1. Zed: Floating on the Wind
Z - The Spirit of Resistance.
A certain amount of resistance can be healthy caution against an untested system.
Participatory Economics (Parecon for short) is a type of economy proposed as an alternative to contemporary capitalism. The underlying values are equity, solidarity, diversity, and participatory self management. The main institutions are workers and consumers councils utilizing self managed decision making, balanced job complexes, remuneration according to effort and sacrifice, and participatory planning.
from
Z-net, a community of people committed to social change.
Flight is only possible because of resistance.
If the wings of planes and birds, and the design of kites did not provide resistance against the reality of the air, there would be no lift and no opportunity to travel over obstacles in a straighter path to one's destination than if one had to circumvent all the physical obstacles on the ground in such a line of travel. Yet, if one is going to be afforded the benefits of flight, one is best to have effected some preparation beforehand.
Ensure that all of the components of the craft have been checked for integrity. Will it survive the takeoff? Are there provisions for emergencies and the length and altitude of the trip. Do you have a flight map showing the surface obstructions to avoid and the political boundaries to observe?
The person with CFS-ME is best to check the integrity of their components.
They also will need to rise above the congestion, frustrations, and circuitous routes which must be followed for an overland trip. The delays, disappointments, and discouragement of others along the roadway will force many people with CFS-ME to turn back. They often cannot afford to stop and knock on many doors to ask for directions, only to be misdirected many times by well intentioned though poorly informed persons. The land route will be well mapped and seem secure and dependable. Too often, there will be highway breakdowns and stoppages, and, others running out of fuel, or, driving recklessly.
The person who is going to pilot their own small plane to the airpost near the distant city will benefit from some basic planning. Their trip may be much shorter in time and distance than the surface traveller. It will likely remain necessary for them to dress a little warmer for the higher altitudes. They will also be best to take along some change-of-weather clothing in case of unexpected weather changes. Sunglasses, a sweater, rain gear, water, and a snack. There will be no mid-sky restaurants and toilets to visit along their way. They will want feedback from other pilots who have recently made the trip. What are the highlights not to miss? What are the cautions to consider? With the information on these pages, you will be a well prepared pilot. Have a great flight and a safe arrival.

2. Reality, not shifted.
Look around you.
If you live(d) or work(ed) in a major commerce or population region, you will have been exposed to many influences which surrounded you to make your life more secure, more interesting, more rewarding, more productive, more beautiful. What you are about to discover, if you are totally unaware of it at this moment, is that many of those influences .. are shifted.
A Shifted Reality is one that has been distorted, enhanced, made more dramatic, been cleaned, warmed, calmed, minimized, or increased ... from what it was. It has been made "better", too often through distraction, deception, desire, expectation, or, the power of money, or, fear. What IN that shift now supports your movement towards Recovery? If you really have CFS-ME, many of the beliefs you have acquired and ALL of the routines which once stabilized and ordered your life, may, end.
Keep your Spirits UP, or, you will crash.
Depression, despair, disappointment, loss, abuse, frustration ... these can all extend from and accumulate if you have CFS-ME. You have been rewarded socially, emotionally, physically, intimately, and financially for all the material worth in your surroundings or stored up into certificates of achievement, positions of power and authority, the orderliness of a large home, and, the demonstration of a large family of kin, or, peers. Yet none of these material savings and purchases will make you Recover from CFS-ME. Most of them will exert a reversed influence ... out of sight and presence, out of mind and concern.
Your RECOVERY will depend upon your Survival.
That survival will depend upon how efficient your glide path is over the forests, swamps, rushing rivers, cliffs, graveyards, buildings, and lakes. There will be many who decry the expense, risk, or novelty of soaring. Why not just do as they do, as you have done in the Past: just continue to do for them and share with them. Take a ride with them to the distance locale, when THEY have time. They say you look just as you usually do. You are having a bad day or two. No, they don't acknowledge that your "bad days" have added into months, possibly years. What if you set aside everything which was not HELPING you to Recover?
3. Butterflies add beauty to any decor.
Have you ever gone to a museum and looked at a display of butterflies?
Have you ever taken the time to notice the butterflies in your neighborhood? Did you notice that there are many different kinds. Different sizes, different, colors, different patterns, different trees and bushes they prefer. None stay around to sit, wait, or watch. They are Alive. They are sharing their colors with you. They are inviting your eyes with their bouncing motions through the air and the flexing of their wings.
What are THEY sharing with YOU?
They have no history with you. You did not birth them, raise them, teach them, work with them, feed them. Neither have they imposed upon you, beat you, frightened you, disrespected you, or, been angry with you. They don't know you from yesterday; nor, do you know their life experiences. Today, that is what you share. They are showing you the best they can offer you. You can ignore and deny them. You can notice, gaze, smile, take in their color and motion. You can rise a little in spirit as they invite you to envisage yourself as light as a feather, if only for a moment. They have brought you a bouquet of colors. They will not stay. Neither do they ask or demand anything back from you. No water, no food, not even your attention.

8. Run, to get High.
Fake it til you make it is a term that is used frequently. Some folks use it when they are struggling with a belief in a higher power. It is more like a blind faith that they place their belief in. I could never get the hang of faking it. It was either there or it wasn't so I guess I can not relate to those that fake it. I didn't need to fake it because every time I came to the turning point, I was brought to my knees, this time I was flat on my back. Everyone has their own turning point but the result is always a belief in a power greater than us.
It is a paradox. Going through some extreme pain to come to the realization that we can not do it alone. We give into the higher power that has been carrying us all along. It comes as a great relief that we do not have to face our lives all alone. After the realization, we get a sense of hope and faith that we are safe. A sense that everything is going to be alright. Looking back we can see that we were always o.k. We just never gave it a chance. Free will is a hard thing to control. Free will can make us arrogant and it can give us a feeling that we are in control when in fact we have very little control over things and even if we did have control, we would probably louse everything up. I am not very good at just letting things be. I am too impatient in just letting them unfold. I can look back at many instances in my life where I jumped the gun. Hind sight is 20/20.
For me, it is not just developing a belief and a faith that everything is going to turn out the way that I want it to, it is a feeling that no matter what happens, I will be o.k. That is my faith. When I am able to get into this mindset, I can see how things just fall into place without me getting in the way. I couldn't plan it any better. Fear does get in the way of everything. But the only thing that can cast out fear is love.
Love has the power to get rid of fear because love is unconditional. Love is an acceptance of the way things are. Love is allowing a person to be who they are and what they are. Love has no boundaries. If anybody has told you that they love you, you can tell if they really mean it by seeing how they are when you are at your worst. Are they still right there beside you, or do they run for the hills? Many people use the term loosely, or they have developed their own definition of love based upon their own values and morals. That type of love is cheap and superficial and it doesn't do anyone any good. It just causes more pain.
9. Manage.
Every trip begins with the first step, proceeds according to our awareness, sensitivity, choices, and skills, and ends when we return to the beginning.

10. Yawn .. wide open.
Infectious, communal, acknowledging.
Yes, often if one person in a group yawns, it will influence others to do so. The act has even transferred from animals to humans and in reverse also. Few people plan to yawn. Yawns have been show to provide healthful benefits by exhaling used air and dramatically introducing fresh air into the lungs. They are a movement which also betrays a FEELINGS of tiredness, boredom, and waiting. Dynamically, they are capable of exchanging anger for joy, frustration for laughter, denial for attention ... and, the reverse. However OTHERS respond to Our yawns, it is mostly an extension of what THEY associate with that action at that time, and how THEY project that signal as a communication between US and THEM or, Us and Others.

No Surprises!
Dick Kanipsia had embezzled monies and left them with a friend for safekeeping while he was in jail. Out of jail, Dick, wants his money back. He meets with his friend to do so, only to find his friend shot dead before him, and before he returns the money or says where it is. Surprise.
Dick traces his friend's connection to a band leader (?), who runs away in a black van with dark tinted windows. Dick goes after him with the intention of getting the money back which now appears to have been stolen from his friend and himself. Surprise.
Kitty Kopetzky needs a ride which she manages to get from Dick.
They are short on money, so, Kitty robs a gas station-store, while Dick is fueling the car, unaware. Now the police are after them. And they, are after a person who may have stolen from Dick and killed his friend. Surprise.
Dick and Kitty notice that a black van with dark windows seems to be following them. Then, there are two identical dark vans after them and one of the couple they find, appears to go missing into one of the vans at a restaurant rest stop. Surprise.
A vehicle chase ensues and at least one of the vans ends up accidently driving into a pond, where it quickly sinks, drowning the people inside. The people are pulled from the second van to reveal that the people in the two vans were partners rushing to the property invested in, to sell it for what little it is still worth. They have been afraid that Dick would kill them if he found out what they had done.
The "good guys" were trying to get enough money out of the property to repay Dick, or, make a getaway for themselves. Even had they been able to lose Dick in his search for them, they would at best have gleaned a little money towards their savings, for their extravagent purchases, and, expenses. Surprise.
The professional (band leader) had invested the stolen money, along with some of his own and his brother's in a trailer park, in anticipation of making a lot of profit. They expected to return the money owed to Dick's friend with a modest interest, and, keep the larger gain for themselves. They had been unaware of the connection between the friend and Dick, or, the fraudulent source of it. Unfortunately, the property had lost much of its value by the time Dick arrived. Surprise.
While searching for a small fortune of embezzled money, (James Caan, as) Dick Kanipsia, an ex-con, a small-time bandleader, (Peter Boyle, as) Barry Fenaka, his doting wife (Louise Lasser, as) Mary Fenaka, and a kooky drifter, (Sally Kellerman as) Kitty Kopetzky find themselves being followed. Their chase takes them to trailer camps, bingo halls, laundromats and ultimately, a showdown with a group of unconventional bad guys.
EVERYBODY LOSES!
Dick was Greedy and wanted a better life, yet ended up in jail.
The friend THOUGHT he was doing best by investing the money.
The band-leader-accountant intended to multiply the monies for his own benefit, that of the friend, for Dick, and friends of himself. With the best of intentions and a confidence in real estate, the economy, and Money, most, is lost. Kitty just wanted to be along for the ride and an easy going uncomplicated life, yet she ends up raising a police alarm after her and Dick. The people in the second van all drown, just trying to get ahead financially. Surprise.
This was an excellent movie, in my experience.
I only saw it once, and that was at least 30 years ago.
I have had poor recall most of my life, so everything may not be accurate.
According to those who promote and decide the future of films, this movie has been dumped, almost from the beginning. What did it lack which the movie moguls continued to feed the public since. It lacked a lot of swearing (irreverence), sexuality (lust), brutality, guns and weapons, and other dramatic expressions more suitable for childish persons than for adults. This movie has never been on any TV channels in my area for the past 15 years and isn't available in DVD or VHS. The data available online, is, minimal.
