QUALITY of LIFE
Choice, Options, Change, Winning.
It is up to You, and, You can do it!
You will not find any theory or philosophy or excuses here.
Those are luxuries which will weaken you into despair and loss.
The information on this site and through the LINKS on this page and on the main INDEX page will provide you with REAL SOLUTIONS
which have personally enabled me to succeed time after time when
so-called experts told me such was impossible ... even when I thought it
was impossible.
I have been homeless.
I have been addicted.
I have been chronically ill.
I have been on social assistance.
I have been better off --- just like you are, were, or hope to be.
I have technical and university educational degrees.
I have been happily and unhappily married, several times.
I have been very proficient & professional in several careers.
I had a perfect credit record for over 25 years.
I have had a fully paid for 3-bedroom house.
I have managed more than one business.
NONE of these cultural icons of success helped me to survive!
And they are not helping an increasing number of the North American and
global economy populations. Why not? What can you do? You can find out
here.
THE REALITY YOU WILL FACE.
Despite an 8-year economic boom in the USA, personal
bankruptcy filings for the last 3 years (1997-2000) have hit record
highs. Researchers predict that by 2002, the USA will experience a 43%
increase to 2,000,000 personal bankruptcies a year.
Canadian rates are even higher.
It takes money to declare bankruptcy.
Millions of financially challenged persons are too poor to do so.
Most of the North American population believes in the cultural myth that
enough hard work, devotion to materialism, and/or government and social
protections will permit them to financially recover or to maintain a
modest standard of living. Inflation and fixed incomes together with
severe budget reductions in healthcare and social services parallel
increases in chronic illness ratios and increases in financial hardship.
THE HISTORICAL TRUTH.
The recorded rise and fall of all known human civilizations to date
demonstrates a cycle. A community "discovers" a way of improving their
standard of living and reducing the insecurities and fears associated
with environmental cycles. The "new orientation" becomes enshrined in a
cultural ethic and adopted as a religion and secular foundation. The
community prospers. Others are attracted to the community. Their
prosperity persuades them to assume the cultural myth. The population
grows faster and faster in size and density.
SIZE DEMANDS ORDER.
When more than about 30 people or 6 families join in a shared endeavour,
leadership becomes required in order to cope with individual
differences and wants and prevent hostilities, violence, and anarchy.
Self-appointed or group-selected individuals sacrifice personal
interests for the group in return for decision-making authority, power,
respect, prestige. Orderliness and material contentment yield population
growth, which, fuels continued economic successes and market expansion.
The populace concern themselves with their participation
in the economic myth and increasingly convey their power of choice to
authorities. Eventually, the sacrifice demanded of many authorities
together with a lack of personal contact with and appreciation and
feedback from individual citizens encourages a sense of being
taken-for-grantedness, routine, and an openness to denial (irreverence),
bureaucratic formality and legalism (irrelevancy), and public betrayal
of trust (bribes, lobbying, conspiracies, manipulation, preferential
transactions).
CULTURAL MELTDOWN.
As the "favored" society grows in size and power, it also grows in
dependency upon its cultural myths (assumed truths). In the past some of
these have been agriculture based on irrigation, commerce based on
monopoly, standard of living based on socialism, power based on
unquestioned authority, hunting based on unlimited territory, membership
according to racial characteristics. Each has failed when the basic
underlying economic assumption lost relevancy.
Sometimes, overuse of environmental resources has led to
a sudden and severe shortage. Sometimes, the arrival of another
population with greatly differing cultural myths deceives the
assumption-weakened more powerful civilization. Others have disappeared
after environmental catastrophes, most of which had been predicted.
Those who chose to ignore the signs and enjoy their wealth, or, deny the
reality of the injustices done to them, or, sink into passive unhealthy
dependency ... disappeared. Dramatic changes occurred in the space of
days, months, or a decade. In every case, the few who survived were
those who re-asserted their independence and self-sufficiency ... while
participating in the society until shortly before the collapse.
CURRENT WAVE CREST.
The peak before most economic crashes occurs when everything in the
society is being expressed in superlative extremes --- best, worst,
highest, lowest, greatest, fastest, richest, poorest. The peak before
every civilization crash occurs when the majority of the participants
are basing their decisions on unfounded and irrelevant assumptions to
the extent that everything in their lifestyle is totally dependent on
the certainty of uncertain realities. We are fast approaching this
point.
EXAMPLES to FAIL BY.
- Planning for health begins AFTER one becomes chronically ill.
- Credit enslavement is SELDOM acknowledged even when bankrupt.
- Economic myth failures are VICTIMIZED as weak & rejected.
- Legal and social injustices are HIDDEN in bureaucracy.
- Ruthless competition becomes rationalized NECESSARY.
- And MORE.
Doing your best to participate and belong isn't good enough.
WINNING: Your choice.
You will not win by denying government statistics that include you.
You will not win by assuming-expecting that services will rescue you.
You will not win by waiting for your ship to come in: It is sinking!
You will not win by blaming others or getting violent: Who cares!
To WIN, accept that there is a problem and you will NOT be part of it.
To WIN, know that only You can be motivated enough to find Your Solution
To WIN, start becoming more self-reliant & less dependent on others & things.
To WIN, take responsibility for your future by finding practical and
effective ways of improving and maintaining your health, your close
relationships, your economic basics, your spiritual awareness.
Government regulations, support systems and professionals will NOT protect you.
They haven't this far. In the final hours of super-competitive economic
desperation, everyone is only watching out for themselves. The
perception of orderliness is as much an illusion today as the
contentedness of a clean shower to the prisoners who entered the Nazi
gas chambers more than 50 years ago was.
It is your life, not theirs. Live it!
Get involved. Help yourself.
Encourage others who WANT solutions, not excuses.
I invite you to review FACTS which I have gathered and consider my personal findings and solutions gained through experience.
What you don't know could kill you, or, make you wish you were dead.
