WILD ROSE relates to the soul qualities of devotion and inner motivation.
Living life with interest and a positive expectancy through challenges, changes, and disappointments is often a result of being in a positive Wild Rose state. Such a person realizes that change is part of life and that one either contributes positive or destructive influence to those changes, or, allows others to control one's present and future by letting them make the decisions, take the risk and responsibility, and and set the standards and limits. They know that they will not always make the best decisions yet they would rather learn from the errors and take pleasure in the successes than avoid the disappointments and forgo the pleasures.
Resignation to an Ego (Personal values) destructive environment in which one receives little or no acknowledgement, no encouragement nor incentive for effort or involvement or sharing, and no evidence of their potential for influencing their own reality or that of others -- often generates a negative Wild Rose state. Such a person has progressed beyond need into self-denial. Not to feel or care or participate is not to be ignored, rejected, held back, or, criticised. If curiosity and attempts to join in only bring toxic shaming of one for the errors and insufficiencies which could not be avoided or prevented -- calm appears to arrive only with the inactivity and projective failure of apathy and boredom.
Long periods of disappointment may arise from a complex and tenacious chronic illness in which great efforts are persistently made until one nears exhaustion. Especially if the individual only receives feedback from friends, relatives, associates and sanctioned experts that their case cannot be understood, resolved, or corrected -- one may come to believe the proclamations of gloom and hopelessness. Strong enough to forge on alone, they may come to discard hope when the pain of continual disappointment seems to have stretched far beyond the practical and reasonable. Negative Wild Rose is then quick to follow.
An extended period of personal failure can develop when an individual wants to try and possibly learn new activities and skills, yet is withheld from doing so. An overprotective parent may "privilege" their child by doing everything for them and not allowing them to learn through the joy and disappointment of risk and the gradual improvement of skill which comes from practice and failure adjustment. Never taking credit for a failure equals never having the opportunity to take credit for a success. Never learning to look after oneself equals always having to be looked after by someone else according to THEIR standards and desires.
If one cannot bring joy into one's own life, one often has little joy to share with others. In a negative Wild Rose state one has little interest in working for attention and acknowledgement, earning respect and trust, or having sympathy or empathy for others. To have one's life resigned to the direction imposed by someone else, or, choosing one's own direction with the knowledge that it will never be allowed --- can submerge one's Ego and deny one's emotions until nothing is left but the shell of an Identity -- a negative Wild Rose state.
Devotion must be earned and its value carefully evaluated if one is to benefit from the positive potential of the Wild Rose state. Devotion cannot be demanded, coerced, or imposed. Devotion cannot be taken, only given. Devotion is an exchange of reverence and dependency for sincere caring and acknowledged heightened skills of wisdom and power. That one has life is an indication of the high value which one should place on one's devotion. Devotion to God may best be given in acknowledgement of the continual availability of Spiritual Guidance to each of us for personal and wider benefits. We are never abandoned, discouraged, nor demeaned. We continually have CHOICE to take part in our unfolding life and to persist in its improvement.
Encouraging a Positive Wild Rose attitude in a materialistic and super-rational society IS possible when parents, mentors, teachers, doctors, scientists, politicians -- and many other significant persons in our lives -- openly and humbly acknowledge their imperfectness, ability and readiness to always learn more than they already know, relevacy of experience, and singular and supreme wisdom of God. Asserting themselves, enabling constructive criticism, acknowledging and respecting others, and assisting others to become more self-sufficient and confident are also ways of encouraging positive Wild Rose environments.
These positive attitudes and behaviors are also available to us as individuals. Giving up on ourselves is giving up on the God who created us and on the humanity around us.
