Cultural Relevancy.
Copyright laws were instituted for the purpose of ensuring that inventors, writers, and artists would receive compensation for the reproduction of their work. Without this protection and acknowledgement the concept of ownership would be absent and financial encouragement for creative works would not be present. Without copyright privilege, anyone would be able to copy the creativity of the inventor and claim it for themselves through sale of their product. Copyright laws were generated by a need for capital stability in the area of production.
Creative persons rarely receive large amounts of payment for their efforts. Truly creative persons are often not motivated in their playful innovativeness by the thought of financial gain. Indeed, the creative person has often used their own time, energies, and capital, to carry out the experimentation and testing that has led to their creation.
Creative persons must have an inner sense of security and a desire for individualism if they are going to ignore or deflect the all too common discouragements offered by those around them, including their own family members. Creative persons by the very nature of innovation, experimentation, and problem-solving are stimulated by risk, which they see as opportunity.
To translate a creation into a shared product through production most often requires financial backers who typically cover the costs of duplication, packaging, marketing, and distribution. Often, successful financial providers are security minded and risk aversive. They seek to construct security around them in terms of materialistic wealth. They see danger first. Often they are persuaded and motivated by the greed of receiving most of the profits should there be any. They put in the effort and their savings (with the exception of banks) to turn a prototype or original into thousands to millions of copies. Without a profit, they would be better either not to have originally sacrificed to save the capital, or, would be better to enjoy life at a point of self-sufficiency.
Very little profit is required by the inventor or the manufacturer if it is correctly determined in the early stages that the product will sell in many numbers and that the production process can be effectively planned and efficiently carried out. Unfortunately, without the use of Spiritual Guidance, which almost no financial provider uses, the reality of failure is high. Human fantasy, projection, over-optimism, impatience, greed, authoritarianism, poor communication skills and an inability to cope well with multiple factor decision-making result in failure rates as high as 80% in some industries and trades. So, it is little wonder that the creative source of the writing or object often receives as little as 1% of the sale price. Profits tend to range from 40% to 80% of the sale price. Obviously, a successful investor can make a LOT of money. And, the public can be dunned with copious advertising and spam!
High profits attract greedy investors to finance potentially high risk ventures in which people are hired to "invent". These ventures typically require guaranteed high profits because they use the most inefficient system of creation: demand. Creation is seldom efficient under the constrictions of paid employment often accompanied by the security of routine hours, stipulated and dependable incomes, formalized procedures, ingrained authority structures, and fixed belief systems.
Frequently, billions of dollars are spent to attempt to create a "saleable" product to solve a problem for which an inexpensive solution has existed for decades, or even centuries. The investor difficulty is that there is no way to guarantee a huge profit through the marketing of a common, inexpensive, simple ingredient or device. More than any other factor, copyright and patent laws are to protect investors who try to force creativity from processes which are orderly and low in creativity.
Poor management is wasteful and necessitates huge profits.
Huge profits encourage greed and incompetent participation.
Greed and aggressiveness encourages duplication through fraud.
Fraud produces at low cost and low marketing expense, and, no royalties.
Consumers are greedy for more than they can afford and buy cheap.
Investors lose the market, can't pay expenses, and go bankrupt.
Laws are needed to protect conventional investors.
The INTENT of copyright and patent laws is mainly to reward incompetent investors, those who are greedy, and, fair minded investors who have taken risk for the public good (few). This is the history of mass production in every economy. Capitalistic or communistic, it is all a degree of human ignorance requiring guaranteed returns so that it never has to consider anything relevant beyond greed founded on personal inner insecurity. Spiritually Guided processes would benefit all concerned, EXCEPT those who by their obsessive insecurities ever more desired more.
There is no simple constructive answer.
A Law of Basic Return for the creative individual might provide a minimum percentage of the retail price. Instruction in and the use of Spiritual Guidance could reduce the amount of market and investment failures to a minimum. It could also be used to optimize production, marketing , and delivery processes. Marketing and socialization for the purpose of education and awareness rather than for acceptance, control, and power --- would reduce the waste of unused, non-required, redundant, worthless, and overabundant products purchased.
One answer.
A needed product, optimized in its production, marketing, and circulation, and, providing a moderate return for the originator and a good, not excellent, return for the investor and the sales staff --- could produce a high quality product for a retail price which by its lack of high profit would discourage fraud. All would benefit excepting the greedy.
Freeware/Shareware.
There is a good selection of relevant Freeware and Shareware included in the Health-4-All Package. Access to it and permission to circulate it freely is supported by the GNU General Public License" which is included here and in the Package. In brief:
"When we speak of free software, we are referring to freedom, not price. Our General Public Licenses are designed to make sure that you have the freedom to distribute copies of free software (and charge for this service if you wish), that you receive source code or can get it if you want it, that you can change the software or use pieces of it in new free programs; and that you know you can do these things. ...
Also, for each author's protection and ours, we want to make certain that everyone understands that there is no warranty for this free software. If the software is modified by someone else and passed on, we want its recipients to know that what they have is not the original, so that any problems introduced by others will not reflect on the original authors' reputations. ...
6. Each time you redistribute the Program (or any work based on the Program), the recipient automatically receives a license from the original licensor to copy, distribute or modify the Program subject to these terms and conditions. You may not impose any further restrictions on the recipients' exercise of the rights granted herein. You are not responsible for enforcing compliance by third parties to this License."
The purchaser of A Foundation 4 Health Package is thus able to use the Freeware included in it as and when and if they have an application for it. The Shareware will carry with it a trial period which allows the user to try out the software for a stated period of time, after which they usually have either an option to purchase a registration from the stated source, or, freely make a donation to the author in recognition of their efforts. In the former condition, the program may cease to work after the trial period unless a registration fee is paid. Our customer is afforded these options without the danger and frustration of having to download them from the Internet, or, buy them separately on utility disks or CDs.
Article Excerpts.
In the Earthtym.net materials included in A Foundation 4 Health Package, there are few articles quoted in part or whole. Where quoted, every effort has been made to note the authorship of the article or part.
Much factual and historical material has been excerpted from a great number of references, both articles and books, for inclusion in the "Project Earth ... A Report" currently unfinished compilation. No one owns history, nor facts. Personalized accounts of history include value judgements, theories, beliefs, mismatches of sequence, persuasive rationalizations, and imaginative assumptions. These have been intentionally and fully excluded from "The Report" unless fully documented as a quote.
Additional promotion without cost is being given to articles which are quoted and referenced in part in this document, and they may benefit accordingly.
Books Sourced.
In the Earthtym.net materials included in A Foundation 4 Health Package, there are few books quoted in part and none in total. Where quoted, every effort has been made to note the authorship and publisher.
An extensive Bibliography is provided in the Project Earth documentation. It notes the names, authors, publishers, and any other data that may be helpful in the reader locating and obtaining the source according to what was available at the time. Readers and users of the "Project Earth ... A Report", as well as those interested in using the books listed in the Balancing section and those noted in other sections --- have been encouraged to purchase such materials if they find the reference to it in this material to raise their interest.
Partial or complete chapters of a book have been transcribed in several rare situations. The resources have been found highly beneficial for the purposes noted in the Package, yet the source has become relatively unavailable for "market" reasons. At one time, books went out of print only after decades. Later, they became remaindered and after the first rush of consumers they were liquidated at or below cost ... and made out-of-print. At first this latter process was utilized after a printing had been in circulation for a decade. With every passing year, the length of time in the market before discounting, was reduced until it reached a common point of 1 year with individual offerings occurring after as little as 6 or 9 months.
Re-printing of a book seldom takes place any more unless the first printing fully sells out at the retailer without having any copies remaindered. This makes writing, and publication, even more risky than it was previously for authors have often taken decades to be "noticed" by the public after which they become "great." This process of reader acceptance, publisher patience, and writer persistence ... has largely been replaced by marketing and promotional persuasion generating the "fast buck" from mass media fantasies suggesting what the book and the author is about. Beyond reaction-oriented purchases, the public has little opportunity to obtain a source of valuable awareness as it will likely go out of print before they can find it.
Additional promotion without cost to the author is being given to books which are partially quoted in this Package, and they may benefit accordingly. The purchaser of the Package benefits greatly by having a particular and relevant segment of the original made available for their use without the expense of having to purchase the complete edition nor the frustration of searching everywhere for what may no longer be available.
Image Transfer.
Image sharing has been a standard practice since the beginning of the Internet.
Many sites on the Internet which act as mentoring resources for initiates who want to learn how to program their own webpages have freely advocated the downloading of images from other sites for inclusion in one's own. Not only images but the downloading of whole pages of coding for use as examples of format and correct coding have been advocated since before 1996. In the earlier years, this was one of the few ways in which one could learn to do simple HTML coding.
When I began coding my pages in 1996, one website in particular, Filez.com, provided easy access to images in use on other sites. Many of the images I obtained at that time were already in use on at least 10 different indexed sites and sometimes on many more. Obviously, there was no way to attribute the image, and no one did. Had it been a great concern, the technology would have been put into use at that time that would have prevented the downloading of images and pages, or, attribution detail would have been attached to the image as part of its "Properties". Filez has been closed for several years and many of the newer and more powerful search engines now provide a similar facility.
Artistic and designer sites increasingly both stipulate downloading restrictions, and, utilize technologies that prevent same. These sites often charge a royalty for the use of their images and/or request attribution be given on the site using their image. As of 2001, I have not yet seen a site of the tens of thousands I have visited, which attributes its images in any way. In an age of digital replication, if you don't want others to copy it, don't make it available through the mass media in a way that anyone can do so.
Hosting of images on the source site has been requested in some cases where the original provider stipulates the request that the image may be used provided it is accessed and loaded from their site. Doing this can severely deteriorate the quality of your site as the loading of your page depends entirely upon the accessibility of the foreign page with the image to be retrieved from. This increases the access statistics of the image host site but provides no determination as to whether the viewer ever did or ever will visit or even be aware of the existence of their site. To the best of my knowledge, I have never used such images.
Web Page Mirroring.
Singular pages from other sites have been included in the Package for very specific reasons. Extensive recoding has usually been done to modify the programming for a simpler, perhaps more attractive and more easily readable format without background Javascript and foreground advertising. In all cases many of the links in the original page have been kept and expanded to include the full URL so that the Package user can go to these auxiliary pages on the Internet. To this extent, a mirror of the page in the Package provides dozens of opportunities for the viewer to visit the original site for other related information.
Most of these mirrored pages are in the Adult Section and have been chosen for their representation of considerable detail on the healthful and pleasurable sharing of intimacy. As often noted at the bottom of the mirrored pages, webpages on the Internet are notorious for "disappearing" for many reasons. Some of these that I have encountered include the following:
- Owner deceased;
- Site upgraded from Personal to Registered URL;
- Re-organization of the site into other directories;
- Removal of sections due to limited site storage space;
- Periodic removal of the site because of throughput costs;
- Loss of desired advertising or threat of loss of advertising;
- Page excluded by monitoring software as "too explicit";
- Receiver's ISP access erratic due to equipment upgrade;
- Removal of pages as no longer of concern to the author;
- Receiver's ISP down for maintenance and upgrading;
- Page excluded by ISP because considered "Adult";
- One or more Internet nodes jammed with traffic;
- Site no longer maintained --- forgotten about;
- ISP hosting site has gone out of business.
Mirroring 1 page from a site consisting of hundreds of pages and maintaining - providing links back to the original site can only enhance the visibility of the original site's owner and site and increase their number of visitors.
A Foundation 4 Health Package is simply to provide you with the convenience of the downloaded basic file as we are Guided that the content and the format will help some in gaining a spiritual perspective.
