#03, BEECH Remedy, Spiritual Positive,
Sympathy and Tolerance

PREFACE
This page is an example of how one can take the original description of the spiritual Principle addressed by the specified Bach Flower Remedy noted in the reference, at the bottom of this page, and reframe it into a learning tool to assist you to build a new coping skill --- a constructive attitude and behavior pattern.

The description in the book is BEST for a person who has the energy block or is going through a session to release that block. The description by Scheffer is largely of what a destructive attitude and pattern of the spiritual Principle would be like if one had this particular type of energy block. That description enables awareness to increase and allows the Reptilian Structure to more inclusively bring together the components of the block concerned, when indicated, so that it can be released.

AFTER the energy block is gone, one May still find it helpful to counter the still present IMPRINTING that has also been imposed on the Identity by the person's environment. This is NOT always the case. Only about 37% of my clients would benefit from this. Only 11% (usually the more intense) NEED this benefit to make their improvement assured and hopeful against an environment that encourages the negative Principle.

BEECH relates to the soul qualities of Sympathy and Tolerance.

Obtaining a sensitivity to others whom they cannot understand through their own experience, by looking to one's Higher Self to obtain the Spiritual Guidance needed to provide that awareness is an example of being in the Positive Beech state. An ability to feel connected with almost any other person of the same or different background brings a joy and cheerfulness to the person who wants to give love and receive love. They can sincerely extend themselves into new realities by integrating feedback from Spiritual Guidance with their own experiences and using the talents of their Basic Personality to become aware of what is of positive relevance for others.

Just as each of us is but one member of our species, we are not responsible for the tragedies and triumphs of the species, yet, we ARE responsible for our part in what we can do to influence the direction, presence, and extent of those tragedies and triumphs. Before we criticise the deficiencies and weaknesses of others we should be careful to acknowledge our own and to also acknowledge how our resources (health, heritage, education, parenting, friendships, associates, finances, capabilities, political system, social era, Basic Personality, energy blocks, imprinting, relatives) have differed from theirs. These differences are elemental to the environment of freedom, equality, justice, and choice within which and from which choice is made.

Negative Beech states are encouraged by one growing up in, or being harshly exposed to --- the hatred, rejection, humiliation, disappointment, and criticism of a larger, more dominant, more powerful, and elitist social presence. They may have found themselves in a victimized religious group, the avoided economic minority of poverty, a restricted role model by gender, a segregated presence by health, a victimized individual by lies and gossip, a distanced person by exaggerated skill of intelligence, influence, or ignorance. Whenever individuals and groups believe that they have been unfairly accused, condemned, discriminated against, penalized, taken for granted, or withheld recognition --- an internal NEED, through energy block and/or imprinting is built with an attitude of IMPOSING on others what has been imposed on oneself.

Rebels are negative Beech types.
Unlike reactionaries who seek change from the injustice of inequality, the rebel seeks to share in the privileges already experienced by others. The fact that those privileges may be based upon injustices, intolerance, pride and elitism -- is never considered. Like the immature 2-year-old who sees another have quantities of candies which will be unhealthful and demands to have as many, the reality that such quantities are not an overall benefit for the privileged is never addressed. Destructive practices may be extended to many because self-directedness and self-awareness are absent. One's values are assumed from the irrelevant extremes of others rather than the sharing of relevant personal options.

Reactionaries are positive Beech types.
Recognizing that others, including themselves, have been victimized or unjustly treated -- they seek to determine why this pattern has developed and who benefits from it continuing. With the benefit determined, the positive Beech type can then understand the unconscious fear of the privileged group who do not want to lose their benefits. At the same time, they can extend the sympathy they hold for those from whom benefits have been withheld and integrate them with a sympathy for those who receive privilege. An understanding develops that only when the dominant group reaches an appreciation of and for the denied group will that respect change an US-THEM dynamic into a WE-US interaction.

Intense authoritarian interactions encourage the development of negative Beech states. Aggressive, egotistical, dominant, arrogant, powerful, sanctioned persons demean those they exert control over. By assuming responsibility for others, without election or request, they impose their standards and inclinations on those they intend to help --- with an unconscious expectation that their charges will later love and thank them for their participation. Frequently this position is taken as an extension of one accepting and adopting the standards which an authority has imposed on them earlier. Believing they have EARNED this authority through their painful subservience to it, there is now no acknowledgement of the rights of others -- just as there was none for their own earlier.

One may be encouraged to develop and maintain a Positive Beech perspective by having an exposure to a number of different cultures, religions, political structures, economic systems, peer groups, and academic subjects. This can also extend to both one's own gender groups as well as the opposite but in ALL situations one's involvement must be sincere. Openness and honesty of communication are required if one is to become aware enough of the other reality in order to be able to ask the questions whose answers can convey understanding and respect.

This egalitarian morality accepts that there are standards which are Personal, Social, and External -- and these may differ from each other. External standards are those adopted by other people for their personal lives and which, because they are personal only, neither conflict with one's own Personal standards nor constructive Social standards. What you choose to do in your own room is your freedom to do. How your family choose to interact amongst themselves, is their freedom. The freedom of the individual and of any grouping becomes restrained only when respect is withheld from others through an imposition on their rights as persons.

Dependent and inter-dependent relationships test the boundaries of the Beech state. As infants, we have little awareness, self-control, self-direction, ability to be self-sustaining, or active in material choices. It is easy for a negative Beech state to develop within parents who take responsibility for infants yet choose, or must by circumstance choose, to spend a minimum of emotional time in carrying out that responsibility. Doing, doing, doing, followed by abandonment to work or other activities, does not enable the parent to listen with quality to the infant.

The almost totally non-verbal communication available from the infant is lost and it is experienced as a THING with the projected emotions of the parent. The infant is seldom acknowledged and often misunderstood. This is worsened by the child later being corrected and told by the parent what it SHOULD feel and think and what it does not because those feelings and attitudes do not match the projections of the parent. More time spent with the infant and child without the demands of perfectionist distractions (cleaning, cooking, socializing, etc.) or the necessity of extended away-from-home work hours (single-parent families, too high a standard of living, chronic illnesses, excessive volunteering) may afford the parent greater sensitivity to the needs of the infant/child and an opportunity for their acknowledgement and encouragement.

Inter-dependent relationships develop when individuals gain a degree of self-sufficiency and elect to perform specific responsibilities for another person who elects to do the same in return. The degree of requirement and expectation may vary over time according to the personalized choice of each. To the extent that each is truly self-sufficient there is less likelihood of either person being compromised by fear, insecurity, dependency, or coercion to be subservient to the other -- a negative Beech state. Positive Beech states remain when each person takes the time and makes the effort to demonstrate respect and appreciation for the individuality of the other.

GUIDELINE
If you wish to create your own reframed version of a Bach Remedy spiritual PRINCIPLE description to use for your chosen positive imprinting through repetitive exposure, consider the following.

  • Negative expressions of spiritual states are extremes, not good or bad according to some authoritarian personal election. The positive expression is seldom the opposite of the negative extreme. Look for the difference in context and the improvement in relevancy as an indicator of good choices of words.

  • Personalize your description with words like "I", "She", "My", and others.
