CENTAURY relates to the principle of self-determination and self-realization.

A person who has developed their own Basic Personality and recognizes what they can contribute and to what degree they can be a positive influence are examples of Positive Centaury. By managing their Basic Personality through the Spiritual Guidance they request through their Higher Self, these individuals deliberately offer their services where they can be of the most good. They integrate well into most groups by assertively defining the degree to which they can contribute and the type of contribution they can make.

A productive involvement through an awareness of the opportunity in the present, the resources which one has, responsibilities which one has already undertaken, and the nature of one's Mission --- enable a person in the Positive Centaury state to more easily pace their involvements and preserve their strength. Through feedback and sincerity, this person can determine if, when, and how their involvement in a current project will contribute to the realization of their longer-term motivations and Mission.

Assuming the Missions of others is a destructive projection of the negative expression of Centaury. Applying one's energies where they are neither wanted, adequate, or relevant --- can only lead to disaster and waste. Such projection is often the result of an immature and overactive SuperEgo which sympathizes with the missions and desires of others and chooses to become supporters of causes and issues under the banner of other personalities.

When one becomes subservient to the stronger will of another person, this negative Centaury state indicates that we are unsure of our Mission and do not have adequate contact with Spiritual Guidance or awareness of or trust in our Higher Self. Seeking acknowledgement through assistance to others who are needy, we tend to devote ourselves to that person or institution when in the negative Centaury state. Taking in the enthusiasm and focus of another person can result in a denial of our own Mission and Personal Spirit. This distortion and imbalance may enable us to assume the negatives and weaknesses of the other person as we mirror their Basic Personality and Personal Spirit.

Rushing to assist others often weakens both ourselves and those we seek to help and is an indicator of negative Centaury. First, we may be failing to use our energies and skills in support of our own Mission. Secondly, we may be preventing the other person from gaining the awareness and skills they will require to continue their efforts in a productive manner required for their success. Co-dependent upon us, they may be found to become frustrated, demanding, and depressed when we are too tired to assist them or too sick to continue independently.

Knowing one's limits and one's boundaries, the person in the positive Centaury state will assess the benefit of their involvement and assertively take the rest they require and not assume the emotional attachment which the founder holds to the issue being promoted. Sensitive through empathy and compassion, the positive Centaury person must guard against becoming spiritually and emotionally drained by the person they respect and seek acceptance and acknowledgement from.

Through accurate access to Spiritual Guidance and a request for and the choice to follow and integrate such feedback, the person in the positive Centaury state remains focused in the effective and efficient use of their energies for benefit to themselves and others.
