File: 02 - Seminar 1

Guidelines for Participants.

Please observe and note the following so that all participants will benefit.
  1. Please be on time whenever the Seminar is to continue.
    Breaks and a lunch period will be taken at approximate times with their concluding times being noted at the beginning. Those who arrive late are asked to enter without speaking to or disturbing others who are present.

  2. Do not smoke within the building.
    Increasing numbers of persons are sensitized to smoke.
    Smoking also dirties the clothes of others and the room.

  3. Eat and drink in the cafeteria, lunch room, or outside.
    Drinking water is allowed at the desks/tables.

  4. Seminars are opportunities for learning, not debating.
    Attendees will get their greatest value by listening AND participating with an expectation of understanding.

  5. Write down questions which come to mind and ask them at the end of the appropriate section if still a problem.

  6. Personalize your seminar notes and write reminders and more extensive descriptions where desired.

  7. Breaks are 30 minute periods during which you may:
      • - go to the washroom;
      • - get a drink or go outside;
      • - walk around or relax;
      • - speak with other participants;
      • - make phone calls and check messages;
      • - obtain, prepare, heat and have your lunch.

  8. To finish the seminar on time, please keep the following until the end:
    • - pre-registration for other seminars;
    • - orders for reference books and aids;
    • - scheduling for a balancing session;
    • - questions with lengthy answers;
    • - requests for speaking engagements;
    • - personal comments to the presenter.
