North Americans on fixed incomes and in an increasingly volitile employment climate and a vastly changing financial market have an increasing likelihood of being "downsized" into jobs which pay less, expect more hours and skills, and exclude the payment of pension, medical, dental, and other benefits. Increasingly, pensions are not indexed. The majority of participants in both real estate and mutual funds have lost money since 1992.

Exponentially increasing rates of hypersensitivities and a constant growth in the percentage of chronically ill persons worsens the equation. The legal and financial costs of relationship breakdowns and family splits further diminishes assets and reduces the frequency of maintained dental health. How many people do you know who are keen on their dental health and aware of the realities that could have professionals leave them in jeopardy, regardless of cost?

To put an experience into perspective you have to know where and with what you start.
Every individual has a different hereditary, birth, and life experience. Some of those you can identify with. Other experiences you wish you had, or, are thankful you have avoided or been sheltered from.

If you find this report long, it is because the problem is complex.
The authorities who we as taxpayers and citizens and patients have given our power to have been avoiding their responsibilities in this area for more than 80 years. While the scientific evidence exists, and is recognized and acted upon in other countries, most North American dentists and politicians deny all and bury their heads in the sand.

A report of this problem can be much shorter.
