GORSE relates to the Soul quality of Hope.

Acknowledging one's Higher Self as the controller of one's destiny indicates that one is in the Positive Gorse state. One's identity perspectives have reached a harmonious awareness that what God wants for each of us is what can be best for each of our identity perspectives --- given our Basic Personality and our resources. To acquire this best of futures, one's identity perspectives have realized that only Spiritual Guidance, received by way of their Higher Self can assure them of the benefits of knowing and doing their Mission.

New strength and hope come from deep inside for the person in a Positive Gorse when facing challenges and disappointments and setbacks. They realize that others also have choice and they may not equally know of, have access to, or elect to follow Spiritual Guidance by way of their Higher Selves. Of course this will lead to errors on the part of others and these must impact the efforts of those who do elect to follow Spiritual Guidance. Knowing that God takes the actions of others into account constantly means that the Spiritual Guidance received following such departures by others will yet again be the best for one in line with the new options. New opportunities will be revealed and amending actions may be available.

Hope is ever near for the person in the Positive Gorse state. All known and available options may have been tried and everything that can be understood may have been integrated in an unscuccessful effort to find a solution. Yet, the person in the Positive Gorse state acknowledges that IF a personally beneficial and pleasant solution can be found, Spiritual Guidance will show them the Way. Still, in consideration of the wider universe, they can also acknowledge, in the context of spiritual harmony, that sometimes a personal setback or failure can contribute to the benefit of many others. The search for an understanding of this wider meaning can bring peace to the afflicted and lessen the harm being inflicted upon them.

Looking for answers and direction beyond oneself and beyond one's surrounding culture and species demands a humility from oneself and a reverence for some form of intelligent and ordering Force in the universe. The intelligent and Positive Gorse person recognizes that for so many organisms to exist with the harmony of such intricate and interacting orders of cells and elements there must also exist a form of Creative entity which respects and replicates that which it is. As anarchy could only yield anarchy, orderliness is likely to have yielded orderliness.

Encouragement to develop a Positive Gorse state is likely only to occur when other positive Gorse individuals are significant influences in one's life and when one's personal experiences push one, out of a sense of inadequacy, to seek answers and sources of information beyond those commonly available. The degree of spiritual awareness and skills together with the emotional maturity and assertiveness of one's parents and mentors provides either positive or negative influence for a child to develop a positive Gorse ability.

There are many dynamics in any commercial or highly political environment which encourage one to assume a negative Gorse attitude. Both authoritarian and New age beliefs encourage the individual to expect miracles from the intervention of sanctioned experts. These human gods retain their illusion of power and perfection by publicizing their successes and shaming into silence those who typify their failures. Unless one personally becomes aware of the distortion between the mythic reality and the true reality, one has little discernment of personal choice beyond imposed authority.

When one shares the experiences of a group which represents the failures of the sanctioned authorities, one may react by dispelling allegiance to or acceptance of any authority beyond oneself. Distrustful of all, uncertain of any form of stability, unaware of one's true options, and angered by abuses of abandonment and imposition brought to them in the past in the name of good -- constant anxiety and fear can result in generating chronic illnesses. Unable to balance fear and confidence, anxiety and action, rejection and conviction -- the excessive constant inner tension constricts normal organ interactions to result in organ conflicts, exhaustion, and apathy.

Sharing the experiences of a group which has not received advantage through subservience to sanctioned experts or authoritarian institutions can also be coped with by an integration of currently known authorities with others yet to be explored. In health, this may mean an expansion of one's awareness from the field of conventional medicine to include alternative therapies to holistic health approaches to spiritually focused approaches. One may retain a negative Gorse perception and simply transfer one's allegiance from one to another, or, integrate parts or the whole of one with parts or the whole of one or more other elements.

Worship of human-centered authority is a dangerous mental attitude held by persons in a negative Gorse state. Patients may believe doctors who tell them that their health condition cannot be remedied because the doctor does not know the solution. Lawyers may be expected to represent their clients with integrity when it is often the case that a less influential lawyer will use caution with a powerful competitor for to upset such an adversary this time may mean their disgrace in the next trial they participate in. A parent may discipline a child, self-righteously, when told truthfully that their teacher, priest, or babysitter has sexually molested them.

Many injustices and abuse arise from persons in the negative Gorse state. Convinced from their experience at the hands of incompetent professionals and proud, ego-centered parents and mentors -- a person in the negative Gorse state may come to believe that their problem is hopeless even though their consultant continues to encourage them onwards into more tests, trials, and predicaments. As proud and pious persons accuse them of insincerity and psychoses for telling them the truth about the failure of the advice of the authority, the negative Gorse person increasingly is encouraged to withdraw from life and self-responsibility.
