  GOLD CROWNS.

Hidden Hazard: Yellow Light.

A GOOD ACCIDENT!
Near mid-March, I found a piece of "stone" in my mouth amongst my food, that looked like a piece of amalgam. It became quickly apparent that a temporary composite filling which I had placed in a lower front corner tooth had fallen out. It had left a large hole with a brown-gray mark in the bottom.

A temporary repair seemed in order.
I made an appointment with a local dentist I had become familiar with through the requirements of an associate. I went to him with the intention of only having the broken bicuspid repaired with a temporary filling until a hoped for near future increase in finances would permit something longer-term.

The diagnosis was a shock.
What remained was a tooth which had a deep well and the making of 3 cracks around the edges. If something permanent was not done, there was a good likelihood that the remaining tooth would break, and require extraction. It was one of my key remaining grinding and chewing teeth so its loss would be dramatic.

I needed the weekend to make a decision, dramatic for me, because it would include arranging for the money required and confirming that a permanent solution NOW was beneficial for all concerned. Before leaving, the dentist also casually mentioned that I should have my two gold crowns "reconditioned" at some point. Reflection over the weekend, and recoding the mercury amalgam pages in this section brought a question to mind that seemed bizarre.

SYMPTOMS: November 2003 to March, 2004

    • stepped muscle energy drop by 65%;
    • my Guided supplement level continued to increase;
    • unsubstantiated increase to near constant state of fatigue;
    • periodic vertigo with periods of light to heavy dizziness;
    • my vision blurred periodically with forehead tightness;
    • my torso muscles began to ache when I was tired;
    • my libido dropped to near nothing.

I was able to do computer work and some counseling but only for longer periods during the 11:00 PM to 8:00 or 9:00 AM hours, during which time I drank or ate almost nothing. Even though it is my nature to go walking and enjoy the outdoors, all of that was out of reach by mid-December. This cycle had happened before! It had happened during the final stages of mercury toxicity raising to near fatal levels. Symptoms of mercury toxicity are least apparent the longer the time is since you have had a nutritious meal high in vitamins and minerals and low in sugars.

UNBELIEVABLE!
I arranged to go ahead with the dental work.
It was major because it would involve adding a porcelain crown over the bicuspid, bridging a lost tooth space with a false second bicuspid, and replacing a gold crown on a molar with another porcelain crown. In my fogged mercury toxicity state, I did not comprehend most of this until I returned to the dentist. I was thinking of a crown on the tooth needing the repair and some sort of bridge hooked onto the gold crown.

I had received my two gold crowns on molars on opposite sides of my mouth when I was in my teens, likely in the 1960's, some 40 years previous. I had always been told by dentists and read in dental journals and in other literature that a gold crown could last forever: no maintenance. If I had ANOTHER case of severe mercury amalgam poisoning, yet all of the mercury amalgams had been removed -- where was the mercury coming from?!

And what did it mean to have a gold crown "reconditioned."
It seemed insane, from the knowledge that gold and mercury react electrolytically in the presence of saliva to accelerate mercury release, that mercury amalgam might be underneath the gold crown. Yet, there were no other possibilities.

I proposed my question to the dentist.
"If he had been a dentist in the 1960's, would he have considered putting a base of mercury amalgam UNDER a gold crown?" I noted that I had experienced mercury toxicity twice before and to my knowledge ALL of my mercury amalgams had been removed over 4 years previously and I had detoxed the mercury. Now, I was re-experiencing symptoms of mercury poisoning.

There WAS a possibility of mercury amalgam under the gold crowns, he replied.
He had noticed a slim dark line between the bottom of one of the gold crowns and the enamel and that had prompted him earlier to suggest the "reconditioning". The removal of the gold crowns, for at least a confirmation of amalgam presence or not, was now a primary concern that shadowed the tooth repair. I told him to check those out first and depending on what he found we would decide what would be done now, and what would be left.

Removal of the gold crowns revealed the problem.
Underneath each had been a mercury amalgam and each had disintegrated, almost completely, by electrolysis. As the dentist remarked, the underside of each gold crown looked like it had been a battery with obvious massive electrical corrosion! It was the second worst example of deterioration he had seen in decades of dentistry. I had indeed had mercury leaking into my system in ever increasing amounts. The dentist suggested that with that much mercury in my saliva, I could even have passed a degree of mercury toxicity to an intimate partner through kissing.

It was horrible news that I yet again had to experience mercury toxicity when I had done my best to rid myself of the sources and the toxicity. As my current dentist mentioned, the dentist I had developed a trust with in the late 1990's and who had removed the last obvious dental amalgams, would not have been able to know of the presence of these. The gold crowns would have concealed them from X-ray detection. Until one or more of the crowns had lifted, none of the amalgam would have been visible. Without the experimental removal we had done, as Spiritually Guided to do, I might have died of "natural causes" within a few more weeks or months.

Over the previous three years I had taken 6 transpacific flights of over 24 hours duration each, with stops along the way. That meant being subjected to decreased air pressures at least 12 times. If there had been any molecules of air lodged under the gold crowns in the space left by the electrolytic degradation of the amalgam base, that air would have exerted pressure to raise the crown every time a plane I was flying in rose to a cruising altitude of over 35,000 feet.

On at least one of the flights, that altitude was 55,000 feet, taken to avoid severe turbulence. On the others, it was always over 30,000 feet. If either crown had EVER edged up a little, the amalgam would have become exposed to saliva and any current electrolytic action would simply be accelerated continually from that time. Immediately after three of the flights I had sustained severe health problems.

We agreed to replace both gold crowns with porcelain ones.
Cleaning out the little remaining mercury amalgam was quickly done. More considerations had to be worked out regarding the now increased dental cost if the 3 caps and a bridge tooth were to be completed at once. With the benefit of Spiritual Guidance and a considerate associate and a patient and understanding dentist, the decision was made in minutes and the work continued.

Good News, Finally!
I could now look forward to a full recovery -- something I had been striving for for over 10 years. There had been MANY times that I had barely survived and MANY times that I had not expected to, or been expected to. My persistence in asking for and following Spiritual Guidance had helped me find the knowledge to understand the situations and illnesses and the supplements and diets to sustain me to cope with those stresses and to recover from those conditions. It would be required just as much in the recovery of the following weeks.
