absorption could be also compared to transdermal (through the skin) absorption due to the anatomy of the rectum.
De-calcification (EDTA) and immune boosting (glutathione) should be always a part of the best detoxification protocols.
CaNa2EDTA has been safely and widely used, since the 1950s, to bind and remove toxic heavy metal contamination in the body.
Lead, mercury, cadmium, manganese, iron, aluminum, arsenic, uranium, and other metals replace calcium, kept in the ring-shaped CaNa2EDTA, as it is being excreted.
Dosage
The recommended therapy is a minimum of three boxes of ToxDetox™.
Take and extra box for every ten years over the age of 40 (4 boxes over 50, 5 boxes over 60, etc.)
The total number of suppositories required depends on your toxicity level and exposure to toxic metals.
It is recommended to take a ToxDetox™ suppository every forth nights over the first two weeks for a slower start and every second days afterwards at bedtime, after a bowel movement, or as recommended by your health care professional.
Take your StopReabsorb bowel cleanse oral capsules 2 hours before you go to bed in the evenings, whenever you take a ToxDetox suppository.
There are benefits in going through with the whole detox program again a year later.
By this time the toxins from the deeper storage locations (e.g. from the bones) have time to come to more superficial places for effective detoxification.
Use one suppository weekly for maintenance.
How to Use ToxDetox™
- consider taking StopReabsorb™ bowel cleanse capsules 2 hours
before taking the suppository to stop the reabsorption of toxins from the colon
- take your daily vitamins as usual
- take your minerals at least 5 hours BEFORE taking the suppository (to avoid mineral-toxin competition)
- it is recommended to eat your dinner and drink a glass of water 2 to 3 hours before your bedtime
- empty your bowels before inserting the suppository
- remove the plastic wrapping from one suppository
- moisten the suppository or put a bit of coconut oil to the tip of the suppository for easier insertion
- insert it gently into the rectum past the sphincter muscles with your finger (use a “sandwich bag” for cleaner insertion)
- try not to empty your bowels overnight (or for a few hours)
- keep yourself hydrated while detoxifying
- preferably eat organic, non-GMO, and 50% raw food
- try to reduce/avoid EMF (Electro Magnetic Field) radiation to increase the rate of metal excretion from your body(!)
- do daily high intensity, intermittent bouts of exercises to improve blood and lymph circulation (and spike your HGH levels). Ideally, these high-intensity interval trainings consist a total of 10 minutes of very intense exertion (swimming, sprinting, jumping) with short recovery periods in between. Combine this with 'SuperSlow weight lifting'
- reduce your calorie intake or fast a day or two per week to open up your fat cells to release more (fat soluble) toxins
Our current diet and lifestyle conditions do not support high enough levels of glutathione and thus it must be supplemented.
Glutathione is the most important, natural, master detoxifier and the body's main antioxidant, protecting our cells and making our energy metabolism run well. Normally glutathione is recycled in the body -- except when the toxic load becomes too great.
Glutathione levels are significantly lower in chronic disease patients, suggesting either that glutathione deficiency contributes to the disease, or, more likely, that chronic diseases use high levels of protective glutathione. In either case, supplementation with glutathione could be expected to alleviate much of the cellular toxicity that contributes to diseases, which is why animal and human studies suggest an important role for glutathione supplementation in chronic disease conditions.
CAUTION:
ToxDetox™ should not be used during breastfeeding or pregnancy, as the toxins would then be passed on to the baby.
However, it is strongly recommended to detoxify months before conception for healthier, less toxic babies. Keep out of reach of children. Store at either room temperature or refrigerate. Never freeze.

EDTA has both strong 'antibiotic' effects on its own and through its profound bacterial biofilm disrupting effects. These dual actions can turn MultiDrug-Resistant (MDR) microorganisms into resistant ones (!), underlining the lifesaving role EDTA can play. In a study, EDTA treatment of Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilms resulted in 1,000 fold greater killing than treatment with the antibiotic gentamicin

Vitamin C
- vitamin c is an essential nutrient and potent antioxidant.
Many studies have demonstrated that vitamin c can be beneficial in the treatment and prevention of the common cold, respiratory ailments and urinary tract infections.
Citrus Bioflavonoids
(from natural citrus fruits) provide a rich source of antioxidants which research has shown to benefit the cardiovascular system, osteoarthritis and in the prevention of several other chronic diseases. in addition, research suggests that bioflavonoids may help increase intracellular levels of vitamin c, while protecting the vitamin c from oxidation.
Sea Buckthorn berries
are a fruit of significant nutritional value and are renowned from centuries of medicinal usage for skin, heart and liver health in both Europe and Asia. Sea Buckthorn is very rich in natural vitamin c, vitamin E, carotenoids, proteins and phytosterols, as well as being a potent source of antioxidants and essential fatty acids.
Rutin is a citrus bioflavonoid with studies suggesting benefits for the cardiovascular and circulatory systems.
Zinc is an important nutrient that helps to maintain a healthy immune function.
Combination Rationale:
Synergy C™ combines the benefits of 1,000 mg of buffered mineral vitamin c with the enhanced bioavailability action of antioxidants and flavonoids. the pH neutral buffered mineral sources of vitamin c from calcium, magnesium, potassium and sodium ascorbates are combinations of ascorbic acid bonded with minerals to provide maximum absorption of vitamin c, while avoiding indigestion and protecting kidney health, which can be compromised when taking large doses of ascorbic acid alone.
Citrus bioflavonoids and rutin are powerful antioxidants which provide protection against the oxidative damage of free radicals. Some studies even suggest that bioflavonoids can help protect the antioxidant action of vitamin c. Bioflavonoids help increase intracellular levels of vitamin c and can also prolong the effectiveness of the vitamin c.
Sea Buckthorn berries contain naturally high levels of vitamin c. the health benefits of Sea Buckthorn berries can be found in the seed and pulp oil. CanPrev's Synergy C™ contains a complete whole pulp extract.
Zinc citrate has been added to complete this natural buffering activity, while supporting a strong immune function.

Lack of oxygen supply accompanies life-threatening diseases such as stroke, myocardial infarction or renal failure.
Tissues and cells are temporarily not provided with O2 (ischemia) and have to develop survival-strategies.
Cells are exposed to a second threat upon re-oxygenation (reperfusion).
Though being pivotal for survival, the sudden reperfusion of tissue induces oxidative stress and inflammatory responses.
The lack of oxygen supply is associated with a number of life-threatening diseases such as stroke, myocardial infarction or renal failure whereby cells are temporarily deprived of O2 and nutrient (ischemia). Significant cell damage can also occur during the reperfusion phase through oxidative stress and inflammatory responses. ....
COMMENT.
Oxygen Concentrators, by the nature of their temporary and periodic use, rather than a continual longer-term application, and, by their concentration of Oxygen in the proximal breathing air, rather than a provision of pure oxygen in a direct intubation through the nose ... minimizes the likelihood of the oxidative stress concerns mentioned above.
This benefit is only safe and relevant when the patient or caregiver is consciously aware of the symptoms indicating its requirement, and, the patient can begin to receive the benefits almost immediately. It will also be relevant only when oxygen supplementation can provide adequate health support for the patient by way of a temporary application. This suggests that the oxygen requirements of the patient cycle through periods of oxygen inefficiency and/or increases in requirement and that an acute or chronic oxygen debt is not present.
Many influences can initiate a cycle (temporary) of oxygen inefficiency; some of these include:
- a baseline degration of O2 assimilation through heavy metal toxicity,
- a baseline degration of O2 assimilation through chemical toxicity,
- a baseline elevation of O2 requirement through liver, thyroid, lung dysfunction,
- a baseline elevation of O2 assimilation through intestinal fungal. viral, bacterial overgrowth,
- a present experience of trauma,
- a memory of trauma.

COMMENTS:
- I love it! I use it before I go to bed and I sleep so much better!
I used to wake up with a sore throat from snoring and I don't anymore.
It is noisier than I would like and it releases water at the end, which is a good thing, but you have to take it off so it doesn't release water in your nose but I still love it! I wish I could add scents to it so that I could inhale invigorating smells.
- My husband suffers from a chronic, degenerative condition & is in pain 24/7.
This is the 1st thing,(other than massage), that gives him a bit of relief. He describes it as a "lift". And it's totally non-toxic!
- The first day it arrived I wash`t sure I really felt that much difference.
That night I had arthritis pain and a sleepless night.
The next morning when I used the Oxygen Bar breathing in deeply, I felt the effects, my joints tingled pleasantly and I had some relief after every use several times during that day. By the evening I was completely with out pain. ...

How Novasonic Works
In 1928, Erwin Schliephake, a German scientist, discovered that sound waves accelerated healing.
When sound waves are applied to the body, the cells and tissue absorb some of the energy, thus increasing circulation to enhance healing.
A Novasonic Transducer is a compact and high-precision electrical device which transmits sound waves to the treatment area through a ‘sound-head,’ applied without pressure to the skin surface. The sound waves can penetrate up to 2 1/4? within the body, treating areas inaccessible to conventional manipulative techniques. The intensity of the waves and associated vibration can be adjusted easily, just like the volume on a radio.
The Novasonic massager utilizes a sound transducer that vibrates at selected frequencies within the audible range (between 16-20,000 Hertz). Sound waves are transmitted to the treatment area through a specially designed “sound head”, applied without pressure to the skin surface.
The sound waves can penetrate up to 2 Ľ” within the body, treating areas inaccessible to other techniques.
Furthermore, the intensity of the waves and accompanying vibration can be adjusted easily.
The unit may look like an ultrasound unit, but Novasonic uses audible sounds, a different technology.
This provides intensive stimulation of the natural functions of the cellular, circulatory and nervous systems.
The Novasonic has two speeds (high and low), and an intensity control knob.
There are two sound heads; flat for large areas, and round for points.
The Novasonic can be used to stimulate cartilage, joints, muscles, and tissue.
The direct consequence of each molecular impact is to create altering compression and dilation zones in effect, a form of massage, but at a cellular level, deep within the treated tissue. This stimulation results in an immediate and demonstrable tightening of the cell-wall membranes, leading to increased blood circulation and improved metabolism. It is by this intensive stimulation of the natural functions of the cellular, circulatory and nervous systems of the body that the beneficial effects of the therapy are achieved. Novasonic simply gives nature a helping hand. Users report significant relief, particularly in the joints.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
How does the Novasonic unit actually function?
Novasonic has a small head in the end of the unit that turns ordinary, household 60 Hz electricity into a range of audible sound waves that can easily penetrate the body up to 2.5 inches deep.
-
Does the Novasonic generate heat in the tissues?
No heat is generated. Any warming sensation is due to increased circulation.
-
Just what is it about the Novasonic that does cause some relief?
The sound waves or vibrations are in the hearing range and they stimulate local circulation and relax muscles and tissues just like any type of massage would, except much more gently.
-
What are the basics of the Novasonic Unit?
The Novasonic handle weighs less than one pound. It uses less than 25 watts of electricity.
The unit is very portable for trips since it is less than two pounds with the carrying case.
-
Are there any special instructions for best and safe use of the Novasonic?
Always unplug the transformer when not in use (extends the life of the transformer).
It is recommended that the unit not be used on the lower back or the abdominal region of any pregnant woman.
It is recommended that it not be used on the chest area of a person using a pacemaker.
These are all reasonable and prudent precautions.
If you have blood clot problems of the lower leg do not use the unit on your calf since any form of massage there could loosen the clots leading to extremely serious outcomes. As always, if you have any medical condition you are strongly urged to consult with your physician. Keep in mind that this is NOT a medical device and we make no medical claims regarding use.
-
Do I have to push the unit really hard against my body to get good results?
No, in fact use only a light touch. About 1 or 2 ounces of pressure is best.
If you push hard, you will dampen the power of the unit and stop its effectiveness.
-
How well built is the Novasonic unit?
It is an extremely fine, quality unit made in Europe by skilled technicians.
The unit is a good appliance and like any quality unit should be treated as such.
It is advised that turning the power knob should be done gently.
It is also advised that if you use the unit with creams or oils that a plastic baggy be placed over the head of the unit to protect it from the creams and oils since they will rapidly degrade the rubber membrane found just under the power head. This use of oils and cremes is not covered under the warranty and will lead to repair fees.
If you choose to change the head — screw off the head and screw on the other head, but MBR>
please do NOT over-tighten the head as this can possibly damage the unit.
The Novasonic should yield great comfort for years if carefully used and kept clean.
This chrome model includes a bi-modal switch with percussion therapy.
2 year manufacturer warranty. Ships via Standard Delivery.
