The prostate is a walnut-shaped gland that wraps around the urethra, the tube that urine flows out of.
The prostate is part of the male reproductive system. One of its main jobs, along with other organs, is to add fluid to semen.
This is the fluid that carries sperm.
The prostate gland starts out small and has two main phases of growth.
It doubles in size during the teenage years, then continues to grow again after age 25 throughout the rest of a man's life.
An excessively enlarged prostate results in a disease known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Eventually, an enlarged prostate can clamp down on the urethra and restrict the flow of urine from the bladder.
The prostate is just in front of the rectum.
The urethra runs through the center of the prostate, from the bladder to the penis, letting urine flow out of the body.
The prostate secretes fluid that nourishes and protects sperm. During ejaculation, the prostate squeezes this fluid into the urethra, and it’s expelled with sperm as semen. The vasa deferentia (singular: vas deferens) bring sperm from the testes to the seminal vesicles. The seminal vesicles contribute fluid to semen during ejaculation.
Your prostate gland is located underneath your bladder and urethra.
When you pee, your bladder pushes its contents into the prostate and then into the urethra, the tube through which urine exits your body.
The opening within the prostate acts as a continence mechanism, says Dr. Ramin, so you only pee when you want to. Without your prostate, you’d likely be dealing with urine leaking out of the bladder and incontinence issues.
The normal prostate size for an adult male ranges from 15 cubic centimeters, or 0.9 cubic inch, to 30 cubic centimeters, or 1.8 cubic inches, according to the Urological Research Foundation in Hillsboro, Missouri. An increase in size could indicate an enlarged prostate, also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH.
An enlarged prostate is unrelated to prostate cancer and does not cause cancer, Everyday Health notes. It merely causes urinary problems because the enlarged gland squeezes the urethra, resulting in a thickened bladder wall.
A normal prostate size commonly increases after age 40, but the change may occur in men in their thirties.
The chances for an enlarged prostate greatly increase as men age, up to 60 percent for men in their sixties and 80 to 90 percent for men in their 70's and 80's, according to a 2005 report in the Reviews in Urology journal, Everyday Health reports.
The first sign of an enlarged prostate for most men is a need to urinate once or twice in the middle of the night, according to WebMD. The need to urinate may increase and even occur throughout the day. The thickened bladder may contract more often and may not be able to empty completely because of the narrowing urethra, creating frequent feelings of the need to urinate.

Researchers don't know exactly what causes benign prostatic hyperplasia.
One theory suggests that as men age, they begin to produce fewer hormones called testosterone (a male hormone) and small amounts of estrogen (a female hormone). As the male hormone testosterone levels in the blood decrease, it leaves a higher amount of estrogen in the blood. Thus, BPH in men occurs because of the higher proportion of estrogen within the prostate gland increases activity of substances that promote prostate cell growth.
The other theory (best guess) on what causes BPH is that as men age, the male hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT) (which plays a role in the development and growth of the prostate gland), may encourage the cells of the prostate gland to continue to grow.
DFS, page 219
DHEA is one of the androgen hormones secreted by the adrenal glands ...
(Often used as a supplement in the USA, overdosing with 200 mg can lead to men expressing) hostility, aggression, and be unpleasant to be around. ... it can be converted into dihydro-testosterone, which has been linked to prostate cancer. ... other studies that show that men with higher DHEA levels are actually protected against prostate cancer ....
DFS, pages 263 to 274
[
The constant energy demand (Stress) Lifestyle]
(After millions of years as an in-balance primate, human population suddenly began to increase and result in density conflicts, and, agriculture, industry, commerce, and socially sanctioned expressions of surplus testosterone ... conflict {competition, colonization/theft, war, sports, abuses} ... became imprinted as Normal. Prior to this modern era, males did not likely experience prostate enlargement. Excess production of testosterone, endemic hormonal disruption of short annual mating periods, and, a shorter lifespan limited this pathological organ development.)
To a large extent you control (your hypothalamus responding to) the demands you place on your body ... diet, exercise, social acceptance (work-responsibility-debt-dependency), climate (that is not optimal). The Hypothalamus - Pituitary - Adrenal (HPA) Axis (negative feedback system) quickly loses its flexibility of Response to become imprinted from CONSTANT activation into a "Normal" Reaction (automatic) provision of hormones, including testosterone, at EXCESS levels compared to those likely in pre-history times. (Larger meals, less frequent dining, longer periods of constant energy demand, and a great many instances of stimulated testosterone release with suppressed physical activity resolution ... violence ... result in excessive levels of testosterone, cortisol, and other hormones.) This excess, or HIGH level of testosterone, and possibly other hormones stimulates the prostate (by) forced growth into enlargement.
DFS, page 280
(
A Perspective on Aging & Hormone Balance)
The adrenal sex hormones and DHEA both limit cortisol's possible detrimental effects on cells (irrelevant stimulation of muscle tension, interrupted digestion, tachycardia, fatigue, depression of immune system, over-stimulation of cells, atrophied thymus gland, hemorrhaged adrenal glands, low potassium level, electrolyte imbalance, hypoglycemia, dehydration) and at the same time facilitate its actions by functioning as hormone anti-oxidants. ... The more the adrenals are stimulated by stress and internal demans, the less responsive the zona reticularis becomes. Consequently, the adrenal output of sex hormones and their precursors decreases with chronic stress .... This (diminished availability of DHEA-S and DHEA) diminishes your ability to respond adequately to the demands placed on your body ....
LTD, page 250
... Research by Concato et al (2006) suggested that widespread screening with PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen), or, (Prostate Serum Androgen) tests is NOT effective in reducing mortality.
(Many other reports criticize the PSA test as being only 50% accurate.
That means that if you test positive, there is a likelihood that you are NOT positive by 50% and do not require the usual follow-up biopsy and surgery. The opposite is also applicable. The PSA could indicate that you test negative, yet do have significant prostate problems that could become fatal.)
LTD, page 279
Acid Phosphatase, or, Prostatic Acid Phosphatase (PAP) test.
This enzyme is found in high concentrations in the prostate gland, erythrocytes, and platelets.
Because this enzyme is excreted in the seminal fluid, a test for Acid Phosphatase is sometimes performed on vaginal secretions as supportive evidence for alleged rape. (It could also be performed on fluids in a condom following intercourse and orgasm.) It .. is a tumor marker for prostatic cancer ....
TMH, page 35
The prostate can be interpreted as a male uterus which does not overtly display a monthly cycle ...
As an endocrine-dependent organ, it ... is also thought by some physiologists to be the counterpart of the breasts of the female. ...
The testes produce ... testosterone as well as ... estrogen.
Some of the estrogen secreted in the male may come from the adrenal gland, but at least 80% comes from the testes.
And likewise, the female ovaries secrete testosterone. Both the mature ovary and the testes are about the same size.
In males, the adrenals provide a secondary source of testosterone and are the exclusive source of the "female" hormone estrogen. Longer-term adrenal stress and weakness could provide a hormone imbalance which might contribute to an enlarged prostate. As inadequate levels of sleep tend to increase estrogen presence, diminish immune strength, and delay healing ... it also can likely contribute to prostate enlargement. If these and other variables are not followed and noted in experiments and tests, the reported results may be more a fact of projection, misinterpretation, and coincidence than scientific fact.
TMH, page 104
Prominent medical theory (best guess) suggests that BHP is caused by an accumulation of testosterone in the prostate.
(It could equally be presumed that an excessive level of testosterone presence accelerates specific forms of cellular growth.) Within the prostate this testosterone is converted to a compound called dihydrotestosterone (which) in turn causes cells to multiply excessively and eventually causes the prostate to enlarge.
Testosterone is a hormone that helps keep "healthy" (lust-driven competition, frustration and conflict) aggression intact.
When a male retires, from his professional (and/or constant long-hours, demands and obligations efforts) he often loses an arena for his "normal" (socially & politically sanctioned) constructive, active aggression so he needs to keep his lifestyle active (imposing) to keep from being too retired (and assertive or passive in interaction). This (aggressive activity) may help him avoid accumulating excessive testosterone in the prostate gland (or circulating in the system and over-stimulating some forms of prostate tissue). ...
Two contributing factors to BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia -- Enlarged Prostate) may be insufficient consumption of grains, beans, and other isoflavone containing foods ... and excessive consumption of animal fat and protein. But that is only a theory.

To diagnose EP (enlarged prostate) a man should undergo a basic evaluation to make sure there is no other cause for the man's urinary symptoms (such as infection, prostate or bladder cancer).
There are some basic questions to assess how bothersome the urinary symptoms are --- also called an AUA symptom score. Take the AUA symptom score to see if you may have enough symptoms to be of concern -- add up all the points --- a total score over 8 usually should prompt and exam for EP.
A brief physical exam is also done, that includes a DRE (digital rectal exam) that estimates the size of the prostate and whether there is a hard mass or lump on the gland. A serum PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) blood test (is often medically recommended) be done to assess the risk of cancer of the prostate. A urinalysis is usually done to look for infection.
There appears to be 3 stages of prostatic enlargement.
The first stage is characterized by the stream of urine growing thinner and the urge to urinate increasing.
Some men will notice that it takes more time for the sphincter muscle to relax and urine to pass.
Many men remain at this stage for the rest of their lives, and this stage is very responsive to herbal treatment.
In the second stage, the retention of urine increases, and the bladder never fully empties. ... residual urine
In the third stage, the residual urine increases, stagnates, distends the bladder creating back pressure and eventually causes kidney damage and uremia.
The PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) Test.
Unlike the other tumor markers, PSA, introduced in 1987, is relatively specific for both benign and malignant prostate epithelium. ... Controversy exists over whether early diagnosis is useful because early treatment may have no added benefit for some very slow growing tumors, and evidence is lacking on what is the best treatment for early-stage disease. Another concern is the rate of false-positive results (up to 50%) that lead to unnecessary follow-up tests with associated anxiety and cost. ...
Research by Concato et al. (2006) suggested that widespread screening with PSA is not effective in reducing mortality. However, many physicians (ignore the science and) support the use of the PSA in men above the age of 50.
It's important to realize that PSA levels increase with age.
A level that's normal for a man of 80, for instance, may suggest prostate cancer in a man of 45.
It has been estimated that 40% of all men over age 50 have (prostate cancer).
But only about 8% of men ever get symptoms, and only 3% die of the disease.
In other words, 4 out of 5 men with prostate cancer never get symptoms and 9 out of 10 will die of something else. ...
(A) big problem with PSA testing is that it is not clear that the standard treatments for prostate cancer -- radical prostate surgery and X-ray therapy -- save lives. Many doctors and patients assume that they do. But it's still unclear how effective these are, and no studies have compared one treatment to the other. ...
About 90% of men who are diagnosed with prostate cancer before it has spread beyond the prostate gland -- and who are then treated surgically -- can expect to live at least another 15 years.

What's a Normal Prostate Size? How to Tell If Yours Is Enlarged.
by Jerry Shaw
2016-04-14
Experts aren’t really sure what exactly causes an enlarged prostate, but because it occurs mainly in older men, they believe it may be due to hormone changes. For instance, as guys age, they tend to produce less testosterone, giving them a higher percentage of estrogen. It’s possible this can trigger prostate growth.
(Symptoms)
... when the bladder is unable to empty completely, ... Men face
- increased risk of urinary tract infections,
- blood in the urine,
- incontinence,
- bladder stones,
- kidney failure.
says WebMD.
Other symptoms of an enlarged prostate include
- difficulty in starting to urinate,
- a weak or slow flow of urine,
- streams that start and stop,
- frequent dribbling of urine, and
- the need to urinate again shortly after urinating.
In 2017, the American Urological Association (AUA) created a seven-question symptom index for severity benign prostatic hyperplasia. How you answer them—options include “not at all,” “less than 1 time in 5,” “less than half the time,” “about half the time,” “more than half the time,” and “almost always” -- can help your doctor evaluate you.
... the symptoms include the following:
- The sensation of not emptying your bladder when you’re finished peeing
- The need to pee again less than two hours after you finished urinating
- Stopping and starting again several times when you urinated
- The difficulty to postpone urination
- Having a weak stream of urine
- The need to push or strain to start to pee
- Waking up often at night to pee
Untreated enlarged prostate can lead to issues like incontinence, blood in your urine -- due to inflammation from straining to pee -- and eventually, you’re at risk for kidney damage, says Dr. Ramin.

Saw palmetto
Saw palmetto is an herbal remedy that comes from the fruit of a type of palm tree.
It's been used in alternative medicine for centuries to relieve urinary symptoms, including those caused by an enlarged prostate. According to a few small-scale studies have suggested that saw palmetto might be effective for relieving BPH symptoms.
However, the NIH reports that when tests were conducted, they didn't find saw palmetto any more effective than a placebo.
Research continues to look into the anti-inflammatory and hormone-blocking properties that saw palmetto may have and its possible use in combination with other medications. Saw palmetto is safe to use, but minor side effects can be upset stomach and headache.
-
Beta-sitosterol
This herbal medication is a mixture taken from different plants that contain cholesterol-like substances called sitosterols or phytosterols (plant-based fats). have suggested that beta-sitosterol can relieve urinary symptoms of BPH, including the strength of urine flow. Some scientists have also suggested that it's these fatty substances -- like beta-sitosterol, which is also found in saw palmetto -- that are actually doing the work.
There haven't been any major side effects reported with the use of beta-sitosterol. However, doctors still don't know all the long-term effects of this natural therapy.
-
Pygeum
Pygeum comes from the bark of the African plum tree and has been used in traditional medicine to treat urinary problems since ancient times. It's often used to treat BPH symptoms, especially in Europe. Because studies on it haven't been well-designed, it's hard to know for sure whether it's effective.
According to the Canadian Journal of Urology, some small studies have suggested the supplement can help with bladder emptying and urine flow. However, the studies reviewed were inconsistent. Pygeum does appear safe to use, but it can cause upset stomach and headache in some people who take it. There are no studies on long-term safety.
-
Rye grass pollen extract
Rye grass pollen extract is made from three types of grass pollen: rye, timothy, and corn.
A review of herbal studies published in found that in one study, men who were taking rye grass pollen extract reported an improvement in their nighttime symptoms of getting up to urinate, compared to those who were taking a placebo. However, this study lasted only six months. It didn't look at how well the supplement worked compared to prescription medications.
-
Stinging nettle
You'll know if you've accidentally touched the common European stinging nettle:
The hairs on its leaves can cause a sharp jolt of intense pain. But stinging nettle may have some benefits when used as a medicine.
Nettle root is thought to improve some BPH symptoms, and is commonly used in Europe. ...
Sometimes nettle is used in combination with other natural BPH treatments, such as pygeum or saw palmetto. Side effects from nettle are usually mild, including upset stomach and skin rash.
Foods to treat BPH
The role of diet in the prevention of BPH and in treating its symptoms continues to be explored.
A recent study in China looked at the effects of diet on BPH symptoms.
Researchers found that men with diets high in fruits and vegetables -- especially leafy, dark vegetables and tomatoes -- had less BPH, less symptoms of BPH, and were less likely to have worsening of their BPH. Researchers believe it's not just one nutrient, but rather the combinations found in a healthful diet and lifestyle, that are beneficial.

Antihistamines and decongestants can worsen symptoms.

Men with prostate trouble should avoid some cold medicines.
by Daniel Gaitan --- Health News --- February 9, 2015
Antihistamines are drugs that are used to counteract the effects of histamines and treat allergies.
While the use of antihistamines has helped many people with allergies, these drugs also have many side effects.
One of these side effects can cause complications with your prostate, especially in those who already have prostate problems.
“It’s very important that men with enlarged prostate avoid cold medicines with pseudoephedrine or phenylephrine.
Those are ingredients in decongestants and they constrict the prostatic capsule” and lead to urine retention, said Dr. Gregory T. Bales, a urologist at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
“Antihistamines aren’t quite as bad, because they work more on the bladder muscle, but they can cause bladder contractility.”
“If a man is already having a little difficulty and his stream is already slow, and then you (make it worse) it by adding one of these medicines, it’s the recipe for causing retention. All it takes is one dose,” Bales told Reuters Health. “If you haven’t urinated in six hours or so, you have to go to the hospital and get a catheter put in to drain that liquid. Then we wait a couple days to let the medicine get out of his system and then do a urine test. It’s painful.”
Cold remedies that are inhaled, such as a nasal corticosteroid, will not have the same side effects as an oral agent, Bales added. Mentholated ointments are a safer alternative to decongestants.
Diuretics, or medications that increase urination, can also worsen symptoms.
While they are not medications, alcohol and caffeine can also worsen the symptoms associated with prostate enlargement.

This prescription drug often takes up to 4 MONTHS to begin demonstrating benefits.
dutasteride (Avodart) or finasteride (Proscar),
... block the hormones that cause the prostate to grow.
SYMPTOMS:
Very common (10% or more): Impotence (up to 18.5%)
Common (1% to 10%): Abnormal ejaculation, decreased ejaculatory volume, abnormal sexual function, gynecomastia, erectile dysfunction, ejaculation disorder, testicular pain, male infertility and/or poor seminal quality[Ref]
214 reports of gynecomastia in men taking finasteride in the United States were received by the FDA between June 1992 and February 1995. Among those reported, 58% were taking additional medications that have been associated with gynecomastia (breast enlargement). Sixty nine of 86 patients who discontinued finasteride treatment had partial or complete remission.
New reports of drug-related sexual adverse experiences have been reported to decrease with duration of therapy.
Erectile dysfunction has been reported to continue beyond treatment discontinuation.
Normalization or improvement of seminal quality has been reported after withdrawing finasteride treatment.

Proscar may also increase hair growth.
This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur!
Proscar (finasteride) is an inhibitor of steroid Type II 5a-reductase (5ARI), that works by decreasing the amount of a natural body hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT) that causes growth of the prostate, and is used to treat symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate.
5ARI's block the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), the major male sex hormone found within cells of the prostate. By doing so, it may help to actually shrink the size of the prostate and, in some people, decrease BPH symptoms and increase urinary flow rates. These drugs may take 6 months to a year before benefits appear.
These medications may be best suited for men with relatively large prostates (those greater than 30 cubic centimeters in size, with normal prostate size being 25 cubic centimeters).
Side effects include
- weakness,
- dizziness,
- drowsiness,
- erectile dysfunction
- breast enlargement (in about 5% of men.)
These side effects resolve with cessation of the drug.
These medications lower the PSA blood test levels by ~50% --- important to remember when screening for prostate cancer.
These are (considered) lifelong medications.
Originally used to treat high blood pressure, these medications relax smooth muscle around blood vessels and within the prostate and bladder, helping relieve some of the obstruction from the EP.. They tend to work immediately.
Side effects include
- orthostatic hypotension (fall in blood pressure upon standing, causing dizziness),
- fatigue,
- headaches
- a stuffy nose..
These are (considered) lifelong medications {because they don't correct anything!}.
Taking drugs would seem to be like asking "How much more complicated and untreatable do you want your health reality to become?" Perhaps better to consider other options.

12 Exercises Men Can Do To Prevent Prostate Problems.
By Jerry Shaw --- Wednesday, 18 March 2015
In one study published in Harvard Health Publications, Italian researchers found that men who exercised five or more hours a week were 30 to 50 percent less likely to develop BPH than men who performed exercise less than two hours a week. Researchers believe that the high levels of physical activity might reduce testosterone to control prostate growth. It may also reduce stress to ease severity of urinary problems.
A study by the Harvard School of Public Health and the University of California, San Francisco followed 2,705 men with prostate cancer over 18 years. According to Prostate.net, the men who participated in at least three hours of intensive exercise a week were 61 percent less likely to die from prostate cancer than those who participated in an hour or less of easy exercise a week.
Fortunately, men have a variety of exercises to choose from to prevent prostate problems.
Aerobic exercises for prostate health include:
- Walking
- Jogging
- Biking
- Tennis
- Rowing
- Jumping rope
- Dancing
- Hiking
- Yard work, such as raking leaves or gardening.
Resistance exercises that protect prostate health
help your muscles work in opposition to a pulling or pushing force.
They include:
- Swimming
- Push-ups
- Weightlifting
Although biking provides plenty of heart health and vigorous activity to protect the prostate, long periods of sitting and bouncing on an uncomfortable seat can put pressure on the groin and prostate areas.
Choose a wide seat, gel-filled bicycle seat, or seat designed with cutouts or holes to relieve pressure in that area. Avoid tilting the seat height forward, which can increase pressure on the perineum between the genital and anal areas. Wearing padded bike shorts also helps to avoid pressure.
Exercise at least 30 minutes on most days of the week to reap the full benefits of physical activity.
If you haven't exercised in a while, check with your doctor about the type of activity that works for you.
Add physical activity slowly over time until you build up a routine that includes the exercise you enjoy.

Prostatitis is inflammation or infection of the prostate gland.
... Common symptoms of an inflammed, infected and/or enlarged prostate gland are similar:
- there is an aching pain in the area of the prostate;
- pain on sitting;
- frequent dribbling;
- urination can be difficult with difficulty starting stream and difficulty emptying bladder;
- sometimes blood will appear in the urine;
- often there are chills and fever.
Kegal Exercises.
A well developed pubococcygeal muscle ... is the muscle (that) runs between the pubic bone in front and the coccyx (tailbone) in the back. To locate this muscle ... you work up a good flow of urine .. and then close it off. The muscle you automatically tighten is the pubococcygeal muscle.

Yoga Asanas for Prostate Health
Andrea Boldt --- Written on: 30 January, 2018
Reducing your risk of prostate cancer should, of course, be high on your list of preventative health priorities, but other aspects of prostate health are also important. Prostatitis affects about 50 percent of males, most under age 50; benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) afflicts half of men older than 60 and 90 percent of men older than 85. These prostate conditions cause pain and discomfort, frequent urination as well as urinary challenges. ...
Yoga can be part of a strategy to support prostate health.
A comprehensive, regular practice (can be) most effective, but certain asanas are particularly beneficial.
Mula Bandha
The "locks" of the body aren't asanas, per se — they're binds or muscle contractions that make poses more effective and enhance your control of energy. Mula bandha is your root lock, in which you engage the muscles of your pelvic floor. Using the lock strategically in your practice gives you control over these often overlooked muscles, so you aren't chronically tensing them or allowing them to get too slack and lazy. This gives you a positive relationship to the region in which your prostate sits.
Use mula bandha poses such as Downward-Facing Dog, Hero pose or Bridge pose, for example.
Men benefit from the breathing work in yoga.
Prostate-Specific Poses
The prostate is located just in front of the rectum and under the bladder.
It's in the region of the second chakra, so poses that stimulate that energy zone also help to heal and soothe the walnut-sized gland.
Reclining Hand-to-Big Toe Pose
Reclining-Hand-to-Big Toe pose is generally thought of as a hamstring stretch, but it compresses the pelvic floor and stimulates the region in which the prostate exists.
To do the pose, lie on your back with your right leg extended.
Loop a strap around your left foot, or hold onto the big toe with your left fingers, and extend the leg up to the ceiling.
Gently draw the leg closer to your torso. Hold for several breaths, release and repeat on the other side.
Bound Angle
Bound angle opens your groin and hips. Engage mula bandha in this pose to further engage the prostate.
To do the pose, sit on your sitz bones and draw the soles of your feet together.
Allow your knees to fall out to the sides of the room like butterfly wings.
Inhale, sit up tall; as you exhale, fold forward from the tops of your hips to aim your chest to the inside of your feet.
Hold the fold for five or more breaths.
Boat Pose
Boat pose is a challenging, stimulating pose for your lower abdominal region. Build up the full variation over time.
To do Boat pose, sit on your sits bones with your knees bent and feet planted.
Lean back slightly and engage your abdominal muscles.
Lift your feet off the floor to balance on the backs of your sits bones.
Keep your back long and your chest lifted.
More intense versions of the pose have you lift the feet higher so the shins are parallel to the floor or the legs straighten to form a 45-degree angle with the floor.
Exercising and strengthening the pelvic floor is one way to improve symptoms from an enlarged prostate ....
Yoga postures, or asanas, and Kegel exercises are low-impact ways to help strengthen the pelvic floor muscles. Performing the following yoga stretches can help you develop muscular control and flexibility in the pelvic region. The calming nature of these exercises may also help relieve stress and pelvic tension. ...
-
Hero (Virasana) pose
- Sit between your feet with your knees down and your toes facing backward.
- You may sit on a pillow for added support.
- Keep your spine lengthened and rest your hands on your thighs, palms facing down.
- Keep the weight in your hips and not your knees.
- You can do your Kegel exercises while doing the pose.
- To release the pose, roll over to one side and release your legs.
-
Cobbler pose (Baddha Konasana)
- Sit down with your legs extended in front of you.
- You may sit on the edge of a cushion for additional support in your hips.
- Bend your knees to the side and place the soles of your feet together.
- Pull your heels closer into your body to deepen the stretch, and move them farther away to lessen the stretch.
- You may interlace your fingers and place them under the pinky toe sides of your feet.
- After some time, walk your hands forward, round your spine, and tuck your chin to drop into a forward fold.
- Breathe deeply and focus on relaxing and letting go of tension.
- Release the pose by walking your hands back up and releasing your legs in front of you.
-
Head-to-knee pose (Janusirsasana)
- Sit on the floor with both legs extended in front of you.
- Bend your right knee and bring the sole of your right foot against your left inner thigh.
- You may place a pillow under your sit bones or under your right knee for support.
- Turn your torso to the left so your naval lines up with the inside of your left leg.
- Place your hands on the floor beside you, or slowly walk them out in front of you.
- Tuck your chin into your chest and hinge from the hips to come closer to the floor.
- It’s okay to round your spine and to bend the extended leg.
- Slowly release on an inhale and walk your hands back as you lift your body.
- Repeat on the opposite side.
-
Reclining big toe pose (Supta Padangusthasana)
- Lie on your back with both legs extended and with a strap nearby.
- Bend the left knee and pull your left thigh into your chest.
- Press the right leg heavy into the floor while drawing your right toes back to your shin
---- and pressing out through the sole of the right foot.
- Put the strap around the arch of the left foot and hold the strap in both hands.
- Straighten the left leg as you press the sole of the foot up toward the ceiling.
- Walk your hands up the strap toward your foot, if possible, and
----- press your shoulders into the floor while broadening across the collarbone.
- If it’s comfortable, you can take hold of the strap with your left hand and allow your leg to fall out to the left side. >BR>
----- Keep the right leg heavy and grounded to the floor.
- To release, bring the leg back up to the top, release the strap, and hug the left leg back into your chest.
- Repeat on the opposite leg.
-
Bow pose (Dhanurasana)
- Lie down on your belly with your arms alongside the body, palms facing up.
- Slowly bend your knees so your feet come up, and reach back with your hands to grasp the outside of your ankles.
- Raise your head, chest, and shoulders off of the mat, if possible.
- Try to keep your knees from splaying out to the side.
- Look forward or up while taking long, deep breaths.
- Hold for up to thirty seconds and release.
- You may do this pose two times.

Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP)
TURP (is the preferred medical) treatment for BPH-, involves removal of the core of the prostate using an instrument passed through the urethra.
High frequency current flowing through a wire loop allows removal of "chips" of prostatic tissue and coagulation of blood vessels. The prostate tissue is removed through the cystoscope used to visually guide and monitor this process. Patients require an anesthetic and need to be hospitalized typically for 2-3 days, and wear a catheter for 3 or more days. Most patients (80% to 90%) experience dramatic improvement in their symptoms and urinary flow rates after TURP.
Possible side effects include
- bleeding requiring transfusion,
- salt imbalances from fluid absorption,
- ED (less than 5%)
- incontinence (1%).
Open Prostactectomy ...
is performed for those patients with very large prostates (greater than 100 grams) in whom transurethral surgery would be difficult to perform safely. In this procedure, an incision is made from the navel to the pubic bone. The bladder is opened; and prostatic tissue is removed through the bladder. A urethral catheter remains for approximately 7 days and patients stay in the hospital 5-7 days. It is a more invasive procedure and complications include bleeding and infection.
A minimally invasive procedure can be done in specialized centers where the enlarged part of the prostate (referred to as the adenoma) is removed laparoscopically or with a surgical robot through keyhole incisions instead of the open surgical incision.
Laser Prostatectomy
... has the effectiveness of a TURP with less side effects and a decreased risk of complications such as
- intraoperative bleeding and fluid absorption,
- retrograde ejaculation,
- impotence,
- incontinence.
Patients undergoing this procedure require an anesthetic at the hospital and usually go home the same day.
The Green Light and Holmium Laser are the two most popular, each slightly different laser systems but about equally effective.
Lasers seem to be as effective as TURP with less complications and the catheter is usually only needed for a day. The retreatment rate for laser procedures may be greater than for TURP or open prostatectomy. Retrograde ejaculation occurs In about 1 in 3 men.
The laser "cooks" the part of the prostate that encircles the urethra.
This tissue disintegrates and is passed in the urine.
Cooled thermotherapy
... (microwave hyperthermia) uses microwave energy with frequencies between 915 and 2450 MHz to heat tissues through radiant heat transfer. Using a transurethral probe, microwave heat delivery is delivered to the prostatic tissue while the surrounding tissue is cooled by a special catheter. This procedure can be performed in the office with local anesthesia. Although it is safer than TURP, it is not as effective with a higher retreatment rate.
Side effects include
- bleeding,
- bladder spasms,
- blood in the ejaculate.
Prostatic Stents
... are permanent, flexible, self-expanding devices placed in the inside of the prostate.
Unfortunately their tendency to encrust and be uncomfortable has not made them a popular choice for most men.
Urolift procedure.
This consists of placing small suture implants to hold the prostate tissue apart from around the urethra;
transurethral microwave thermotherapy (TUMT),
transurethral radiofrequency needle ablation of the prostate (TUNA), and
interstitial laser coagulation (ILC).
The general principle of all these treatments is ... the prostate tissue is heated to a level that will lead to death of portions of the prostate tissue, thus shrinking away and removing some of the obstruction.
Transurethral incision of the prostate (TUIP).
... instead of removing prostate tissue, the doctor passes an instrument through the urethra to make one or two small cuts in the prostate. These cuts reduce the prostate's pressure on the urethra, making urination easier.
Photovaporization of the prostate (PVP) or laser ablation of the prostate.
... a laser is used to directly remove or vaporize prostate tissue in a similar fashion to what is accomplished with a TURP (see above) with much less bleeding. The advantage of this technique compared with TUMT, TUNA, or ILC is that it offers immediate removal of tissue with rapid improvement in symptoms. Conversely, the other three treatments lead to delayed tissue loss and are not associated with immediate improvement of urinary symptoms in most cases.
AquaBeam ablation procedure.
AquaBeam ablation procedure is FDA approved in the U.S. ...
An operation for an enlarged prostate does not eliminate the risk of developing prostate cancer.
Holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP).
(This) is a procedure that is offered in specialized centers and allows larger prostates to be enucleated (shelled out).

When men think of undergoing a vasectomy, they might have a few concerns:
fears of pain,
worries it won't work and
concerns about their sex life afterward. Also ...
it will increase their risk of cancer, namely of the prostate ....
... a study is laying some of that fear to rest. There's new evidence that there is no association between having a vasectomy and developing prostate cancer.
"The overall weight of all of the evidence is that vasectomy is unlikely to
meaningfully increase risk of any type of prostate cancer,"
said Dr. Eric Jacobs, a cancer epidemiologist at the American Cancer Society who led the study.
Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer among men in the United States, second only to melanoma.
Going against the past
Vasectomies are a long-term approach to birth control.
The procedure involves cutting, sealing or blocking the tubes that sperm move along when leaving the testicles, so sperm cannot be released during sex. The prostate gland is in close proximity to these tubes, located behind them and involved in adding fluids to semen (for an ejaculation). A major study conducted on health professionals in 2014 was the first large-scale study to find an association between having a vasectomy and developing prostate cancer. The underlying biology is unknown, but the study showed a 10% increase in the risk of developing this form of cancer, as well as a 20% higher risk of fatal prostate cancer, among men who had a vasectomy compared with those who did not.
But experts agreed that the overall risk found was low and that with the addition of this new study, published Monday in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, concerns around the link can be lowered. The current and previous studies were similar in size in terms of the number of participants with any form of prostate cancer, Jacobs said, but his new research had greater insight into the likelihood of developing fatal forms of the cancer. It included more than 7,000 people who died of prostate cancer, compared with 800 in the 2014 study."
The strength of this study is the size of the cohort" with fatal prostate cancer, said Dr. Charlotte Bevan, professor of cancer biology at Imperial College London, who was not involved in the research. "With this size, you're more likely to see meaningful associations and avoid coincidence." But Bevan noted that the findings of the previous study should not be ignored, as its scale and attention to detail also provide good insight.
"The first study updated information on participants as it went along,
such as weight and whether they smoke,"
she said. These are known risk factors for prostate cancer.
"Some of these things will change over the study."
Bevan agreed that both studies provide evidence for the overall risk being low.
"I think we need to look at the overall weight," said Jacobs.
"And my impression is that there is no increase in meaningful risk."
Removing the risk
Researchers at the American Cancer Society analyzed data from more than 363,000 men -- including 42,000 known to have undergone a vasectomy -- who were participants of the broader ongoing Cancer Prevention Study II, which began in 1982. All the men were older than 40, the typical age range for men contemplating, and having, a vasectomy. About 7,400 participants died of prostate cancer over the 30-year period of the study.
There was no difference in prostate cancer development between those who did and did not have a vasectomy.
"Vasectomy is a quick, inexpensive, long-term method of birth control. ... If there's no increased in risk,
nobody should be discouraged," Jacobs said. "We wanted to help inform that decision."
About 10% of middle-age men in the United States have had a vasectomy, said Jacobs.
The team hopes the findings alleviate any concerns among men contemplating the procedure.
Previous concerns.
The link between having the snip and developing prostate cancer has long been debated.
"There have been some concerns about vasectomy since about 1993," ...
"Men concerned about developing a fatal prostate cancer should focus on maintaining a healthy weight and, if they smoke, quitting smoking,"
Jacobs said, as these are two well-known risk factors for developing more aggressive, fatal forms of prostate cancer.
"Both obesity and smoking have consistently been linked with
higher risk of fatal prostate cancer as well as with risk of many other diseases." ...
Harvard researchers analyzed data from more than 49,400 American men who were followed for 24 years, starting in 1986.
The 25 percent of the men in the study who'd had a vasectomy had a 10 percent increased risk of developing prostate cancer, according to the study published online July 7 in the Journal of Clinical Oncology.
... However, the absolute risk of developing deadly prostate cancer was small, the study authors noted -- 16 of every 1,000 men.
Dr. Louis Kavoussi is chairman of urology at North Shore-LIJ Health System in New Hyde Park, N.Y.
"There are a whole host of potential unknown reasons why this potentially could be real," he added.
"On the other hand, this is a retrospective study -- a backwards-looking study over many, many years, and the increased risk is small. So can this be an error in statistics? There are many papers over the years that don't show a correlation with this."
Dr. Aaron Katz, chairman of urology at Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola, N.Y., suggested that men who've undergone a vasectomy may simply have their cancers caught more often because they see their doctor more often. ....
Vasectomies are a very effective method of birth control, but they’ve also sparked controversy about long-term risks, especially in regard to prostate cancer. But now, a new study in the Journal of Clinical Oncology adds more support in favor of the procedure’s safety.
After studying over 84,000 men for 15 years, researchers discovered there was no elevated risk for overall, advanced-stage prostate cancer, or death due to prostate cancer after undergoing a vasectomy. ...
In fact, “there is no established biologic rationale for an association of vasectomy with prostate cancer,”
the authors wrote in the study. With a vasectomy, the vans deferens is cut, blocked, or sealed to prevent the release of sperm. Previously, researchers investigated whether that could cause an immunological response or changes in cell division that could lead to cancer, but those biological mechanisms in humans have remained unclear and unsubstantiated.
Eric J. Jacobs et al,
“Vasectomy and Prostate Cancer Incidence and Mortality in a Large US Cohort.”
Journal of Clinical Oncology, September 19, 2016
... we now have evidence from the largest and longest study yet conducted on this subject that, in fact, there is no link between vasectomy and the risk of developing prostate cancer or dying from it. The Cancer Prevention Study II began in 1982 and ended in 2012. It included data from 363,726 men, including 42,015 who had vasectomies. The investigators also analyzed data from 66,542 other men, including 9,133 who were diagnosed with prostate cancer from 1992 to 2011 but did not die as a result of the disease. Here, too, the researchers found no difference in the incidence of prostate cancer among men who had vasectomies and those who didn’t. They also reported no differences in rates of aggressive prostate cancers between men who had vasectomies and those who didn’t.

The advent of industrial farming (agriculture) into human communities from 12,000 to 6,000 years ago enabled population growth to survive. With it came centers of population density, a necessity for politics, authoritarian leadership, urbanization, commerce, metalworking, the necessary use of fire for cooking, and, war (to take, control, and steal land). With grains becoming a staple, nickel toxicity became a toxic possibility which was never a concern for hunter-gatherers. In more recent times, the use of stainless steal cookware and flatware added to the potential for health compromise.
The prostate is like a garbage site and collects trash, pollutants and toxins.
For some reason, the metal nickel is always drawn to the prostate. Any nickel absorbed into the body goes directly to the prostate. An examination of the tissue of an enlarged prostate finds the metal nickel prevalent. The metal nickel does not belong in our body!
What is the effect of having the prostate loaded with nickel? Bacterial invasion!
What is the effect of having bacteria invade the prostate? Bacteria causes the prostate to become enlarged!
If you are toxic with nickel, this can invite hordes of urinary tract bacteria.
... Urinary tract bacteria are making use of your urea as their food. To digest it they first break the urea molecule apart into two ammonia molecules. It is the ammonia smell of the urine that gives away their presence. (Health) urine should have no ammonia smell. Only bacteria can do this! Their digestive enzyme is called urase. In order to do its job, this enzyme requires the element nickel. ...
Stainless steel is 8% nickel ... and 18% chromium.
(Many) of our spoons, knives, forks, (cookware) are made of (stainless steel).
... Due to pollution of animal feed with (nickel), even a hen's egg now has (high amounts).
Nickel is fat soluble and is stored in your skin fat temporarily when a surge of it enters the body. Your skin oils may be loaded with nickel causing "allergies" in the skin. Male pattern baldness is such an allergy. The sweat tries to excrete it for you. The skin oils dissolve nickel from metal jewellery (sometimes leaving your skin with a greenish black color) and transport it into your body. ...
Bacteria cannot live in the prostate without nickel being present.
Histamine is a nickel chelator. Taking Zinc is helpful too.
Nickel has an affinity for lungs (as well as prostate and skin).
The breasts are often full of nickel. Nickel is quite soluble in fat and the breast is mainly fat.
Nickel is one of the top carcinogens listed by researchers. It could even explain the high incidence of breast cancer. ...
Many adult rashes are due to "allergies".
Allergy to nickel is common ... The metal is pulled into the body (from the skin) for elimination.
Since nickel is used by so many bacteria, especially urinary bacteria, it doesn't get eliminated, it gets taken up by the bacteria. It also piles up in kidneys, adrenals, bladder and prostate where bacteria thrive on it. Strangely, it also accumulates in the male scalp (and in women's scalps who have male pattern baldness).

1991 (Good, Relevant information never ages)
Men's hormones impact the entire body - prostate health, sex drive, muscle strength, energy levels, mood, sleep and even hair loss. Men's hormones (especially as they get older) tend to greatly affect the prostate. The health of the prostate can be very revealing about a man's health in general, as it is also dependent on healthy hormone balance, proper intake of several important nutrients, exposure to plastics and other synthetic hormones and even lifestyle factors like stress. ...
It is important that men maintain the delicate balance of testosterone.
... Free testosterone can be converted into estradiol (a type of estrogen) though an enzyme called aromatase.
What has substantial effects on the prostate is the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT).
DHT as an overactive form of testosterone and, while it serves an important purpose, too much DHT after puberty is not a healthy thing. During puberty, DHT helps the prostate grow and reach a mature size, which is normal. However, when too much testosterone gets converted into DHT, there can be negative consequences for prostate wellness. As DHT is responsible for contributing to prostate growth, when the body loses its ability to regulate DHT, the prostate can be stimulated to excessively grow. Like all hormones, DHT must be kept in balance. Without DHT, the prostate would not be able to heal and repair itself, so some is necessary and even helpful. However, excess DHT has been implicated in conditions like BHP.
Castration or the withdrawal of (testosterone) produces atrophy of the gland. ...
administration of estrogen ... delays atrophy of the prostate (and, excess estrogen presence may contribute to prostate enlargement). ... abnormal enlargement of the prostate in older males usually arises in the inner mass which appears to respond to the decrease in (testosterone) secretion and the relative increase in estrogen levels. (Others) suggest that it is the work of excess testosterone build-up in the prostate that stimulates prostatic enlargement in a man's later years.

Sometimes, we may find that we are being challenged by multiple health issues which require contradictory influences for a better balance.
In my own experience, having lifelong LOW blood pressure with an enlarged PROSTATE, and, tachycardia was such a reality.
Taking supplements that would improve the healthfulness of one weakness would further challenge and weaken another.
In such situations, a mistake can be fatal.
Be sure to request Spiritual Guidance through prayer, or, use muscle testing to confirm what is health enhancing for YOU, when, how much, and with what other items.

Germicidal UV light and ion generator devices can improve the healthfulness of local breathable air.
Ultraviolet light is part of the light spectrum, which is classified into three wavelength ranges:
UV-C, from 100 nanometers (nm) to 280 nm
UV-B, from 280 nm to 315 nm
UV-A, from 315 nm to 400 nm
UV-C light is germicidal – i.e., it deactivates the DNA of bacteria, virus and other pathogens and thus destroys their ability to multiply and cause disease. Specifically, UV-C light causes damage to the nucleic acid of microorganisms by forming covalent bonds between certain adjacent bases in the DNA. The formation of such bonds prevent the DNA from being unzipped for replication, and the organism is unable to reproduce. In fact, when the organism tries to replicate, it dies.
Ultraviolet technology is a non-chemical approach to disinfection. In this method of disinfection, nothing is added which makes this process simple, inexpensive and requires very low maintenance. ...
The below CHART is a selection of UV-C sensitive pathogens, and their mutations, that may have been protected against in my internal and external (apartment) environment during 2018-2019 when I was enhancing my health against significant infections of Aspergillosis, Biofilms, Giardia, and various viruses, AND, doing my best NOT to acquire additional pathogenic outbreaks --- through the continual use of a small UV-C generator.
IF your prostate and general health are being challenged, degraded, and weakened by significant infections, and external biological and chemical pollutants, ANY improvement may be sabotaged by these internal and external immunity and energy destroyers.

Damiana is a prostate tonic, anti-depressant and nutrient for sluggish sexual organs.
Damiana is a nerve tonic, prostate tonic, urinary antiseptic, anti-depressant, and it is mildly laxative. It ... has an affinity for the reproductive system and the nervous system. ... Using the combined actions of these 4 herbs (Saw Palmetto, Echinacea, Damiana, Yarrow) we can create at once a strong glandular tonic which is astringent and strengthening for a debilitated and most likely swollen prostate gland. ... These herbs support circulation, nerve impulses and blood conditioning respectively, with a mild laxative action present if needed.

Parts used: Rhizome and Roots
Has tonic, astringent and antiseptic properties.
The astringent and tonic properties are useful in treating and strengthening reproductive organs.
Combines well with Saw Palmetto and Echinacea for prostatitis.
*NOTE* Avoid prolonged high doses as this herb is known to diminish essential flora of the intestines.
Can also effect blood pressure. Contains berberine, which may lower blood pressure, and hydrastine, which may raise blood pressure. If you have a history of high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, glaucoma or stroke, exercise extreme caution and donít use this herb. ...
Goldenseal has potent antibacterial and antibiotic properties which helps reduce inflammations of prostate gland, making it a very beneficial home remedy for Prostatitis.
Goldenseal has been found to be effective against a number of disease-causing organisms, including Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, and Chlamydia species, E. coli, Salmonella typhi, Entamoeba histolytica and many others. Berberine and related alkaloids in goldenseal have been credited with its antimicrobial effects. Berberine may be responsible for the increased white blood cell activity associated with goldenseal use, as well as its promotion of blood flow in the liver and spleen.
The two compounds in goldenseal, berberine and hydrastine, have been studied widely. In animal studies, berberine was found to lower fevers, kill bacteria, fungi and protozoa, and slow the growth of tumors. It also stimulated contractions of the uterus, increased blood flow to the heart, and blocked some molecules involved in inflammation. Hydrastine was found to constrict blood vessels in the arms and legs. Although an extract of goldenseal caused muscle relaxation in animal tissues, berberine and hydrastine are also known to simulate contraction of the smooth muscles of uterus.
For the treatment of chlamydia, the most common as well as the most serious cause of acute nonbacterial prostatitis, (Michael Murray) suggests goldenseal root (Hydrastis canadensis), a natural antibiotic which has been proven effective against the chlamydia organism. Take one and one-half to three teaspoons of the tincture lone part herb to five parts alcohol or glycerin), one-quarter to one-half teaspoon of the fluid extract (equal parts herb and alcohol or glycerin), or 250 to 500 milligrams of the powdered herb in capsule form three times a day.

Hydrangea (Hydrangea Arborescens) is a flowering plant, about 10 feet high, with clusters of white or colored flowers.
Hydrangea is a popular ornamental plant, grown for its large flowerheads.
In the 1890s a doctor wrote about his success with hydrangea,
“Hydrangea would seem to be designed by the Almighty for a resolvent prostatic enlargement, because, under the influence of this remedy, induration gives way, and the products of inflammation are dissolved.”
He suggested a dose of 1 tablespoon of hydrangea extract, 3 times daily.
Wenzell, John, M.D.
“Prostate Gland” The Eclectic medical journal of Pennsylvania,
Vol. 1, No. 2. (Philadelphia: Eclectic Medical College of Pennsylvania. 1896) 351.
Amongst natural remedies for enlarged prostate, hydrangea
(also known as seven barks, common hydrangea, wild hydrangea, and mountain hydrangea) is famous with its long history of preserving the health of prostatic tissue.
Hydrangea (ornamental plant) is native to Northern and Southern America, as well as east and south Asia.
It was used in traditional Chinese medicine and by the Cherokee tribe of North America for the treatment of urinary disorders.
Hydrangea is clinically proved to have an anti-fungal effect;
it mainly acts by fighting infection and helps in overall treatment of enlarged and inflamed prostate.
Hydrangea is also a diuretic that enhances the urinary flow, furthermore, hydrangea successfully treat some annoying urination problems, like frequent urination plus painful urination.
Hydrangea contains cyanogenic glycoside, volatile oil, saponins, flavonoids, and other constituents.
Hydrangea has been used by native Americans for treating urinary health.
Today, it is still used to treat kidney and bladder problems.
As an effective remedy for treating urinary tract problems, hydrangea is primarily used to treat kidney and bladder stones, helping dissolve stones and expel them from the body. It is also used to treat prostatitis, helping reduce inflammation of the prostate and an enlarged prostate.
It helps relieve pain in the kidneys, urethra and bladder, dissolves stones, reduces the irritation associated with existing stones, and prevents the formation of stones in urinary tract.
Usually, hydrangea extract is found in the form of capsules.
By any mean, don’t take more than 2 grams of hydrangea daily and for a long period of time as well. ...
Please note, hydrangea is not recommended for long term use.
Although hydrangea has been used for centuries to treat urinary problems, ...
this remedy should be used under a doctor’s supervision, because hydrangea may cause low blood pressure, breathing problems, skin irritations or other side effects.

As 95% of all prostate cancers are slow-growing, an opportunity exists to prevent further cancer growth and progression. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) has been shown in laboratory studies to slow down the growth rate of prostate cancer cells, including those cancer cells with high metastatic potential. By disrupting the prostate cancer cell cycle, HBOT also increases the sensitivity of prostate cancer cells to various chemotherapeutic agents, and may potentiate chemotherapeutic agents that cause damage to the cancer cell DNA. For advanced or aggressive prostate cancer necessitating radiation therapy, Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is effective in ameliorating complications of radiation therapy, such as hemorrhagic cystitis (blood in the urine due to damage of the bladder wall) and proctitis (pain, bleeding and ulceration of the rectal wall).
Statistics:
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in Canadian men, accounting for an estimated 24% of all new cancer cases in men each year (2014 Canadian Cancer Statistics publication). It is the third leading cause of cancer death in Canadian men, accounting for 10% of all cancer deaths in 2014. It is estimated that one in eight Canadian men will develop prostate cancer during his lifetime, and that one in 28 men with prostate cancer will die from it.
Otto Warburg, German physiologist receiving Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1931 for his discovery that the root cause of cancer is oxygen deficiency, and proving that cancer cells are anaerobic (do not breathe oxygen) and cannot survive in the presence of high levels of oxygen.
"All normal cells have an absolute requirement for oxygen, but cancer cells can live without oxygen - a rule without exception. Deprive a cell 35% of its oxygen for 48 hours and it may become cancerous."
Here is a Personal Experience to prepare you for some possible REALITIES and Innovation benefiting health enhancing changes that you will hopefully not find necessary, or, if they do become necessary, you will have a context for what you may do.
I studied, trained for, and received my SCUBA registration in 1965 for compressed air underwater diving.
After that, I became quite familiar with decompression table use and the then latest technical details for the use of Oxygen rebreather and deep water rare (hydrogen-helium) mixed air diving. I was aware, over the years, particularly since 1990, of the use of decompression chambers being refitted and used to assist critically ill persons with high pressure oxygen therapy. From my SCUBA interests, I was aware that there was a decompression chamber in Vancouver, B.C. (a 6 hour drive from my home) and of sparse others at major locations near an ocean city or near some universities. When I confirmed that I had acquired CFS-ME in 2005, the use of pressurized oxygen sessions was one of my considerations. Cost and distance were concerns and I learned of the Lightning Therapy in time and with participation in an early training in Canada found that it was a critical part of my subsequent fast recovery.
With the fast change in my health during 2015, eventually resulting in a large expansion of my belly, the loss of intestinal peristaltic action, and forms of tiredness and other symptoms quite unlike that of CFS-ME ... I began to consider the use of Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy again. Financial assets and transportation access the made travel to Vancouver for it unrealistic. I was Spiritually Guided to move to Lethbridge in southern Alberta in mid-2017. After arriving and familiarizing myself with the surroundings, I found a large poster advertising Hyperbaric Oxygen treatments! Sadly, no one answered the phone number any longer and neither was their any form of answering machine or service. Even if they had been active, I found out that industry suggested costs were an average of $350.00 per session with a recommended minimum series of treatments being 28. Out of my league because no medical service or insurance in Canada would pay for or assist in the payments.
I looked into acquiring an oxygen supply in tanks, yet found that oxygen use for HEALTH in the province of Alberta was as restricted as I had found it to be in Ontario during a health challenge in the late 1990's. One had to have a physician's referral, and that only came for persons judged as having emphysema or needing a lung transplant. Physican awareness of Oxygen and Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy had remained in the medical dark ages.
Looking into obtaining compressed Oxygen bottles on a private pay basis with dispenser technolgy was going to be much more costly than I could afford --- after being forced to retire on a minimum pension a decade earlier --- having to finance the research, supplements, therapies, andliving expenses during 5 years to recover from CFS-ME --- and then, financing my choice of intensive volunteer work for 2 years --- followed by moving 800 miles. Adding a monthly expense to exceed my income by $1,000 was not an option. Next came the consideration of an Oxygen Concentrator ... the one noted below in the auggested Devices. For a one-time cost and the cost of low wattage electricity, I could use a portable unit daily, or more often, that would give me a 43% increase in my air supplied oxygen.
I found that the increased oxygen concentration use several times daily significantly increased my energy and enhanced my tincture and supplement benefits. Eventually, I found that the best location, for me, was beside my bed. That way, it was an easy way to turn it on for a lengthy duration each time I laid down to sleep. It had been my pattern, for much of the previous 6 years, to sleep for periods of 1-1/2 to 2 hours once or twice daily. With my health improvement in May-June of 2019, I was now sleeping more with 3 daily durations and oxygen supplementation.
In my experience, God ALWAYS knows what options are BEST for our daily efforts at health stabilization, recovery, and enhancement. Those options often involve other persons in some degree. Most other people NEVER ask God for ANY direction in the choices they make, and, God, in my experience, gave us CHOICE, so never imposes on us. So, with most other people Choosing NOT to do their best, it is no surprise that options that COULD be best for us will often belate, unavailable, not available yet, not within our financial or location resources --- and --- we will be BEST to continue to be Open Minded and continue to participatewith God to find the Best we can benefit from in the NOW.

Lycopene is found in red and orange fruits and vegetables, and is best sourced from cooked tomatoes.
Lycopene is a powerful antioxidant, as it protects the body from free radicals that aim to destroy body tissues to regain stability. When strong antioxidants, like lycopene, are present in our cells and tissues, the antioxidants in essence become martyrs, and give up their chemical stricter to become broken down in order to protect our body from the same fate. Free radical damage causes cellular inflammation and miscommunication, as well as damage to our DNA. This can lead to major dysfunction and premature aging of that cell or body part. When free radical damage is excessive, cells and parts of our tissues can be damaged enough to cause their death.
Not only does lycopene tend to go towards and accumulate in the prostate, once present there, it seems to have a very protective effect over prostate tissue and the viability of sperm overall. Lycopene also seems to have a positive effect on BPH symptoms. By protecting the prostate against free radical damage, several studies have shown that lycopene drastically improves scores on the International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) in as little as 6 months.
Beta-carotene is converted into vitamin A molecules in the small intestine.
These become found in concentration in the adrenal glands, the reproductive organs, the spleen, pancreas, and retina of the eye. The best natural sources are spirulina algae, carrots, pumpkins, squash, sweet potatoes and yams, tomatoes, red peppers, asparagus, broccoli, kale, collards, spinach, lettuce, fresh young Dandelion greens, sour cherrirs, nectarines, papayas, peaches, apricots, canteloupe, and prune plums.

Prostate Health Through Hormone Balance.

July 2015
Nettle offers a series of complex effects on the prostate, mainly by balancing the hormones that triggered the prostate to grow in the first place. Nettle inhibits the binding of testosterone to sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG). SHBG is a glycoprotein that preferably binds to testosterone and estrogen, and helps them reach their target organ, which in this case is the prostate. When testosterone and especially DHT (the bad testosterone), are unable to bind to this protein, the prostate receives less hormones and less stimulation.
Nettle protects the prostate by preventing DHT from stimulating the prostate to over-grow.
It is thought to be the lignans that have this effect.
Nettle is also thought to have an Anti-Estrogenic Effect.
While most of the other herbs used in the treatment on BPH work by preventing DHT from stimulating of the prostate, the active compounds of stinging nettle root extract also target the effects of estrogen hormones on the prostate. Estrogen also worsens the symptoms of BPH by blocking the breakdown of DHT which results in an increased level of DHT in the prostate. Nettle acts on the enzymes that turn testosterone into estrogen and blocks their action. Nettle also acts as inhibitor of the enzyme which converts testosterone to DHT, but this action is a bit weak. Saw palmetto is much more effective at this.
Further, nettle prevents DHT from binding to testosterone receptors by interfering with the receptor itself.
If DHT cannot bind, it cannot make the prostate grow. A 2005 study of more than 500 men showed that nettle extract improved urinary tract symptoms by an astonishing 81% in just 6 months, compared to just a 16% improvement in the placebo group. ...

... Pumpkin seeds and pumpkin seed oil support the prostate in several ways;
In addition to being a good source of zinc, pumpkin seeds are rich in vitamin E, including a diversity of forms of the vitamin e family.
Pumpkin seeds contain three of the four tocopherols, along with several tocomonoenols, a more bioavailable form of vitamin E that has only recently has been discovered.v Vitamin E plays a really important role in fertility and acts as a powerful antioxidant and neutralizer of inflammation inducing free radicals.
Pumpkin seed oil also helps to improve urinary function, including frequency of urination and difficulty fully emptying the bladder. In a 2009 study published in the journal Nutrition Research and Practice, men using 320 mg of pumpkin seed oil daily experienced a 58% improvement in urinary symptoms after one year. When the same study combined 320 mg of pumpkin seed oil with 320 mg of the herb saw palmetto, men had a 75.3% improvement in symptoms of BPH after 12 months.
This dramatic improvement, well known in the holistic world, is garnering attention from conventional medicine as well, and deservedly so. Pumpkin seeds, whether taken as a food or supplement, are a great addition to any men's health program. ...
Seeds are a most valuable food for developing prostate health.
They are a natural mucilaginous source of zinc and linoleic acid (vitamin F). This is important for respiration of internal organs and to help decongest the prostate gland and lessen residual urine.

Pygeum Africanum Extract Can Promote Prostate Health.
Dr. Michael Murray --- David Tierney --- March 5, 2015
Pygeum is an herbal extract taken from the bark of the African cherry tree.
The tree is also known as the African plum tree, or Prunus africanum.
his tree is a vulnerable native African species.
Its popular health effects and commercial overharvesting have hurt and endangered its wild populations.
Pygeum is such a sought-out alternative remedy due to the wide research supporting its benefits.
Some evidence suggests that the extract may help with everything from prostate and kidney health to general inflammation.
It also has some traditional uses.
Pygeum africanum is an evergreen tree native to Africa. An extract made from the dark-brown to gray bark of the trunk has been linked to a healthy prostate in a variety of research. More than 30 clinical studies, including a dozen double-blind studies, have shown pygeum extract to be effective in reducing nighttime urinary frequency, helping start urination, and fully emptying the bladder. Pygeum extract has also been shown to increase prostatic secretions and improve the composition of the seminal fluid.
Current treatment of prostate cancer often involves the use of antiandrogens -- synthetic compounds that block the action of testosterone. These compounds have numerous side effects and are of limited long-term benefit. Typically, antiandrogen treatment is effective only for a about 16 to 24 months, after which prostate cancer cells become androgen independent. Different mechanisms seem to be involved in this process, but one thing that often occurs is that the antiandrogens can promote prostate cancer progression.
This herb contains pentacyclic triterpenes, chemicals that shrink prostate tissue and reduce prostate irritation.
It is rich in phytosterols that can have their effects on 5-alfa-reductase, the enzyme playing a crucial role in prostate growth.
Pygeum may emerge as a significant protector against prostate cancer because pygeum extract and its components (atraric acid and N-butylbenzene-sulfonamide) inhibit the transfer of the human androgen receptor (AR) to the nucleus of the cancer cell -- a different mechanism than that of synthetic antiandrogens. Both laboratory and animal studies show pygeum components inhibit both the nuclear transport of AR and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) expression, and efficiently repress the growth of both androgen-dependent and some types of androgen-independent prostate cancer cells.
A study in 2012 (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3720175/) suggested that pygeum could help slow the growth of actual prostate cells. This may help prevent BPH from developing. Pygeum has also gained a reputation for potentially reducing the risk of prostate cancer. The same 2012 study showing pygeum’s BPH benefits also showed protection against cancerous prostate cells.
A 2014 study (https://search.proquest.com/openview/e...105751) found that many prostate herbs, including pygeum, could effectively treat prostatitis. These were even compared to antibiotics. No major differences were noticed between pygeum (and the other herbs) and antibiotics in the study.
Pygeum may help prostatitis due to its anti-inflammatory and urinary benefits.
It may help ease prostatitis symptoms similarly to how it helps relieve BPH symptoms.
This includes urination frequency, night urination, flow, pain, and inflammation.

A tropical shrub.
This herb may reduce prostate irritation within 4 weeks.
Taking Saw Palmetto may mask PSA test realities.
It may also slow down male pattern baldness spread.
Urinary issues are not really a problem with the bladder, but are often a problem with the prostate.
Saw palmetto trees are native to the southeastern United States and the berry is the part used medicinally.
This wonderful herb has a number of beneficial fatty acid constituents including Beta-sitosterol, capric acid, ferulic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid.
Beta sitosterol is a strong inflammation regulator that tends to work strongly in the prostate and in the heart and other types of smooth muscle like the bladder. Beta sitosterol is one of the reasons that saw palmetto works quite effectively to restore the prostate to a healthy size. Beta sitosterol is also a powerful antioxidant that helps to protect the prostate against free radical damage that turns on inflammation and damages cells. It has also been shown to act as a mild DHT blocker, as DHT is the hormone that often makes the prostate grow in the first place
Caprylic acid, another fatty acid in saw palmetto, is found in coconut oil and is an effective natural antimicrobial. Some aspects of BPH may be the result of a prostate infection, so it can be very helpful to take something like saw palmetto that contains caprylic acid to kill any infection that might be present. When the infection is gone, the inflammation can begin to subside.
Ferullic acid, also found in saw palmetto berries, is another antioxidant and free radical scavenger, protecting cells from the rusting that oxidative damage causes. It also keeps tissues healthy by inducing apoptosis, which is programmed cell death, in cells that are damaged beyond repair. ...
A 2001 study on beta sitosterol (one of the most important constituents of saw palmetto) showed that it dramatically improved symptoms of BPH, as assessed by The International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) and other measures - a questionnaire designed to assess symptoms of prostate dysfunction. In this study, the beta sitosterol group had an over 50% improvement in their prostate function, compared to just a 7% improvement in the placebo group after 6 months. Eighteen months later, the beta sitosterol group maintained a 55% improvement in symptoms of BPH.ix Saw palmetto is the go-to herb for the prostate because it addresses the problem directly, while also being safe and effective.
A review in the Journal of the American Medical Association concluded that saw palmetto facilitates urination in men with prostate problems about as well as medication. Natural chemicals in the herb appear to block (Dihydro-testosterone), a hormone that promotes prostate growth.

When you are looking to support your prostate with the correct diet and supplements; it is essential to have vitamins B6, B12 and folic acid in supplementary form. These are the essential vitamins for prostate health.
Chromosomal instability syndrome can lead to susceptibility to various malignancies, particularly prostate cancer. A combination of these vitamins with folic acid can largely prevent chromosomal breakage or chromosomal instability syndrome and promote a healthy prostate. Men need a (suggested) regular dose of 20 mg of vitamin B6, 100 to 200 mcg of vitamin B12 and 400 to 800 mg of folic acid per day to support a healthy prostate.

... the relative role of copper.
... both minerals compete for the same absorption sites in the intestines. Yet zinc requires the presence of a little copper to be usable by the body. To further complicate the mathematics of recommended dosages of each, it is a fact that considerable amounts of zinc are lost in sweat, while only small amounts of copper leaves the sweating body. ... (wild) foods rich in zinc also have (optimum) amounts of copper (yet) refined foods and supplements do not maintain this (nutritional balance).
Low levels of zinc in prostatic fluid have been correlated with prostate dysfunction, often stemming from hormone imbalance.
About 70% of men do not meet the recommended daily intake for zinc and this single nutrient has a huge impact on whether you can hold on to your good, well behaved testosterone, or whether it gets converted into DHT, his hyperactive, rambunctious cousin. When men have optimal levels of zinc, they have what they need to make only a healthy amount of DHT and no more. DHT is what makes the prostate grow excessively, and is also associated with hair loss, baldness, and acne.

The muscle you automatically tighten is the (PC) muscle. Muscles grow strong with exercise and become flaccid without it. Testicular Cancer Treatments: The Inguinal Orchiectomy
Orchiectomy_Page
by Doug Bank

last updated on Dec 08, 2004
While testicular cancer is an obvious reason to have a testes removed, this current entry provides another of several other valid reasons: possible reduced prostate enlargement issues.
... One testicle is all that is needed to do all the things you like doing: growing hair, being manly, having erections, intercourse, and babies -- all should still be possible with only one testicle. (Be aware, though, that many men with testicular cancer have had fertility problems before the testicle is removed. This problem may or may not go away after the orchiectomy.)
Certainly until the late 1980s or even the early 1990s there was no doubt whatsoever that orchiectomy was the gold standard for the hormonal treatment of advanced prostate cancer. By carrying out the surgical removal of a man's testes, the physician was able to completely shut down the synthesis of testosterone (later revealed to also be produced in the intestines), thus removing (excess) testosterone stimulation of the prostate cancer growth and progression of the disease. Even today (1995) the medical community still considers the development of every new form of treatment for advanced prostate cancer in terms of its effectiveness and safety compared to orchiectomy.
What are the advantages of orchiectomy?
- First, it is a single, simple, surgical procedure with a very low risk of problems and 100% effectiveness.
- Second, it can be carried out in ways which are not physically evident.
In other words, it is possible to carry out what is known as a subcapsular orchiectomy, in which the cores of the two testes are removed while the capsules remain in the scrotum. This means that the man still appears to be an "intact" male.
- Third, the side effects are limited to those resulting from the absence of testosterone: the two most important of these are impotence and gynecomastia (tenderness and swelling of the nipples and breasts), and both of these conditions are treatable.
... It is a great deal lower in cost over time than monthly injections of LHRH agonists and the patient can avoid the necessity of regular visits for monthly injections of LHRH agonists. However, it is well known that, presented with the choice, seven out of ten men will select LHRH therapy rather than orchiectomy.
It needs to be understood that there is a very real difference between an orchiectomy and emasculation.
After an orchiectomy (even an orchiectomy in which the testes are completely removed), the patient still retains full use of his penis, the scrotum is still present, and to all but the closest scrutiny a man still looks completely "male." Interestingly, there are rare but well documented cases of patients who retained sexual potency even after orchiectomy. This would appear to be impossible to explain (in 1995). However, it introduces a fascinating series of possible speculations on the nature of sexual function.
(If the concern is about a testicular tumor) ... it is likely that you have been treated only by a urologist and the urologist is the one who will give you the results. Of course, he will then offer an opinion as to what you should do next. Keep in mind that urologists are surgeons, and they are thus more likely to recommend surgery if there is more than one option. We recommend that if you are offered this option, you say "Thank you very much!" and take the pathology report (an opinion) to a medical oncologist for a second opinion. In fact, depending on the results, you might even want to get a second opinion on the pathology report. This is particularly important for people who have been diagnosed with "clinical stage I nonseminomatous germ cell cancer" as you may be eligible for surveillance depending on the specifics (and accuracy) of the report.
Ultrasound is very good at detecting testicular tumors ... if the ultrasound indicates a tumor, then it is most likely that the testicle has to come out. ... if it is a tumor ... statistics indicate that it is very likely that it is cancerous ... add in the fact that more than 95% of testicular tumors are malignant. The only way to tell if it is malignant is by looking at the dissected(!) testicle under a microscope. They cannot do a biopsy because if it is cancer, they do not want to risk disturbing or spreading the cancer while it is still in the body.
Note: The scrotal sac and the testicles belong to entirely different lymphatic systems.
The testicles drain into lymph nodes in the retroperitoneum (the area in and around your kidneys, hence the term RPLND surgery), while the scrotum itself drains into the pelvic lymph nodes. With TC's tendency to "head North", you don't usually have to worry about it spreading to the pelvic lymph nodes, but when there is cross contamination (as there would be if they did a biopsy), it becomes more difficult to treat / watch for relapses.
... an epidural or general anesthesia for the surgery.
General anesthesia is clearly the more traditional (2004) choice. However, an epidural (lower back) block may be beneficial if you do not
react well to general anesthetics -- such as if you are not young or in particularly good health. With the epidural anesthetic it is possible (though
maybe not desirable!) to remain awake and talkative during the whole operation! Both anesthetics have possible problems and side effects, ....
The actual removal is done by making about a 4 inch incision along the "bikini line" through the lower abdomen on the side in question -- they will NOT cut through the scrotal sack whatsoever. Once the incision has been made, the surgeon pushes the testicle up through the pelvic region and out it comes. A snip here, a stitch there, and you're done before you know it. Average time on the table is about 45 minutes to an hour, but you should probably expect to stay in the hospital at least overnight. Unlike the RPLND, this operation is very simple and should not require any special expertise on the part of the surgeon. Note that while most people do seem to stay overnight, more and more guys are going home the same day. There is no problem with this, just make sure you get some pain killers before you leave the hospital, just in case ...
The (doctors) will probably wake you up pretty soon afterwards and encourage you to get up and try to walk.
It will hurt, but it will also get your insides working faster and get you out of the hospital sooner. You'll probably have a reasonable amount of pain at the incision, and you might want to consider wearing sweatpants for a week or two. There may also be numbness of the skin around the incision, but that should eventually go away.
Different people will react differently to the operation.
Some will be up and about the next day; others will lay around in bed for a while.
We recommend that you try to get up and do something because otherwise you may just end up sitting around feeling sorry for yourself. Your attitude will make a huge difference in your recovery time; the better it is the better you will do. ... you. The doctor probably wont let you drive or do any heavy lifting for a couple of weeks, so be prepared to ask for help getting around. Developing a hernia because you tried to do too much too soon is no fun ...
Bilateral Orchiectomy Procedure
(Removal of both testes)
This procedure has the potential of adding 14 years to the average male life expectancy by significantly reducing the risk for prostate cancer and totally reducing the risk of testicular cancers. (however professional body builders using this technique in conjunction with steroid therapy for the purpose of body sculpting, are at somewhat greater risk to develop prostate cancers because of the increased hormone levels being
introduced). ...
Testicles were removed using a local anesthetic in less than an hour and a half.
The procedure was performed on an out-patient basis. Most patients do not require any pain medication post procedure.
PERSONAL Experience.
Canadian, Province of British Columbia, 2010 and earlier.
During the late 1990s I had researched Prostate Health as part of my health interest in enhancing health to avoid illness. A single orchiectomy appeared to be one of the more certain means to avoid Prostate Enlargement and Prostate Cancer. NONE of the few doctors in my region of health service nor the health service itself were amenable to this option, UNLESS I already was experiencing either of these illnesses. This provincial health strategy of spend least until the person dies, or, spend much more later at maximum risk seemed nonsense to me. In my experience, this strategy is followed by every healthcare bureaucracy operated under the direction of politically decided budgets.
I made efforts to acquaint myself with the surgery involved and to acquire the medical tools considered basic to effecting it. Doing the operation myself with the necessary tools and relevant information was, in my opinion, better than waiting for a disaster. I acquired everything advised with the exception of sutures. Access to these, at that time, and in that province, was limited to hospitals and surgeons. The significant protection of these tools from the public extended to not being available for one or more persons hiking in the back country and being prepared for emergency medical care in the face of a significant accident. This was before the era of widespread cellphone use and helicopter rescue services.
I do the best I can with what is available to me that will leave me in a state of relative safety.
My Spiritual Guidance received at that time indicated that without the sutures, I would be best to abandon the option. So, it was abandoned and largely forgotten. And the worst was forced to surface!

PERSONAL COMMENT.
The concluding recommendations of Tobe in his work was that REGULAR sexual orgasm with a loving partner with whom one had made a (religious) life-long commitment was the best insurance of maintaining prostate health. By the late 1970's or early 1980's, when I obtained and studied his book, I was coping with a likelihood of a divorce. I had believed in and had made an intentional lifelong commitment to my wife and this dramatic (for me) decision highlighted a number of real social and spiritual realities for me. In this case, I would not know until almost a decade later that I was experiencing an increased sensitivity to perceived rejection by my spouse because of inherited Energy Blocks. It was also at least a decade later when the medical literature available to the public first revealed that women who had been taking birth control pills for 3 years or longer almost always experienced a "significant" DECLINE in their libido. We had been married for 12 years and my wife had used birth control pills for the duration.
In this instance, the examination of the recommendation, I wrote to Mr. Tobe with my concerns and exposure to the current social realities. I was also aware that some other men were having similar experiences and definitively North American marriage survival statistics increasingly betrayed that there were difficulties being experienced in maintaining longer committed intimate relationships. Without the later degrees of awareness noted above, I indicated that the then social imprinting and demands/expectations, heightened by the then romance and sexually stimulating mass media (movies and music), together with the increasing urbanization of the population made an intensive knowledge of one's chosen love interest somewhat minimal. Added to this was the changing social and peer attitudes towards sexuality and intimacy being circulated in speech and books as well as on radio programs. The introduction of the concepts and practices of oral sex and swinging were prominent at the time. Pornography was also becoming an accepted gender bonding adjunct to professional and peer meetings. Attitudes towards pregnancy, child rearing, and self-expression were also creating increasing opportunities for partners to choose different values.
Part of this separation in Values was further highlighted by the edicts of various Christian denominations as well as vastly different interpretations of what the Bible was believed to rule on. Since likely decades previously, masturbation had been ruled by most representations of Christianity and peer group imprinting as qualifying for excommunication, leading to growing hair on one's palms, and becoming morally guilty of satanic influence. With all of these Value confrontations being experienced and being exposed to individuals and their peer groups, and with NO educational, religious, or other social effort to increase the integrity and empathy of communication between genders, individuals and peers ... committed relationships harboring a reality of true acceptance, respect, and understanding and support for one another seemed doomed.
The mandate of having a loving, intimate, lasting co-dependent relationship with a member of the opposite gender such that optimal experiences were shared by both in regular sexual expression to orgasm appeared overly idealistic and impractical as a RULE for long-term prostate health. Disagreements on frequency and other matters of intimacy appeared, then and to today, to resolve into degrees of sexual frustration, relationship doubt, religious guilt, depression, self-hate, and it appears, too often in some form of spousal abuse from one gender onto the other. If this was the baseline for prostate health, it would be doomed for the many. I never heard back from Mr. Tobe. My letter may have been lost in his move from the province of Ontario to that of British Columbia.

In high population density communities in which spouses are often away from each other for 10 or 12 hours daily (work requirements and role responsibilities), often are discouraged from communicating with each other about the majority of their activities for those times, while continually being exposed to graphic sexually stimulating advertising and peer shared videos, in a society in which recreational and pharmaceutical addictive drug use is endemic, with an increasingly ritualized environment, and an increasingly unstable ecology of weather trends, employment instability, and over-dramatic news reporting and political proposals ... a longer-term negative stress reducing intimate inter-dependent relationship is becoming unique. Yet the HEALTH benefits can be extreme.
In an age in which venereal diseases, parasite transfer, emotional dependency, and technology addiction are often expressed endemically ... including any person in one's intimate life experience becomes a challenge of the meaning of maturity. That includes having similar historical experiences which one can share with a likelihood of building empathy, acceptance, and respect for each other. It also demands the acknowledgement of the values and desires of the other person even when disagreed with. Even more important can be the ability to be humble and both know and explore when and if one has misunderstandings with what one's partner has communicated. It has equally become a rarity for a couple to place their spiritual values first before themselves, and, to place the integrity and intimacy of their relationship before their employers and the size of their incomes or the power of their careers. Without these baseline positive factors to balance stresses, the sexual expression side of one's prostate health will likely be restricted to masturbation to media expressions of respectful interactions, or, ritualized and positive fantasy experiences with a specific sex worker.
...
Unreleased sexual energies ... unconsummated foreplay (whether with an "engaged" partner, social date, spouse) or by way of the viewing of sexually arousing media (both erotic advertisements and suggestive visuals, and explicit pornography; both movies and Internet) will create congested blood flow and tense muscles in the pelvis (which could weaken or damage) prostate and nearby tissues. A release of these tensions can be effected by grabbing an anchored object (car bumper) and using your leg muscles attempt to lift it 3 consecutive times, relaxing about 5 seconds between lift efforts (or, by masturbation to orgasm). A pattern of unreleased energies can promote prostate enlargement ... as well as short-term pains in the testes region.
Excessive expenditure of ejaculate is cautioned against in both Chinese (TCM) guidelines and Indian Tantric Yoga recommendations. Generating sperm is considered to be an energy demanding process by these philosophies and the conservation of it is thus intended to enable the availability of energies for other activities and responsibilities. Each system of values has their own further specifics and suggested means for the redistribution of stimulated sexual energies. It was a common practice amongst some Middle Eastern priest inductions to intentionally over-stimulate the male genitals to the extent that the prostate would become damaged. This removed the pleasure and possibility for future sexual participation with others or by masturbation and was believed to make a focus on spiritual values and activities easier and more intensive with less physical distraction.

Prostatitis is inflammation or infection of the prostate gland.
This can in turn inflame the prostatic urethra and ultimately the bladder. ...
Causes often boil down to stress (usually, but not only, sexual stress [excess, infrequency, over-stimulation], excesses in diet (especially excess consumption of alcohol and caffeine products [including painkillers], lack of regular exercise and a secondary infection caused by another infection such as a tooth abscess, venereal disease, etc. ....
In addition to using appropriate herbal and nutritional therapy, congestion of an enlarged prostate can be relieved by the use of a firm seat on chairs and by avoiding cold, dampness, long rides in automobiles, trains, et., hard bicycle seats, alcohol (especially heavy beer drinking because of sheer volume and delay in urinating), caffeine, cooked hot spices which appear to irritate the prostatic urethra, and sexual excesses. The call to urinate must be acted on immediately for the bladder must never be permitted to be overextended.

This was my Canadian experience at the time. It likely has not changed or differed for others.
It is likely similar in many parts of the USA and in other countries.
I could find no Physician who would consider referring me to a surgeon to have an orchiectomy.
Any surgeon, of the few I could contact, had no confidence in the experimentally proven approach.
I even approached a veterinarian who expressed great concern that if it ever became known that he had operated on a HUMAN, he could lose his licenses and career. It didn't to me, sound as such a complicated action. As always previously, God would never indicate that such was the currently Best remedy and that I could effect it on myself IF it were going to be unsafe. I could and did understand the physical procedures involved. But I was going to have to get surgical sutures to add to the cutting and bandaging tools I already had.
In Canada, I found, at that time (2005), sutures could ONLY be purchased by human patient hospitals and veterinarian hospitals.
It took a lot of effort and searching just to find a company that sold sutures. I presented the context that I was going to be doing a long hike through a wilderness area, with several other persons, and, we wanted to be prepared for any emergency medical care that might result from an accident. No go. Somehow, the Canadian medical system and government had struck FEAR into the suture manufacturers and the hospital administrators that if INDIVIDUALS, who were not politically sanctioned to commit surgery obtained sutures, and, used same to result in infected wounds, or death ... SOMEONE would be held responsible for incompetence. So, better SAFE in one's occupation and the Patient is left at risk with declining health.
Reflection can sometimes reveal why denial or procrastination have dominated.

It was early July, 2019 when I reviewed some older records from 2005.
From the Fall of 2003 to the late summer of 2005 I had been researching and making efforts to understand what CFS-ME was.
One cannot intelligently treat an illness one knows nothing about ... which seems to be the reason behind the repeated trend of the medical industry choosing to just throw any and all pharmaceuticals at whatever is complex and hope that something magically works. If something works, then we'll add a rationalized excuse to it later as to why it worked. So, we may use projection and superstition to GUESS at what the illness is based upon one or two symptoms held in common with our favorite and known ailment, and then, if it seems that we are getting a positive from that drug, we'll advocate the absolute use of it based upon the fewest examples. And, if the patient dies from the drug influence ... well, it is just unfortunate but we got to the patient too late and they didn't respond in time! It is the fault of the patient that they died ... because we are never wrong in our simplistic prescribing, and, drugs are the new magic. This left an environment with numerous doctors, who had never experienced ANY form of CFS-ME themselves, advocating "cures" that seemed to only be effective for a minor number of patients, including NOT us!
In August, 2005, it had come to my awareness that I was experiencing symptoms of prostate enlargement and likely had for as long as 2 years. It was both definitive, and, confused and muffled by the CFS-ME symptoms which were different. In the previous 1-1/2 years, since moving to the province of British Columbia, we had placed ourselves on waiting lists for a general physician acceptance of new patients anywhere in the accepted service area. Like a number of other residents, in the interim, we were restricted to attending an Emergency Department physician at a hospital, and then arranging appointments to see him at his ex-hospital office. No doctor had ever in this time checked my prostate during ANY general physical exam, or, in relation to the symptoms I was mentioning. I did begin taking Saw Palmetto herbal supplement but after a number of months the benefits were overshadowed by other challenges, it became less available in the region I was living in, and finances were more demanded elsewhere. It became less beneficial and it slid into the background and became forgotten.
Previous problems and solutions can make a new and needed later simple diagnosis difficult.
O Index
During the mid-1990's and early 2000's I had experienced, twice, significant hemorrhoid problems.
In each case, I had gone to a Rudd Clinic (Ontario) location and arranged the in-office brief Cryotherapy surgery which remedied up to 3 hemorrhoids at a visit followed by the ability to return to work immediately after. This form of surgery, largely pain free and fast healing had one downside: scar tissue. This could, and in some cases did, make a digital (finger) anal exam for prostate health difficult. Even considering and asking for such an exam became increasingly a lower important concern than the significant CFS-ME current (2003 to 2008) situation, the desire to re-establish my income and professional life after recovering fully from CFS-ME (2009 to 2014), and, coping with a sudden significant expansion of my belly accompanied by NO peristaltic action (2015 to 2019). If you want to drain the swamp and plant a crop, it may be best to remove or relocate the alligators first. Alligators are VERY sensitive to ANY movement in the water. Their skin has many pressure sensors and they are very strike reactive, so, jumping into the water to clear brush is like a bugle call to be attacked. If that happens, you don't grow any crops. You don't live out the next few minutes. You don't have a future ... by your ignorance, impatience, and lack of Respect for what is already a danger.
As tends to be my response, when I could not get any interest from or support from the medical community, I aggressively researched any info available at the time for understanding of and consequently treatment of an enlarged prostate. Surgical approaches had been and newly were available. It wasn't a plus for my thinking that most of them resolved into permanent urinary incontinence afterwards and minimal capacity for sexual ejaculation. Even then, it was believed that EXCESS testosterone production for the lifestyle of the individual would be mutated into a destructive form of testosterone which would increasingly force prostate tissue growth and organ enlargement. With male testosterone being produced in the testes (2) and the small intestine, there seemed to be a straightforward remedy. Remove one of the testes, an Orchiectomy. Tests had consistently confirmed that enough testosterone would be produced by ONE testes and a healthy small intestine for GOOD health, urinary integrity, and an absence of sexual difficulties.
Constructive Options can sometimes be denied for unwarranted Fear.

Self surgery (orchiectomy) became the best option for long-term prostate health yet only if I had the necessary tools and that wasn't going to happen. What other possibilities could I follow through. During the late 1990's I had encountered possible testicular cancer. The General Practitioner I had gone to had told me directly that I had all the symptoms of the cancer, it was usually fast progressing, and if I had any possible non-medical approaches to follow ... set aside medical possibilities and get on with the alternatives. Her inside experience of the reality of the Ontario medical system at the time ... the system she had to work within, was that her medical option was to refer me to a urologist. Even on an urgent or "emergency" referral, an appointment would likely take as long as 8 to 10 months to obtain. Then, there would likely be tests involved which could take another 2 to 6 weeks to assess. Finally, if surgery was going to be an option, the REALISTIC likelihood would be as long as 1-1/2 years. If I really had testicular cancer, as it seemed, I could be dead in 6 months!
At that time, late 1990's, I had fallen back on my ever dependable Spiritual Guidance for direction.
For a period of weeks, I daily ASKED God for direction and LISTENED. I took HUGE quantities of vitamin C (up to 28,000 units per day) together with HUGE quantities of Milk Thistle and several other supplements. Never once did I experience symptoms of toxicity as when one takes a dose which is too large and unhealthy for one's body. Within a month, the testicular problem resolved and the dosages dropped to a normal amount. I later learned that a man using a standard pregnancy test -- which tests urine and then signals with a color indicator if one is pregnant -- was considered a dependable test for colon, prostate, testicular and several other cancers. After that, I kept a spare test handy.
An immediate, significant and confusing health decline can distract us from lesser urgencies.
O Index
There was a possibility now, 2005, that I had CFS-ME because of a severely weakened immune system.
It was further a possibility that if I had some form of cancer, that could be pulling down my immune system.
It was also an increasingly popular recognition at the time (2005) that the Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) test was a good indicator of whether a man had either testicular or colon cancer. Commonly, the test is run on pregnant women to assess if their fetus has a genetic abnormality. in October, I requested that my Emergency Department doctor run the AFP test. Denied. In November, I requested that we have a CAT scan or MRI or ultrasound to check for a cancer or tumor .. Denied. I was feeling and being told that I was dying and I could not access ANY medical tests to confirm or deny if possible illness factors were relevant or not.
In early December, I became more aggressive. If my doctor, the only one available to me was not going to refer me to a CFS-ME specialist ... I would somehow find another doctor. Grudgingly, he obtained an appointment for both myself and my wife to see the provincial specialist in Vancouver, a city 5-1/2 hours or more drive away. The possibility of addressing prostate symptoms throughout this duration fell further and further into the background. Remember, in the Canadian approach to healthcare, the physician is administratively only allowed to consider ONE symptom per office visit. Cancer, or, prostate? Which were more likely to be contributing to the CFS-ME. Research reports from the USA clearly indicated that 1/3 of CFS-ME patients died from a cancer. None died from an enlarged prostate!
Awareness, respect, and responsibility can bring automatic adaptations.
O Index
In the early 1980's when I went to university after working full-time for 10 years, I came to the great awareness that men, urinating into a toilet from a standing position constantly blanketed the floor surrounding the toilet with urine splash from the bowl. This resulted in someone either regularly washing the bathroom floor to remove the caustic, greasy, and smelly urine buildup, becoming an irresponsible male (of which there are many), or, changing one's toilet habits to sitting down to urinate. I had opted for the latter since. A dynamic changes when one's prostate begins to enlarge. Sitting down to urinate places increased internal pressure on both the prostate and the urinary apparatus. As the prostate enlarges, it becomes ever more difficult to begin a urine flow or continue it. However, standing to urinate removes this added internal pressure and a flow happens much easier. But then there is the reality of the toilet bowl splash out. I quickly and almost automatically addressed this by urinating into a large (1 litre) yoghurt container. My full bladder would just about fill the container. Then, it was a simple act to gently empty the container into the toilet bowl, flush, and clean the container in the sink in prep for the next time.
As the years progressed from the early 2000's forward, at ever a tiny pace of increasing difficulties, I also learned, almost automatically, that by using my Pubococcygeal Muscle I could assist the expulsion of urine into the plastic container when standing proved not to be enough benefit. This enabled me to squirt all the urine out of my bladder and all was OK. Beginning in 2015, the sudden expansion of my belly and loss of intestinal peristaltic action appeared. No one had ever had a sudden and HUGE prostate growth to account for these changes, so, look elsewhere and set aside the prostate issues. Prostate symptom development had also been imperceptively slow and unlike the black and white descriptions frequently noted as indicators. I never had dribbling urine flow. I never woke up during the night with an urgency to void urine. I didn't have ejaculation difficulties, though such had been exercised very little in more recent years. Remember the alligators again. By early 2019, I suddenly became aware that I had lost ALL abdominal muscle strength. In my teens I had muscle built this area to be stronger than that of any of my peers. Now, I could not even START to do a sit up or leg raise from a supine position. I began rebuilding these muscles.
The unknown can sometimes be a critical factor.

It is late June, 2019 as I wrote the following.
I have not yet fully recovered from the multiple health challenges that became disabling in mid-2016, but I have defined a number of them, eliminated some, significantly reduced others, and remained able to look after myself independently throughout the process. Here is a reflective BRIEF of how such a health disaster developed and how it has been diminished. As a REAL example of what can be, perhaps you can avoid something similar, cope with something less complex, and/or have the confidence that a partial or full recovery may be possible for something others will be confident to tell you that you will NEVER recover from, or, respond to your requests for assistance (as they have MANY more resources) with blank questioning stares and suggestions that you are somehow weird because they don't have a simple explanation beyond a reactive prescription for what they have not made any scientific effort to diagnose.
The possibility of a Protozoan infection as a major contributor to my lack of intestinal peristalsis and belly expansion came late.
The main symptoms I had constantly, suggested the presence of something more "major", bigger, and more common.
The reality is that a protozoan infection can be major ... they kill people; it can be silent, chronic, or acute; it is considered by those familiar with protozoan diseases that EVERY person has one or two such infections ... which may remain with them for a lifetime (depending on how long you live). I may have been fortunate in NOT finding out about mine until more recently AFTER ridding myself from multiple other significant illnesses. Attempting to rid myself of a protozoan infection BEFORE lessening the influence of the other factors could have been terminal --- just too much of a challenge for anyone.
A SUDDEN health change following many dramatic challenges and recoveries.
O Index
This life challenge of significant health distress began suddenly (within hours) in mid-2015.
During the early 1970s, I had an at work severe back injury, later fully recovered from.
After that, I was treated for "missing time" with a botched lumbar puncture leading to 60 hours of severe pain.
Beginning in mid-1970 and repeated in the early 1990s and early 2000s, I had been exposed to SEVERE whiplash injuries.
During the early 1980s I was earning a Combined Honors at university and studying neurophysiology & communications.
During the mid-1980s, I had acquired 36 hypersensitivities of which 4 were life threatening. I fully recovered.
During the 1990s and early 2000s I had experienced and recovered from 3 very HIGH levels of Mercury toxicity.
During the early 2000s, I suddenly acquired CFS-ME which took me 5 years to understand and recover fully from.
In late 2018, I had another severe lower back injury and this added a few more months of patience demanding delays.
In early 2019, I confirmed, by herbal use, that I had a long present enlarged prostate, adding to the blockage problems.
By early summer, I confirmed that I had at least one Prion illness infection and I could cope with it.
This, 2016 to mid-2019+ episode involved NO intestinal peristaltic action and a suddenly ballooning belly.
The mid-2016 symptoms put an end to the political conflict resolution volunteer work that had occupied me for an average of 80 hours per week, after a year and a half of intensive involvement. For the next year, I made preparation to die, move, or recover. Local medical and other affordable health resources proved unhelpful and discouraging. Options for diagnosis existed but those with the resources were restricted in their application by ignorance, educational inertia, institutional restraint and control, and my own financial resources preventing me from going to another country for more relevant assistance. In mid-2017, I moved to the southern part of the Canadian province of Alberta. A new start with the customary medical tests went nowhere. Exposure to both privately funded tests and their availability enabled me to research further and define several significant health challenging realities: HIGH levels of (toxic) heavy metals and HIGH toxic levels of other minerals. ANY of these are known to depress physiological functions (like peristalsis), encourage cell & tissue mutations (including cysts, tumors, cancers), and result in fatigue and lead to death.
A Protozoan infection or two was a significant insight.
O Index
I embarked on detoxing as fast as personally safely possible.
This process had to be interrupted a number of times to enable me to cope with and get past several SEVERE viral infections, an episode of Bartonella, a challenge of Hansen's Disease (leprosy), local infestations of cockroaches and bedbugs, and, an increasing presence of Aspergillosis which grew to become systemic. NONE of these were considered worth diagnosing nor medical problems by my doctor. Other doctors, if available, were restricted within the same bureaucratic attitudes, training, and denial --- not THEIR problem. Once these were out of the way, or severely reduced ... I discovered a ropeworm/biofilm infection which might have been present long-term. I also confirmed that PART of my belly sudden growth was likely due to an acute Potassium deficiency ... which usually was fatal, so had not been researched since the early 1950's! Once these were significantly reduced ... I got to Prions and Protozoan infections.
Following my Spiritually Guided (always found by me to be super scientific) daily best supplement, health device usage, and food choices, I passed a thick layer of FOAM onto the top of the toilet water in mid-June, 2019. I had begun to have periods of NORMAL passage of NORMAL pooh earlier in June. From this event, I have had NORMAL excretion activities ... even more often than I would prefer, since. The culprit was GIARDIA. With the physical weaknesses imposed on me by the earlier and other factors, the Giardia had taken an expanding residence of its own in my Small Intestine. It had contributed to the lack of peristaltic action ... which encouraged the aspergillosis and biofilm problems. I am not finished yet, but getting close to reacquiring the best health I can have, given my lifetime experiences, exposures, choices, and resources. I have (mid-2019) another protozoan infection to recover from, and, a Prion reality which can only be coped with. Together with those, I have the legacy of 22 Physical mutations that I have adjusted to over the years and presently, largely with dietary changes.
Effective use of Herbs and Supplements have now enabled a Managed Prostate, for ME.

A PROTEIN contribution to an enlarged prostate came suddenly and dramatically into awareness in mid-July, 2019.
O Index
I had been Spiritually Guided to suddenly cease eating any form of beef, pork, chicken, fish, egg near mid-April, 2019.
I expected that this would be short-term and that the ban would eventually be lifted or relaxed as my health improved.
As noted elsewhere, my health dramatically improved at the beginning of June with the expulsion of possible Giardia.
The result was an immediate and constant return of both intestinal peristaltic action, the progression of stool from small to large intestine, and, the passage of the most normal looking stool (medium brown, medium texture, fully digested food, NO fungi, No evidence of biofilm, easily expelled) in YEARS. As I write this, there had NEVER been a requirement for me to return to the enema assisted colon flush protocols in 6 WEEKS (42 days), until now.
I had been Guided to purchase a package of Angus Beef hamburger patties, on Sale.
As had become my routine, when I arrived home I fried all of the patties to remove excess fat and well cook and brown the exterior. This meant that I could eat any amount of the cooked meat at any time without making a mess with turning on the range and frying a new batch. Of course, for me, who had liked eating beef yet had restricted my intake for 30 years, and had not had any exposure for 3 months, I may have eated more than best over the next 1-1/2 days. This immediately and dramatically changed some health indicators.
- My now regular several times per day passage of stool stopped;
- My normal minor flatulence stopped ...
------ When stool passes into the large intestine, it is NORMAL for the biome there to produce SOME gas;
- I ceased to become NORMALLY tired and sleepy ...
------ I had learned from longer-term experience that when there is NEVER any stool in the colon, certain hormones, including melatonin are NOT produced and sleepiness can be greatly reduced;
- The longer I was without defecation and without sleep, the more I experienced symptoms of blood toxicity ...
------ foggy mentally, eyesight blurring, inability to focus and work, very slight development of joint pains;
- A very subtle increase in my abdominal bulk; and later
- A noticeable blocking of my urine flow (enlarged prostate?).
Diagnosing and becoming aware of WHAT this dynamic might mean was, as usual, for me, hampered by the REALITY that I experienced NO abdominal or groin pain or discomfort, NO desire to pass stool, NO headache or other significant pains, and, NO flatulence. Eventually, after the duration from the Friday night to the Sunday morning, a POSSIBILITY came to my awareness ... I was best to do an enema Protocol and get the digested meat and other stool MOVING. I confirmed this with Guidance, and began. Within minutes, I was passing a HUGE amount of stool, my belly reduced in size, my head cleared, my eyesight improved. Hours later, when something non-protein was admitted to my digestion, the regular passage of stool returned, and the symptoms of an enlarged prostate / blocked urine flow, were gone.
A LOW PROTEIN diet had become necessary for MY Prostate health.
O Index
By personal test / retest over my lifetime I had confirmed the "O" Blood Type inability to digest beans, lentils, some dairy, Brassica family vegeables, cabbage. I had learned, also by consistent responses to testing, that ALL symptoms of muscle and joint tension, stiffness, and pain could be avoided by SELDOM eating beef or pork since 1980, for me. Certain metabolic changes had appeared to become present, for me, since early 2019 or before. They were sharp and immediate changes that were easy to confirm. One was Green Peas (high in protein). I had focused my diet in more recent months on Sprouted and Whole Grain breads and cookies (a different form of protein). I had also focused on soups and broths (chicken and beef) to replace most starches and vegetables. A more recent change AWAY from the chicken and beef broths (which contain Gelatin ... see elsewhere) to a Vegetable broth had also proven beneficial. These were highly Bebeficial changes for ME. That means that some or all, or none, may be of benefit to the management of YOUR Prostate, or that of a male important to you.
This recent TEST demonstrated to me the Black-and-White difference ot the health of my prostate and intestines of REDUCING to near nothing my exposure to many forms of PROTEIN as noted above. Among other associations we know that THESE forms of protein are highly involved in the production of testosterone. And, we know that if the male has a "surplus" of testosterone in their system, it will be converted to a destructive form that will encourage a reactivation of prostate tissue growth ... which will result in enlargement problems. There are possibly other hormones involved in this metabolic scenario which can reduce intestinal peristalsis. A short-term cessation of metabolic activity and bood toxicifcation can encourgae reactive symptoms we usually associate with HIGH levels of testosterone (for those with less-than-optimum coping skills): increased sensitivity to and expression of anxiety, fear, frustration, anger, activity, violence, reactivity, crowd rage, acting out, depression ... just what our war prone species seems to benefit from with a high meat eating diet.
Wishing YOU a much easier and less costly health maintenance and recovery set of experiences.

Used for thousands of years for a variety of different therapeutic applications, licorice is an ideal supplement for people under stress or concerned about adrenal health. This sweet tasting root contains active components that can provide support to your adrenal glands, thus optimizing your body's response to stress.
Contains a minimum of 6.5% active ingredient.
Licorice is well known as a flavouring agent and you may not know that it has a rich history of medicinal use.
Licorice is an adaptogenic herb, meaning that it helps people during stressful times and recovery from illness and fatigue. Studies show that licorice contains chemicals that have a structure that is similar to the steroid hormones. The end result is stimulation of the adrenal gland and activation of the body's energy reserves. This response keeps us safe, allowing us to fight for survival, or to flee from dangerous situations. It also increases heart rate; blood pressure and blood flow to the brain, muscles, lungs and heart.
Thus licorice leads to increased energy, mental performance and performance in physical tasks.
This response can deplete the body after a while so licorice must be used in moderation.
Licorice also contains substances that regulate blood sugar, which also helps its energy enhancing properties. Licorice is a demulcent, an agent that coats and protects mucosal surfaces.
In the respiratory tract licorice decreases cough, speeds removal of mucus and helps to heal the tract. In the stomach and intestines DGL licorice protects the lining from ulceration. Licorice also has anti-inflammatory properties and weak estrogen hormonal balancing activity. Natural health practitioners recommend licorice for a variety of needs including increased energy, stress, colds and coughs. DGL licorice is recommended for stomach and intestinal ulcers.
Features:
- Helps the body adapt to stress
- Supports the adrenal glands
- Aids in the healing of stomach lining and intestinal tract

Nettle leaf has been used to decrease allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and congestion.
It is also commonly recommend as an aid to increase the excretion of uric acid in the kidney and increase its transportation out of tissues, making it ideal for those who suffer from Gout.

- Certified organically grown
- Signals inflammatory cells
- Decrease allergy symptoms
- prevents the prostate's enlargement
- Easy to use & absorb liquid tincture
Stinging nettle is a commonly seen plant in North America.
Several parts of the plant have been studied for their medicinal benefit.
Nettle leaf has been used to decrease allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and congestion.
It does this by stabilizing cells that release histamine, called mast cells.
Histamine is responsible for inducing the allergic response by signaling inflammatory cells to go to the mucus membranes.
Nettle leaf is also used to increase the excretion of uric acid in the kidney and increase its transportation out of tissues.
This will help gout sufferers because it is the crystallization of uric acid in the joints that leads to gouty arthritis.
Nettle root is used for prostate disorders like BPH.
Components in nettle bind to hormone receptors in the prostate thus preventing the stimulation of the gland, which ultimately prevents the prostate's enlargement.
This herb is used for a variety of other problems and disorders:
- anemia,
- poor circulation,
- internal bleeding (e.g. uterine bleeding),
- epistaxis (i.e. nosebleeds),
- melena,
- enlarged spleen,
- biliary dysfunctions,
- stomach hyperacidity,
- diarrhea,
- dysentery,
- endocrine disorders including diabetes,
- eczema,
- rashes,
- pulmonary congestion,
- asthma, and
- cancer.
Nettle acts as a blood purifier and general tonic, slowing the process of aging.
It also helps to heal wounds.
As well, this herb plays a role in irrigation therapy.
In irrigation therapy Nettle is taken with a large volume of fluids, which increases urine flow and facilitates the treatment of urinary tract infections (UTIs) and inflammations, as well as kidney stones (nephrolithiasis).
Benefits of Tinctures
Capsules, soft gels and tablets are very popular.
Tinctures, however, have many advantages over these modes of delivery.
The bio-availability of tinctures is very high in comparison, because unlike pills tinctures don't rely on digestion to break them down.
Tinctures are readily absorbed by the body, beginning their work in the bloodstream almost as soon as they enter the mouth.
Note also that:
Tinctures can be applied externally as well as internally
Tinctures can be stored for long periods of time, even years, without loss of effectiveness
Tinctures can be taken relatively accurately because they are administered in drops
Why are tinctures alcohol-based?
Not only is the alcohol in St. Francis tinctures indispensable for extracting the active ingredients of an herb, it is also needed to stabilize and preserve them. As well as limiting microbial activity, alcohol has the ability to inhibit enzymatic or hydrolytic reactions in plant extracts.
Alcohol plays the role of a carrier substance conveying active ingredients within the body. Beyond that, it has been scientifically proven that small amounts of alcohol actually enhance the immune system and its defenses.
The amount of alcohol taken in an average dose of tincture, you'll be surprised to learn, is about the same as what you'd find in an overly ripe banana!
Dosage: 20-40 drops in a little water, 3 times daily, before meals.

PUMPKIN SEED OIL 1000MG - 100 GELS
Pumpkin seeds not only taste great they are also rich in nutrients.
NOW Pumpkin Seed caps contain 1000 mg of pure pumpkin seed oil derived from unrefined, expeller-pressed Pumpkin Seed Oil. Naturally rich in essential fatty acids, amino acids and trace minerals, pumpkin seed oil is particularly high in zinc which is why it is often found in prostate formulas. [SOFTGELS]
The essential fatty acids found in pumpkin seed oil are required in our diet more than any other vitamin, yet our bodies do not naturally produce them. They must be obtained from external sources in the food we eat. Pumpkin seed oil has been shown to improve skin, increase energy, maintain and improve men's sexual health and optimize brain function. Pumpkin seed oil is known to prevent and alleviate bladder and prostate problems, treat depression and learning disorders and prevent atherosclerosis.
Pumpkin seed oil contains 43% omega 6 fatty acids such as,
linoleic acid and
gamma linolenic acid (GLA), and
16% omega 3 fatty acid,
alpha-linolenic acid,
which is considered an optimal ratio from a nutritional standpoint.
In addition to the essential fatty acids pumpkin seed oil contains any vitamins and minerals including
zinc,
vitamin E and
vitamin A. ...
Features:
- Nutrient Rich, Cold pressed Pumpkin Seed oil.
- High EFA's, amino acids, trace minerals.
- Especially rich in Zinc, Vitamin A & Vitamin C.
- A good choice for men concerned with prostate health.
- All natural, unrefined.
Dosage: Take 2 soft gels, 1 to 3 times daily with meals.
Why can't I just eat the seeds?
Raw pumpkin seeds are in a fact highly nutritious snack and eating them on regular basis does offer nutritional benefits.
However, the amount of pumpkin seeds that would need to be consumed to equal the nutritional benefits in found in the compressed oil, is far beyond what the average person would like to consume. Additionally, in order for the important essential fatty acids found within the seeds, to be released, complete and through chewing must take place. If you prefer the raw seeds, it is advisable to use a grinder and sprinkle the well ground seeds on food.
Pumpkin & The Prostate
Prostate problems occur when the gland becomes infected or swollen.
Infection can occur directly in the prostate or it can be a complication of a urinary tract infection.
The most common prostate condition is benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
It occurs in men over the age of fifty (but can occur earlier) due to hormonal imbalances, heredity, poor diet, nutrient deficiencies or high cholesterol. The growth of malignant or benign tumours can also cause prostate swelling. ...
BPH affects 1 in 3 men over age 50.
Symptoms appear when the prostate becomes large enough to interfere with urination.
Dribbling, frequent and urgent urination occur and often cause men to wake at night to urinate.
Starting and stopping urination can be difficult.
When bladder emptying is impaired there is an increased risk for the development of urinary stones and infections.
Drug therapy for BPH uses finasteride, which blocks the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT stimulates the growth of prostate cells.
Side effects of drug therapy include
- impotence,
- decreased libido and
- difficulty detecting prostate cancer.
DHT is a very active form of the hormone that can cause the prostate to become enlarged.
The herb saw palmetto and the essential fat supplement pumpkin seed oil both help to reduce the formation of DHT and its subsequent bonding to the gland.

SAW PALMETTO LIQUID - 100 ML
ST. FRANCIS SAW PALMETTO LIQUID is derived from fresh source saw palmetto berries only.
Saw palmetto is clinically proven to reduce the symptoms of enlarged or inflammed prostate and compare favourable against many prescription medications, but without side effects. [LIQUID]
Features:
- Certified organically grown
- May help reduce the risk of prostate cancer
- Helps relieve symptoms of BPH
- Ideal for men with urinary difficulties
- Easy to use & absorb liquid tincture
Saw palmetto, in many cases, relieves the symptoms of prostate enlargement just as well as conventional medication.
Prostate growth is stimulated by excess levels of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the condition known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Saw palmetto works by inhibiting the production of DHT, stopping DHT from binding in the prostate and increasing the rate at which DHT is metabolized in the gland.
Excess estrogen slows the removal of DHT from the prostate.
By inhibiting estrogen saw palmetto also improves BPH.
It has been shown in clinical studies to decrease the size of the prostate without altering PSA levels (the hormone that is a marker for prostate cancer).
Saw palmetto's medicinal qualities are most abundant in fat-soluble extracts of the berries.
Saw palmetto herb can vary in quality and medicinal value. Saw palmetto should be taken with meals that contain fat to improve its absorption.
Prior to using saw palmetto men should have a prostate screening and laboratory testing for prostate cancer.
Men who use conventional BPH medications should use saw palmetto under the guidance of a health professional. Saw palmetto can theoretically affect the efficacy of oral contraceptives and estrogen.

Vitamin B6
Pyridoxine is a water-soluble B vitamin.
There are several forms of B6 including pyridoxine, pyridoxal and pyridoxamine.
B6 is involved in more body functions than any other single nutrient.
It maintains fluid balance in the body, which can be useful for women who experience PMS bloating or individuals with carpal tunnel syndrome. B6 helps to make hemoglobin, the oxygen- carrying component of red blood cells. It is needed to synthesize genetic material and is essential for normal cellular growth. B6 is required for the production of neurochemicals in the brain, such as serotonin, which regulates pleasurable experiences and appetite, and GABA, which calms the body. Therefore, B6 is useful for a variety of neurological disorders including autism and hormonally related depression. It plays an important role in the conversion of homocysteine into harmless substances. Homocysteine damages the inner lining of arteries and high levels of homocysteine are correlated to an increased risk of atherosclerosis. B6 can be used to treat
anemia,
allergies,
arthritis,
asthma,
cancer,
kidney stones,
pregnancy-related nausea and
MS.
Vitamin B12
B12 is a water-soluble B vitamin.
Deficiencies of B12 may not be seen for several years because the body can store up to 5 years worth of this vitamin.
There are several forms of B12 including cyanocobalamin and methylcobalamin.
B12 is required in areas where there is high cell turnover, for example the gastrointestinal tract, bone marrow and nervous system. Thus B12 has been used for the treatment of neurological diseases like multiple sclerosis and depression. B12 regulates blood cell production, with folic acid. Lack of B12 leads to types of anemia where the red blood cells look too large, macrocytic, under the microscope. Supplementing sublingually with B12 reverses this type of anemia. B12 is required for digestion, fertility and the normal growth and development of all cells. It enhances learning and memory, and normalizes sleep patterns.
Folic Acid
Folic acid is a water-soluble member of the B complex.
It is also known as folate and folacin.
This vitamin is needed for energy production, cell replication and the formation of red and white blood cells.
It plays an important role in the conversion of homocysteine into harmless substances.
Homocysteine damages the inner lining of arteries and high levels of homocysteine are correlated to an increased risk of atherosclerosis. Folic acid is especially needed in areas where there is high cell turnover. Therefore it is an essential component of normal fetal development, especially in the first trimester when most of the neural network is laid down. It is commonly recommended by natural health care practitioners for a variety of different therapeutic applications including: cervical dysplasia, depression, anxiety, anemia and atherosclerosis.

Vitamin C
- vitamin c is an essential nutrient and potent antioxidant.
Many studies have demonstrated that vitamin c can be beneficial in the treatment and prevention of the common cold, respiratory ailments and urinary tract infections.
Citrus Bioflavonoids
(from natural citrus fruits) provide a rich source of antioxidants which research has shown to benefit the cardiovascular system, osteoarthritis and in the prevention of several other chronic diseases. in addition, research suggests that bioflavonoids may help increase intracellular levels of vitamin c, while protecting the vitamin c from oxidation.
Sea Buckthorn berries
are a fruit of significant nutritional value and are renowned from centuries of medicinal usage for skin, heart and liver health in both Europe and Asia. Sea Buckthorn is very rich in natural vitamin c, vitamin E, carotenoids, proteins and phytosterols, as well as being a potent source of antioxidants and essential fatty acids.
Rutin is a citrus bioflavonoid with studies suggesting benefits for the cardiovascular and circulatory systems.
Zinc is an important nutrient that helps to maintain a healthy immune function.
Combination Rationale:
Synergy C™ combines the benefits of 1,000mg of buffered mineral vitamin c with the enhanced bioavailability action of antioxidants and flavonoids. the pH neutral buffered mineral sources of vitamin c from calcium, magnesium, potassium and sodium ascorbates are combinations of ascorbic acid bonded with minerals to provide maximum absorption of vitamin c, while avoiding indigestion and protecting kidney health, which can be compromised when taking large doses of ascorbic acid alone.
Citrus bioflavonoids and rutin are powerful antioxidants which provide protection against the oxidative damage of free radicals. Some studies even suggest that bioflavonoids can help protect the antioxidant action of vitamin c. Bioflavonoids help increase intracellular levels of vitamin c and can also prolong the effectiveness of the vitamin c.
Sea Buckthorn berries contain naturally high levels of vitamin c. the health benefits of Sea Buckthorn berries can be found in the seed and pulp oil. CanPrev's Synergy C™ contains a complete whole pulp extract.
Zinc citrate has been added to complete this natural buffering activity, while supporting a strong immune function.

Chelated Zinc - Albion® Zinc Glycinate Chelate is a high quality chelated form of the essential mineral zinc.
Chelated minerals are minerals that have been chemically bound to another molecule (typically an amino acid) to form a complex. Chelation naturally occurs during digestion, after stomach acid and enzymes break down protein into amino acids. Amino acids bind to minerals, assisting their transport through the intestinal walls.
Unfortunately, the body is not efficient at producing chelated minerals.
So, Albion developed an exclusive technology that mimics the body’s natural chelation process, producing readily absorbable organic chelated minerals in supplement form. Glycine, an easily identified and efficiently absorbed amino acid, is the chelator (binding agent) most commonly used in Albion formulations.

This is a device that creates a PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field).
This is a moving magnetic field which causes 50-100 micro-amperes to be generated deep within tissues to neutralize the parasites, viruses, and pathogens that are latent in tissues and not circulating in the blood. The magnetic pulser is designed for specifically targeting lymph nodes, organs, and tumor sites, and should be used in conjunction with the Silver Pulser blood electrification device.
The SOTA Magnetic Pulser offers the benefits of a pulsed magnetic field to help balance the body’s natural electricity for health.
- Automatic Timer
- Bio-North Pole identified
- Fast and Slow Modes
- Output greater than 6,000 Gauss
- Magnetic Field penetrates up to 9 inches
- Two-year limited Warranty
The Magnetic Pulser generates pulsed magnetic fields which are known to create microcurrents.
For most applications, it is best to use the Bio North (-) polarity side of the Hand Paddle — the polarity is clearly marked on the Hand Paddle. The Bio North (-) polarity of the Hand Paddle can be applied to any area of the body. The Magnetic Pulser can be applied over clothing as the magnetic field penetrates clothing. Keep the Hand Paddle on one area or move to different locations during a session.
Basic Wellness Program:

This is a Microbe Electrifier Plus with the extra option of either allowing an AC blood electrification frequency (4, 10, or 40 Hz) or the selection of DC (direct current) output instead in order to have a good treatment method for localized infections (an infection in one part of the body). You should use the 3" square electrodes when using this feature. As an example DC works great on dental infections. People with root canals should treat them with DC to kill the residual bacteria left there which create the toxins which disable cancer immunity. [more info] It works good against things like gastritis, appendicitis, bladder infections, toenail fungus, and sore throats.
If you are interested in any of my Microbe Electrifiers then first you need to see my YouTube video (above) explaining why I think they are the best and worth every penny. Otherwise just go to the price list page (above). You need to understand that all the other blood electrifiers are made to have both electrodes on one wrist which is more comfortable but very ineffective, and what is the purpose of buying an electromedicine device but to have something effective? A full explanation of why this ineffective method is the most popular (is below). I want to help people get well and guiding them away from the ineffective devices and to BioElectric devices is how to do it. ...

(NOTE: Go to the above original online LINK to access the in-text ONLINE links)
Install batteries:
Remove the back cover using a small Phillips screwdriver.
Attach four 9 volt alkaline batteries to the battery clips.
Be sure not to pull on the battery wires since they are a small gauge wire and not made to be pulled on.
Click here to see correct battery placement.
--- LINK: http://www.dragonfly75.com/eng/batteries.html
Put the bubble wrap on top of them (to keep them from being able to move around) and screw on the lid.
To test for proper operation and strength of batteries:
Flip the power switch to the ON position and the frequency switch to 4 Hz.
Press the Test button down and look at the green test lights to see that they are
alternating on and off.
(At 10 Hz and 40 Hz the lights will mostly stay on).
If the four 9 volt batteries need replacement the Test lights will not light at all.
To replace the batteries just use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the cases bottom 4 screws, pull off the cover, and then pull off the snap clips from each battery so that they can be replaced with new alkaline ones. Reinstall the padding as it was so as to prevent the batteries from rattling when the box is jiggled.
Choosing electrode site:
Both electrodes on the inside of one wrist is the easiest site for convenient usage, but it affects the least amount of blood and the current has to be turned up to a painful level for enough to flow in the arteries since most of it will just cross over through the muscles. Beck proved that 3mA of current is necessary with this arrangement but no one except for nerve-damaged people can tolerate that high level. Using one electrode on one wrist and the second one on the other wrist is my favorite because plenty of blood is affected. This method causes people to worry about current affecting the heart but the current doesn't go thru it. [drawing] Using the electrodes on both ankles affects the most amount of blood, but will barely allow enough electrical current for some people (due to mineral deficiencies) and is hardest for initiating and maintaining correct electrode placement.
--- LINK: (offline) dragonfly/arterialsystem.png
Locating electrode placement sites for both wrists:
The locations are the inner side of the wrists about 1+1/2 inches below the wrist crease to the outside of the main tendon on the thumb side. Each wrist should have one electrode held in place by one wrist band.
(picture) (Offline: dragonfly/hands.jpg)
This is the most preferred electrode placement.
Locating electrode placement sites for ankles:
On the inner side of each foot locate the pulse of the unseen artery between the ankle and the heel.
If you can't feel it then go for a brisk walk for ten minutes and then feel for it without elevating your foot.
On top of these pulsating arteries are the sites.
(picture) (Offline: dragonfly/feet.jpg)
Connecting Electrodes:
Clean & dry the electrode sites. Soak each of the cloth electrodes thoroughly with tap water or saltwater.
Squeeze the middle of the insulation of the Microbe Electrifier's alligator clips (at the end of its wires) so that you open the jaws and then let them bite onto the electrodes ends with one jaw inside the electrode.
(picture) (Offline: dragonfly/caiman.jpg)
Place the electrode over the artery. Then put the elastic band around it and the wrist (or ankle).
Don't pull it tight. Just enough stretch to keep it in place is good.
If using electrodes on the ankles, then attach them there with 1" wide medical tape.
Re-wet the cloth electrode after 1 hour of use.
Making Saltwater:
Tap water (not distilled or de-ionized) is to be used to wet the cloth electrodes so that they'll be electrically conductive.
If you can turn the unit's current control fully clockwise and not get a zing from the electricity then it's probably because your tap water is deficient in minerals which makes it not very electrically conductive. To remedy that you can make some saltwater by putting a couple of shakes of salt from the saltshaker into a cup of water and stirring it. This is very electrically conductive but also corrosive to the alligator clips.
Using the device:
Clean your skin where you want to place the electrodes and then connect the wet electrodes to you.
Turn the current control dial fully counter-clockwise, set the unit to 10Hz, and flip the switch to the ON position.
Turn the current dial slowly clockwise until the red current light comes on fully.
Then switch the frequency switch to the frequency setting you want to use if it's not 10Hz.
The current light will indicate when you are getting at least .14mA (140uA) through your bloodstream.
If it won't light at maximum dial position then one of three conditions exist;
1) Your body's salt & mineral level is very low (read this), (Offline: dragonfly/salt.html)
2) Where you placed the electrodes is unsuitable,
3) You need to use saltwater on the electrodes instead of tap water.
If your body's salt level is low then start salting your food with sea salt (which doesn't cause high blood pressure).
If the electrodes 'sting' or 'bite' then
1) the current dial setting is too high,
2) your skin is dirty,
3) you need to relocate the electrodes.
Below is a video showing how to wet the electrodes, connect them to your wrists, and then how to turn up the current dial till the red light is fully on. (It is with the simple version of the Microbe Electrifier.)
--- LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch...
Current Level:
The target .14mA is right at the beginning of the effective range of electrical current which is shown by the active red light.
More current is likely to damage the skin. Never turn the current up high enough to cause a stinging sensation which indicates skin being damaged. If .14mA causes stinging then set it to a lower level that is safe for your skin. Think of the .14mA level not as something essential but as a reference point from which you can find the perfect setting for yourself.
Comfort Suggestions:
If the elastic strap is too tight it will leave ridges on the skin when taken off.
You can also sew something soft onto the inside of the band (if a natural fiber then not where the electrodes will be because natural fibers will wick away the electrodes moisture). If your skin becomes irritated where the electrodes touch then maybe you're applying too much current or you should place the electrodes on the ankles instead of the wrists.
AC/DC Option:
The AC/DC switch allows you to select either Alternating Current for blood electrification with the small wrist electrodes or Direct Current for localized infection treatment with the large electrodes.
Transfection, or, electroporation:
When doing 4 hertz blood electrification, why do I have to limit taking herbs and medicine to the time right after finishing device usage? Because during electric current application (at low frequencies) blood cells more readily absorb chemicals that are in the bloodstream. (~20x more.) So it would be necessary to give the body plenty of time (22-23 hours) to expel the medicinal chemicals by only taking them after each session. (otherwise use 40 Hz which doesn't allow much of this effect). This high-absorption effect on blood cells exists only while the electric current is applied and is called 'transfection' or 'electroporation'.

The concentrated oxygen is then pumped through a tube to a headset — worn either over the head or around the neck — where it gently exits an adjustable outlet near the mouth, allowing you to recline, lie supine, or sit in your favorite comfortable chair as you inhale.
It has easy-to-use pushbutton controls that allow you to enjoy 10- to 30-minute sessions, and its built-in speaker plays up to four different ethereal musical patterns to accompany inhalation.
After each session, it will automatically purge itself of excess water vapor and heat from the compressor before shutting itself down.

Articles on the Internet are transitory.
The publishers may remove them, change sites, change URLs, or change titles.
For the purpose of maintaining an availability of these articles for myself and you, I have reprinted parts in the relevant monographs with authorship maintained, coding simplified for error-free loading and minimal file size, and a LINK to the original document. Identity trackers and advertising bots have been removed from the original bloated and manipulative coding. NOTHING in writing is absolute; don't treat human opinion, projection, and observation as an Idol. Doing so can kill you, or worse, have you impose abuse on others.
I gathered and researched this data, mediated with the Grace of God through prayer as a benefit in my integrating discovered available digital information which would acquaint me with the overall content related to the health issues. I have found that God is ALWAYS available when we are Reverent in our Asking, open-minded in our Listening, and, Assertive in our Choice of Action. Doctors did not expect me to survive birth. In the past 25 years, medical and health "experts" have cautioned or directed me, more than 14 times, that I had little time left to live, or would die ... because THEY did not understand my challenges, were not motivated to professionally diagnose, or, chose to superstitiously recall as absolute previously flawed training. I am still alive beyond age 70. With the assistance of God, my Personality, the research and a lack of dismissiveness of a number of persons ... I have found resolution to numerous health challenges. This has enabled me to assist many others who had been abandoned, brainwashed, or traumatized. May my experience and successes also empower you. This is one document which you may find helpful as a BASIC introduction to maintaining and improving YOUR health.
