To date the EPA has approved over 80,000 synthetic chemicals that continue to be released into the environment. We are told that these toxins are at "acceptable" levels but common sense tells us otherwise. ...
A study released this summer by the Environmental Work Group (EWG) tested umbilical cord blood of infants born in the U.S. and found an average of 200 industrial chemicals and pollutants. In total, tests identified 287 chemicals of which 180 cause cancer, 217 are toxic to the brain and nervous system and 208 are linked to birth defects or abnormal development.

Fortunately, no one jumped to the conclusion that this proved oxygen is hazardous to one's health and that henceforth everyone must learn to live without any oxygen. "Money in the Bank" is a new, quite practical method of measuring research results being used in the poultry industry and is also of special interest to anyone with a background in banking. It seems to speak louder than all the papers published in the scientific literature. In days gone by, when chickens were kept outdoors, a laying hen was profitably productive for five years. Now, under the new "improved" indoor mechanized methods in poorly lighted windowless buildings, the hens only last for 13 months and then must be replaced at a cost of $125,000 per standard 50,000-bird house. However, when the latest type of radiation-shielded, full spectrum fixtures (now known as the “Ott-Lite”) was installed, the hens remained at peak production for 3 years. ...
However, ... on an annual basis, the birds ate $19,700 less feed per 50,000 bird house; laid 8.5% more eggs, or $39,800 more in total sales; cracked 2% fewer eggs, saving $20,000; while laying larger eggs worth an additional $7,800. Add to this that the birds did not have to be debeaked, because there was no cannibalism, saving another $4,000 in labor, thereby making a grand total of $91,300 more profit to the farmer (in addition to the $125,000 savings in replacement costs). Another advantage with potentially far reaching implications is that the eggs produced under the radiation shielded, full spectrum fluorescent fixtures contained 22% less cholesterol. ...
Ultraviolet light is one of the best producers of negative ions, and Albright further advises that where the radiation-shielded, full-spectrum (with a little added ultraviolet) Ott-Lite have been installed, the ion balance equals out at about 450 positive and 450 negative, which is considered ideal. People who had been working with VDTs in the areas where the new lighting has been installed and who had been complaining about all the health problems: eye strain, headache, fatigue, as well as more serious things associated particularly with VDTs, now say all their problems seem to have vanished into thin air. Preliminary figures do show definite substantial increases in work production and less absenteeism. Sounds too good to be true, but time will tell.

University of Arizona microbiologists measured bacteria in the offices in a number of U.S. cities. They found that "the five most contaminated spots were (in order) phones, desktops, water fountain handles, microwave door handles, and keyboards," says the Globe and Mail newspaper. According to the report, "the average desktop is home to 100 times more bacteria than a kitchen table and 400 times more than the average toilet seat."

Fluoride Accumulates in the Pineal Gland.
Fluoride, added to the water supply of many cities and counties and sold by WalMart in its nursery water, has a tendency to accumulate not only in developing teeth causing discoloration, and in bones making them brittle. The mineral is associated with cancer and it also accumulates in the pineal gland, an important hormone control center, where it wreaks considerable havoc. Paul Connett, of Fluoride Action Network comments on Jennifer Luke's research which was part of her (1998) PhD thesis and had just been published (2007) in Caries Research under the title: Fluoride Deposition in the Aged Human Pineal Gland.
Fluoride is a poison, yet we add it to our water and toothpaste and even call it a supplement, although it has no nutritional value. Its medicinal value -- the prevention of tooth decay -- is the official explanation for adding the toxic mineral to the water supply. But that value is far outweighed by its toxic side effects.
We also use fluoride in many household items, such as non-stick frying pans, high-tech water repellent fabrics and others. ..
The use of fluoride for "health" reasons is one of the great insanities of our times. Could it be just by chance that the Germans and Russians both used fluoride to make prisoners stupid and docile or that the US government faced legal action over the toxic effects in the environment of this nuclear waste by-product? ...
When (Jennifer) Luke found out that the pineal gland -- a little gland in the center of the brain, responsible for a very large range of regulating activities (it produces serotonin and melatonin) --was also a calcifying tissue, like the teeth and bones, she hypothesized it would concentrate fluoride to very high levels. The gland is not protected by the blood brain barrier and has a very high perfusion rate of blood, second only to the kidney.
Luke had 11 cadavers analyzed in the UK. As she predicted she found astronomically high levels of fluoride in the calcium hydroxy apatite crystals produced by the gland. The average was 9000 ppm and went as high as 21,000 in one case. These levels are at, or higher, than fluoride levels of people suffering from skeletal fluorosis.
Luke hypothesizes that one of the four enzymes needed to convert the amino acid tryptophan (from the diet) into melatonin is being inhibited by fluoride. It could be one of the two enzymes which covert tryptophan to serotonin or one of two which convert serotonin to melatonin.
Significance? Huge.
Melatonin is responsible for regulating all kinds of activities and there is a vast amount of work investigating its possible roles in aging, cancer and many other life processes. The one activity that Luke is particularly interested in is the onset of puberty. In her gerbil study she found that the high fluoride treated animals were reaching puberty earlier than the low fluoride ones.

High homocysteine levels may be the most neglected risk factor and possibly one of the most significant, along with smoking, dyslipidemia, hypertension and obesity. In addition to cardiovascular disease, high homocysteine levels have been associated with many other conditions ranging from placental abruption, neural tube defect, and complications of diabetes to alcoholism and neuropsychiatric disorders.
Homocysteine is a by-product of the normal breakdown of the essential amino acid methionine. It becomes a toxic molecule at higher than normal levels and promotes atherosclerosis. As homocysteine enters the blood stream, it promotes oxidation of lipids and causes blood platelets to stick together. This enhances the binding of lipoprotein to fibrin which promotes more free radical damage to the arteries. There are two major bio- chemical pathways used by the body to reduce homocysteine. Elevation of homocysteine can occur by a deficiency or a defective gene, however the suggested treatment is a combination of nutritional elements such as folic acid, B-6, B-12,and Trimethylglycine (TMG).
In the Tuft’s University study it was shown that increased dietary intake of vitamins B-6, B-12, and folic acid clears homocysteine from the circulation. .. USSR Banned Microwaves over Killing Effect.
Two researchers, Blanc and Hertel, confirmed that microwave cooking significantly changes food nutrients. Hertel previously worked as a food scientist for several years with one of the major Swiss food companies. He was fired from his job for questioning procedures in processing food because they denatured it. He got together with Blanc of the Swiss Federal Institute of Biochemistry and the University Institute for Biochemistry.
They studied the effect that microwaved food had on eight individuals, by taking blood samples immediately after eating. They found that after eating microwaved food, haemoglobin levels decreased. "These results show anaemic tendencies. The situation became even more pronounced during the second month of the study". ...
The violent change that microwaving causes to the food molecules forms new life forms called radiolytic compounds. These are mutations that are unknown in the natural world. Ordinary cooking also causes the formation of some radiolytic compounds (which is no doubt one reason why it is better to eat plenty of raw food), but microwaving cooking causes a much greater number. This then causes deterioration in your blood and immune system.
In addition, they found that the number of leucocytes increases after eating microwaved food - something which haematologists take very seriously, because this is often a sign of highly harmful effects, such as poisoning.
Also, after eating microwaved food, cholesterol levels increased.
Hertel said "Common scientific belief states that cholesterol values usually alter slowly over longer periods of time. In this study, the markers increased rapidly after the consumption of the microwaved vegetables." He believes his study tends to confirm new scientific data that suggest cholesterol may rapidly increase in the blood secondary to acute stress "Also," he added, "blood cholesterol levels are less influenced by cholesterol content of food than by stress factors. Such stress-causing factors can apparently consist of foods which contain virtually no cholesterol - the microwaved vegetables."
The results were published in "Search for Health" in the Spring of 1992.
How was this research greeted? A powerful trade organization, the Swiss Association of Dealers for Electroapparatuses for Households and Industry somehow made the President of the Court of Seftigen issue a `gag order'.
Hertel and Blanc were told that if they published their findings they would face hefty fines or up to one year in prison. In response to this, Blanc recanted his findings. Hertel, on the other hand, went on a lecture tour and demanded a jury trial.
Russians ban microwave ovens
After the World War II, the Russians also experimented with microwave ovens. From 1957 up to recently, their research has been carried out mainly at the Institute of Radio Technology at Klinsk, Byelorussia. According to US researcher William Kopp, who gathered much of the results of Russian and German research - and was apparently prosecuted for doing so, the following effects were observed by Russian forensic teams:
- Heating prepared meats in a microwave sufficiently for human consumption created:
- d-Nitrosodiethanolamine (a well-known cancer-causing agent)
- Destabilization of active protein biomolecular compounds
- Creation of a binding effect to radioactivity in the atmosphere
- Creation of cancer-causing agents within protein-hydrosylate compounds in milk and cereal grains;
- Microwave emissions also caused alteration in the catabolic (breakdown) behavior of glucoside - and galactoside - elements within frozen fruits when thawed in this way;
- Microwaves altered catabolic behavior of plant-alkaloids when raw, cooked or frozen vegetables were exposed for even very short periods;
- Cancer-causing free radicals were formed within certain trace-mineral molecular formations in plant substances, especially in raw root vegetables;
- Ingestion of micro-waved foods caused a higher percentage of cancerous cells in blood;
- Due to chemical alterations within food substances, malfunctions occurred in the lymphatic system, causing degeneration of the immune system=s capacity to protect itself against cancerous growth;
- The unstable catabolism of micro-waved foods altered their elemental food substances, leading to disorders in the digestive system;
- Those ingesting micro-waved foods showed a statistically higher incidence of stomach and intestinal cancers, plus a general degeneration of peripheral cellular tissues with a gradual breakdown of digestive and excretory system function;
- Microwave exposure caused significant decreases in the nutritional value of all foods studied, particularly:
As a result microwave ovens were banned in Russia in 1976; the ban was lifted after Perestroika.

Parkinson's Disease & Pesticides. (Dopamine)

.. The symptoms of Parkinson's disease appear when 60 to 80% of the brain cells that produce dopamine have died. Dopamine is necessary for muscle control. The symptoms of Parkinson's include "resting tremor, rigidity, slow movement, postural instability and progressively involuntary writhing movements, paralysis and an inability to talk or swallow." Most cases of Parkinson's are believed to result from chemical exposure or an interaction between genetic susceptibility and environmental factors. Only 10% are truly genetic.
Several studies indicate a link between pesticide exposure and Parkinson's.
Researchers have found that people who live in farming areas and have been exposed to pesticides (directly and/or through well water) are more likely to get Parkinson's. In 2000, researchers at Stanford University interviewed 1038 people about their lifestyle habits and exposure to insecticides, herbicides, or fungicides. Nearly half of the group (496 people) had Parkinson's.
Their results showed that "individuals who were exposed to pesticides in the home or garden were 70% more likely to develop Parkinson's than those who were not exposed," according to the PANNA article. Also, the brains of those who die of Parkinson's have higher levels of organochlorine pesticides than those who do not have the disease.

.. Chemical weapon agents, made for chemical warfare, are often produced at insecticide factories. Why? Because they're nearly identical chemically. Only the concentration differs, depending on whether the intended target to kill is insects or humans. So when you hear war stories that mention 'nerve gas,' remember that pesticides are nerve gas, capable of causing neurological diseases such as Parkinson's.

High fructose corn syrup used in soda pop .. toxic.

New research shows that the high fructose corn syrup used in soda pop is not only a lot of sugar, IT IS TOXIC TO HUMAN HEALTH. It took brain-dead public officials two decades to figure out trans fats were really as bad as was obvious. How long will it take this time?
Unlike fruit sugar (fructose), refined sugar (glucose), or milk sugar (lactose), high fructose corn syrup sets off a highly damaging group pf molecules called reactive carbonyls. Not only do these compounds damage healthy cells, they are invariably elevated in people with diabetes. Reactive carbonyls drastically speed the aging process and the decay of cognitive function. Is the FDA anywhere to be found when they are needed?

In 1999, Consumer Reports published results from a U.S. Department of Agriculture survey on pesticide residues on produce. Here are some highlights:
- Many people believe imported fruits and vegetables contain the most residues, but 11 of the 12 worst offenders were actually domestic, including apples, peaches, winter squash, grapes, spinach, pears and green beans.
- Some winter squash samples contained residues of an extremely toxic carcinogen that was banned 25 years ago -- Dieldrin. It still remains in the soil today!
- On average, an apple contains 4 pesticides, but some have as many as 10. Want more? One spinach sample contained 14 different pesticides!
Here's some more alarming news:
According to a report authored by the Pesticide Action Network, entitled
"Hooked on Poison: Pesticide Use in California 1991-1998" (released May 2000):
- Use of cancer-causing pesticides more than doubled in the 8 years studied -- an increase of 127%
between 1991-1998.
- Since 1996, use of carcinogenic pesticides in California have remained within the highest levels ever reported.
- More than 1.5 billion pounds of pesticides were applied in California between 1991-1998. The usage pattern of these pesticides shows no trend towards decreasing.

Do you think you eat a healthy diet? Consider this:
15 to 20 percent of calories the average person eats every day come from food sweeteners.
Now, medical researchers want to know whether one sweetener might be contributing to the obesity epidemic. If you're a food label reader, you've probably noticed the ingredient "high fructose corn syrup" on many foods. It was invented in the 1960's. Since 1980, it's been the only sweetener in soft drinks. Some scientists say its increased use is almost identical to the increase in obesity in this country in the last 40 years.
Pick up a package of cookies, a bottle of salad dressing, or a can of Campbell's tomato soup.
If it doesn't contain an artificial sweetener, chances are it contains high fructose corn syrup. This ingredient accounts for more than 40% of the caloric sweeteners added to the foods we eat and drink. From bread to yogurt, our consumption has gone up dramatically in the past 30 years. "It's gone up to about 75 pounds a year of high fructose corn syrup," said Dr. Samuel Klein, director of Washington University School of Medicine's Center for Human Nutrition.
What IS it exactly?
Corn kernels are processed and turned to liquid or crystals, and their molecular structure changed. Dr. Klein says high fructose corn syrup can contain anywhere from 50 to 90 percent fructose with the remainder being glucose. By comparison, table sugar is about 50 percent fructose and 50 percent glucose. But there's a general agreement that high fructose corn syrup is at least one and a quarter times sweeter than sugar.
There are few scientific studies.
None prove high fructose corn syrup can be blamed for the obesity epidemic.
Even a 2004 published report in the Journal of Clinical Nutrition -- which looked at the connection -- said more research is needed. But the report does say "there is a distinct likelihood that the increased consumption of high fructose corn syrup in beverages may be linked to the increase in obesity."
Dr. Klein takes the biology even further.
"Fructose goes directly to the liver after you eat it and it stimulates the production of fat in the liver and can cause fatty liver, it can lead to fatty liver. Fatty liver we now know is a major problem associated with obesity. "
"I'd never heard of fatty liver disease," said Maggie Rodgers.
But Rodgers' liver became so scarred from non-alcoholic cirrhosis - related to her obesity that she needed a liver transplant in 2004. That type of cirrhosis -- called nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) -- is now the MOST common liver disease in the country, with 5 percent of people affected, the majority of them obese. Rodgers still can't believe her liver was damaged because of her diet.
"I find myself wanting to tell people all the time about it so they'll be aware it can happen to them and they should watch what they're doing while they're early on," said Rodgers.

To keep weed out a toxic herbicide called ATROPINE is heavily sprayed in the fields and is absorbed into the corn.
ATRAZINE has been the topic of intense controversy because it mimics estrogen in the body. Estrogen fuels cancer growth. Knowing this, why are chemical companies allowed to sell this poison to farmers? Chemical companies have powerful lobbyists who persuade our lawmakers to keep many legal poisons on the market, protecting their profits. "My triglycerides were 1600.

"The Toxic Ping Pong Effect"
